The Prime Minister would recover he had been due to oversee a review and there was optimism of the lockdown next week, 21 days about the wider picture too. After it first came into force. But although yesterday saw the highest daily increase yet in the number the foreign secretary suggested it of deaths from coronavirus, was too soon for this to take place. Our Political Correspondent Jonathan Blake has the story. Rising by 786 to a total of 6,157, another night in intensive care for the Prime Minister. The number of confirmed cases last night, downing street said he was being closely monitored, of the virus rose by 3,634 but in good spirits. To a total of 55,242. Wishing borisjohnson well. Its possible that were beginning the man standing in for him sought to reassure the public to see the beginning of change yesterday. Dominic raab said he was in terms of the curve flattening a little bit. Confident the Prime Minister we wont know that for would recover and there sure for a week or so. But what were not seeing was optimism about the wider is an acceleration. Picture too. Although yesterday saw its important that we keep these the highest daily increase yet in the number of deaths new cases down because of course from coronavirus, rising by 786 this in turn leads to the number to a total of 6,157, of people going into hospital, the number of confirmed cases and the aim all along is to reduce of the virus rose by 3,634 the number of cases below to a total of 55,2112. The capacity for the nhs that, said the governments and to save lives. But it doesnt mean restrictions chief scientific advisor, in place to slow the spread could be a good sign. Of coronavirus are likely to be lifted or eased in the nearfuture. Dominic raab suggested its possible that were it was simply too soon to tell beginning to see the beginning if they were working as planned. Of change in terms of the curve flattening a little bit. Weve said that we will take any we wont know that for review once weve got the evidence sure for a week or so. That the measures are working, but what were not seeing and having the kind of impact taking us past the peak, is an acceleration. Which means that they can its important that we keep be responsibly done. These new cases down were not at that stage yet. The government insists because of course this in turn it is getting on with its work while the Prime Minister remains in hospital. Leads to the number of people but anxious hours and difficult days lie ahead. Going into hospital, and the aim all along Jonathan Blake, bbc news. Spent a second night in intensive weve said that we will take care. Any review once weve got the Prime Minister will wake up this the evidence that the measures are working, and having morning after spending a third the kind of impact taking us past the peak, which means night, the second in intensive care. That they can be responsibly done. Were not at that stage yet. Downing street said he remained in a the government insists it is getting on with its work sta ble downing street said he remained in a stable condition and that he had not while the Prime Minister remains in hospital. Worsened. They said he was still in but anxious hours and good spirits but they added he would difficult days lie ahead. Stay in intensive care overnight for Jonathan Blake, bbc news. Charlotte rose is outside st thomas close monitoring. We know the prime hospital for us this morning. The man who is stepping in as his on the Prime Minister . Deputy, dominic raab spoke at the Daily Briefing yesterday and said he knew that the Prime Minister would that is right. Borisjohnson wakes recover quickly because he knew he up was a fighter and he wanted to that is right. Borisjohnson wakes up this morning having spent a third night in hospital here. His second reassure people that important in intensive care. Downing street government decisions would still be gave an update last night saying he made in the Prime Ministers absence by him and his cabinet colleagues. Remained ina gave an update last night saying he remained in a stable condition but that he would stay in the intensive we are expecting a further update on the Prime Ministers condition later ca re that he would stay in the intensive care unit for close monitoring. They this morning. Said he remains in good spirits. We 0ur Political Correspondent nick eardley is outside 10 know that he has had an oxygen mask downing street for us this morning. To help with his breathing but they nick, has there been any stress he has not been put on a indication from the Government Regarding when theyll review ventilator and that that was not going to be required. Yesterday, the the social distancing restrictions . Man who was standing in as his it was interesting to hear from deputy, dominic raab said he was sure the Prime Minister would dominic raab who were standing in for the Prime Minister yesterday. Recover quickly because he knows he isa recover quickly because he knows he and to hear whether that will happen is a fighter. Dominic raab also wa nted at all. He does not sound confident is a fighter. Dominic raab also wanted to reassure the public that that things will change next week to important government decisions could get back to normal or to relax some be made in the absence of the Prime Minister. And as you say we expect a of those restrictions that we have further date on his condition later all seen over the last 2. 5 weeks. This morning. Our Political Correspondent when borisjohnson all seen over the last 2. 5 weeks. When Boris Johnson announced all seen over the last 2. 5 weeks. Nick eardley is outside 10 when borisjohnson announced all those new measures, he said that the downing street for us this morning. Review would look at whether some nick, has there been any indication from the government restrictions could be lifted but regarding when theyll review the social distancing restrictions . Only if the science show that that there are so many unanswered was possible. You have got to say questions and things we want to the message we are getting from ministers and the medical experts know. Who will be able to make such and scientists at the moment anyway is that it is too soon to say whether that is the case. Dominic a decision . It would normally be a raab were saying at that press conference yesterday that the worst decision for the Prime Minister. At thing to do now would be to take the moment it does not look likely, their foot off the pedal and the now to be honest. If you think back to is the time to keep following those when borisjohnson to be honest. If you think back to when Boris Johnson initially announced his new restrictions on guidelines about staying at home so the way we live our lives he said that can consolidate some of the the way we live our lives he said the government would look at the progress that has been made over the evidence in a few weeks and left those restrictions if it could, past fortnight or so. The scientists, similar message for based on Scientific Evidence. Ive them. All the hints are at the got to say at the moment that every moment that we are not going to see a change anytime soon. Thank you for day those press conferences we get the afternoon in downing street, that update, we will speak to you later on this morning. There is little sign that the the take up of the governments scheme to keep people employed government thinks we are at that stage. We had dominic raab saying during the Coronavirus Crisis has been much larger than yesterday that the worst thing first anticipated. Possible to do just now would be to ninas in the newsroom for us and has more on this one. Ta ke possible to do just now would be to take the foot off the pedal. The nina . Most important thing was to consolidate the progress that has yes this been made in the last few weeks. We was the scheme announced nearly weeks ago where the government said they would pay up to 80 of salaries keep hearing the scientific experts of workers whose jobs and medical experts as well, that we because of the coronavirus were not tenable. Think we may be getting near the peak, the point at which the highest the idea that those jobs would still number of hospitalisations and deaths starts to happen but we are be there to go back to. Not necessarily there yet. Three at that time, the government estimated 10 , 3 million weeks from that initial announcement of the of the uks workforce would end up on the scheme, by borisjohnson would be monday. I but figures out today suggest that take up may be more than three times dont think necessarily that we will three times that. Get that update on monday and we a big support for businesses, will expect something next week at but costing the treasury up the moment it looks unlikely that to £40 billion over 3 months. There will be any big change and when change does come do not expect just to give it some context, it to suddenly roll back to normal, that is the same amount it to suddenly roll back to normal, it will all be gradual. The government spends each year on police and safety. Thank you very much for that. A lot of money. It does take away some anxiety for workers in the short term but inevitably the first coronavirus patients have there are questions been admitted to the new nhs about whetherjobs will survive once this period is over. This is 0livia Nightingale Hospital. Who works in recruitment in canterbury. While i am grateful not to be made redundant, it feels like i am the temporary Field Hospital, at the excel centre in london, has been set up in just nine days to handle the crisis and can waiting to for the inevitable. It accommodate up to 4,000 patients. Its the first of several to be built across the country. The chinese authorities have started does feel a little bit like a allowing people to leave wuhan waiting game right now. On the other where the pandemic started. The city was locked down two hand as well my boss has been left and a half months ago. Lets speak to china correspondent robin brant, on his own to run the business on whos in shanghai. His own, normally i would help him with that. I feel that he is in a this is a note of the mizzen. What situation that i cannot help with have they been up to . A symbolic helping the business through this period. Moment. 76 days since wuhan was shut important to say this scheme has undoubtedly ensured the survival of thousands down, cut off from the rest of china of businesses whose owners have and the rest of the world and now welcomed the scheme. But its also left the government open those restrictions are being lifted to criticism that too many people and people are finally able to leave self employed or those who havent been with their employer long enough the city, usually home to 11 Million People, and travel to other parts of are falling through the cracks. China. There are conditions, you must have a green code on a health thank you for that date. We will app that is being widely used on have more on that subject later this smart phones here. Thousands of morning for you. People are already leaving on planes the first coronavirus patients have and trains, all of them travelling been admitted to the new nhs Nightingale Hospital. Domestically but there is real caution here. It is a significant the temporary Field Hospital, at the excel centre in london, moment but the guidance in the was set up in just nine days to handle the crisis and can accommodate up to 4,000 patients. Province of hubei around the city its the first of several to be remains from the government that built across the country. People should stay indoors if they can and they should limit their authorities in paris have banned exercise travel outside and they should wear masks as well. And even the outdoors during the day, as deaths from coronavirus continue to rise in france daily. President , so desperate to see people return to work and the the new rules come economy back on its feet, is telling into effect today. Lets speak to our correspondent people that they should not ever in hugh schofield, whos in sancerre in central france. Large groups and warning against people going to tourism spots over the weekend, even saying they should always good to talk to you. Talk us not go to cinemas. In much of the concern is about imported cases. Through these changes, what will the there are some foreigners coming here but many of them are trash and french see happening today . That make chinese nationals returning home. And there are through these changes, what will the french see happening today7m through these changes, what will the restrictions been put in place french see happening today . It is a paris problem because the government has given a right to abilities the another parts of china. Not on the scale of wuhan. Provinces in the country and to govern the rules when it isa country and to govern the rules when it is a poor appropriate. In north, a place not farfrom here, paris the police have agreed that there with hundreds of thousands of people have put in force there are too many people jogging in restrictions because there have been outbreaks there they are concerned Daylight Hours and these people are about. The big worry is a Second Coming in contact with other people wave. You saw the beautiful light out for legitimate reasons, going to work or shopping, therefore the show there as we were listening to robin. That was to mark, to mark the groups of people need to be separated out and jogging needs to ta ke separated out and jogging needs to take place in the morning and lifting of restrictions. Evening. No one is suggesting that the take up of the governments joggers up till now have done scheme to keep people employed during the Coronavirus Crisis anything wrong, the reason is there has been much larger than first anticipated. Are too many of them taking exercise ninas in the newsroom for us and has more on this one. In the middle of the day. This is one of the measures that its been nina . Good morning. You may remember the taken around scheme was announced almost three one of the measures that its been ta ken around the one of the measures that its been taken around the country. 0thers weeks ago when the government said one of the measures that its been taken around the country. Others are placing curfews, taken around the country. Others are placing cu rfews, others taken around the country. Others are they would pay up to 80 of the placing curfews, others are saying salary of workers whose jobs, or thinking about making masks obligatory. But this is paris, it is because of coronavirus, were no longer tenable. At the time the the biggest city and it is because government estimated that about 10 it has been observed that there are a large number of people crowding of the workforce, about 3 Million People would end up on the scheme into the parks in the gardens are but figures out today suggest that along the banks of the river seine. The uptake may be more than three thank you for that update. That is times higher than that. A big support for businesses that are the situation from france this morning. It is 11 minutes past struggling costing the treasury up seven. Lets get you up to date with to £40 billion overjust three months. For context, that is the the news. Same amount the government spends on police and safety every year. What the latest indications are that borisjohnson is in a stable it means is that there are many workers who are being paid a large condition in hospital. But this does mean hes unlikely chunk of their salary who were not to be available for some important working so increasingly we see some decisions facing the government in the coming days. Pressure on the nhs is expected of them take up volunteer work. To peak over easter workers such as larry, chef based in while a review of the lockdown isnt expected to happen any time soon. We can speak now to karol sikora, london who is now making meals for professor of medicine nhs workers. My normaljob is in a at the university of buckingham. Good morning to you. Thank you for joining us. You are not his doctor about given what you know about restaurant. These are thousands of borisjohnson, are you reassured, . Meals each day is the next six or about given what you know about borisjohnson, are you reassured, . |j think so. It depends on the critical eight weeks. I am leading a team of oxygen level. The emphasis in intensive care is maintaining oxygen 18 and about eight or ten shifts a levels in the air sacs at the end of the lung. These get inflamed, the day. We are all volunteering. It is a time to come together and step up and do what we can do to help. So reaction we have to the coronavirus is different. Some people, no symptoms. 0ther where do you stand if you are on the is different. Some people, no symptoms. Other people like the scheme orfurloughed, cold, and other people requiring where do you stand if you are on the scheme or furloughed, as where do you stand if you are on the scheme orfurloughed, as it is being called . You can volunteer with the intensive care. We cannot predict advice is to only take paid who will go which way. So i think employment if that has been agreed boris is clearly stable, we are told with your boss. An advice is that he is not on a ventilator which is you could be in technically in great news. The outcome is better if breach of contract if you take paid you do not have to go on a work. There are lots of self employed workers who decided ventilator and hopefully he is a that instead of navigating a more bouncy guy, i suspect by tomorrow or the day after he will be out of complicated system similar to the furlough they decided to turn their intensive care and a national sigh of relief if he does. Lets also hand to something different. How about going from opera singer to talk about what is going on with lorry driver . I am a professional infections, with death rates as opera singer and at the moment all well. We understand that what you have said that he could be. My my work has been cancelled from now prediction is the seventh. We are at until the foreseeable future sol my work has been cancelled from now until the foreseeable future so i am ina until the foreseeable future so i am in a tricky situation. I have a lot a plateau phase. The figures bounce around about this simply because of of time on my hands and i like to keep busy so i applied last week and that collection problems. If there isa that collection problems. If there is a late collection one day, it i start on monday and i am looking goesin is a late collection one day, it goes in the next day and then you forward to it because it will help get a blip up. It looks like we are on the high plateau know which is great which means we are going to my financial situation and i come down. Sadly, the problem with understand people will think you are just helping yourself but i am looking forward to getting out there thatis come down. Sadly, the problem with that is that although the infections may go down, you may feel relaxed, and helping people because they do something people need at the moment. The impingement on the nhs, an intensive care units, carries on for i thought i would fill my time with at least a week or ten days. So the something in the hours are not too advice to stay isolated, to minimise long so i can always practice singing in the afternoons when i get contact, advice to stay isolated, to minimise home. Two jobs at the same time. Now co nta ct, to advice to stay isolated, to minimise contact, to reduce the infection rate, is really important whilst we go through the crescendo if you like there are lots of workers watching of activity in hospitals around the this this morning who feel they have country. This weekend. After that, fallen between the cracks, that none of the government scheme support and that is why they cannot talk them at the moment and if you look at the cost, a £40 billion over about releasing social isolation policies but i think a week after that, if everything goes well, we three months, considering that many workers are outside that schema will be in much better shape and gives us a small sense of the long road ahead to economic recovery. Hopefully boris will be out of hospital and will be able to thank you. I love the idea that he consider a timetable to get us out can sing while he drives as well. Of the situation as other countries have done. Lets talk about other thats what i was thinking. Imagine hearing that all the way down the countries, the chief medical officer street stop magnificent. 13 minutes talking about germany and what they have done about testing. Do you past six and this is breakfast. Think the government has got it right about testing . It is one of my beefs at the moment, testing as they brea kfast. Keep to get us out of this, notjust vets are recommending that cat owners should keep their pets indoors where possible during the coronavirus lockdown. The vine despite the antibodies. If Scientists Say the evidence is growing that humans can pass you pick up antibodies and you have the virus to animals particularly cats. A validated test, then it is likely but the british Veterinary Society says owners shouldnt worry that those who make the antibodies about any risk of their cats infecting them. Are immune to the virus and 0wners should practise good hand hygiene and try to keep cats indoors, therefore do not need to isolate any more, they can walk in the park or the society added. Whatever. But how do you police that . The only way is for everyone we spoke to a gp about that the to have a test, the tests cost about other day and she said the evidence is not conclusive either way yet but £5 to £10 and they can be done with just make sure you always wash your a finger prick, so very easy to do hands. That is still the key thing 100,000 people. That numbers bandied to do. And we have been told that over and over. About by ministers, lets get on with it. It has to be validated. On did you see the moon last night . That point, what is the delay in people around the world got a brilliant chance to gaze at a your point of view . There are lots so called pink super moon in the sky of la bs your point of view . There are lots of labs around the country and they last night. Despite the name there are all willing to help, private and is no noticeable colour difference. Public. The delay is getting a the show was first seen across north america as spring is ushered in. |j validated. We look at all the saw it last night and the early results, once we have got validated hours of this morning. It was measure, we go out and do 100,000 beautiful. Its not pink because of people. The great thing about that, the colour of the moon i think it is it would tell us how many people because of the flowers in canada have actually been infected without knowing it, ithink have actually been infected without knowing it, i think i have, that are blooming at the time. Not have actually been infected without knowing it, ithink i have, i like to think i have and many of you have only did you see it but you also done that. If you have been infected have unbelievable knowledge ifeel like an ignorant idiot. Authors are over the last month or so without any symptoms, you are good to go, you can get out. When you look at all paramedics across the country are putting their lives at risk the cruise ship data, these are all putting their lives at risk floating laboratory. After people by working without the right protective equipment, according to the gmb union. Who had the virus and antibody did millions of kit has been sent not have any symptoms at all and these are older people over 70, may to nhs frontline staff, be. So it is the right population to look at. Very interesting to talk to but Union Members say there isnt you this morning. Enough and ambulance workers are at breaking point. Our Health Correspondent with borisjohnson in intensive care, how will this lauren moss reports. Impact on the government . We can speak now to the open that were asked to wear is former cabinet minister, sir david lidington, who served as theresa mays de facto deputy. Thank you for being with us on bbc brea kfast thank you for being with us on bbc breakfast this morning. Some very Big Decisions being faced by the government. How difficult do you think it is to find a solution to some of those when the leader is not there . Clearly it would be much nothing more than disposable flimsy apron. Personal protective equipment better if borisjohnson were fully is the barrier against the coronavirus. And then whats back to health, he has got the provided, again, it only goes so electoral mandate which comes from the general election last december and there is an ebullient and dynamism about his leadership of the government that is not there at the moment. But i think the system is far. The main concern is they are working pretty effectively. The elected Prime Minister has delegated power to dominic raab to exercise on his behalf while he, borisjohnson, is in intensive care. That means, because the elected pm has given skip the main concern is that scared that decision, the entire Civil Service machine is going to swing of the ppe. Many ambulance staff round and give support to dominic didnt want to go on camera but and the cabinet as a whole to get wrote about feeling scared and unprotected. Saying they join things done. Secondly, there is an wrote about feeling scared and unprotected. Saying theyjoin the service to steve lives, not lose established plan, approved by the theirs. And risk theirfamilys. And pm, to address the coronavirus its not just crisis, and frankly, most of what theirs. And risk theirfamilys. And its notjust the lack of equipment putting a strain on the service. The government is going to be according to figures released by the discussing and talking about over gmb union in london, one in five the next two or three weeks at least staff are currently off with covid is going to be implementation of strategy that has already been agreed. I also think that, you know, related sickness. More than half of frontline workers and over wonder 100 are call handlers. Pressure on while every cabinet and every government has robust and frank demand on the service is only increased with sickness levels and discussions in private and that is issues with having to self isolate healthy for good government, a and becoming ill themselves has chilly, there will be a real feeling on the part of the current cabinet, added more pressure. Its going to bea added more pressure. Its going to be a huge issue with Mental Health all of whom i have known and served after this, with the stress and the strain they are being put under. L with in government, that they have a duty to the country to come up with Mental Health hotline for nhs staff to call or text has launched today the right decisions, not to fight in in the department of health is hundreds of millions of personal public, have a sensible discussion in the cabinet room or in a virtual protective items have been delivered around the country. But it is still cabinet room, these days, and then around the country. But it is still to agree a decision which is in the a race against time to keep those at the forefront of the outbreak safe best interests of the country as a from the enemy they cannot see. Whole and that will motivate them. You say you know the cabinet well, you know the Prime Minister well as well. How will he be responding to lets take a look at todays papers. This . His health is the number one priority at the moment obviously, but the frustrating thing of being the elected Prime Minister but not they are still being printed, which being able to do thatjob at the isa they are still being printed, which is a feat of work and technology. Moment . Oh, it must be enormously the guardian questions who is making the decisions while borisjohnson frustrating and for a man of boriss is in hospital. The paper says dominic raab whos standing in for natural exuberance and energy, its the Prime Minister has been denied authority to act without the full bound to be the case. But he is agreement of the cabinet. Clearly now following the very firm 0n the front page of the times is a picture of staff at George Eliot Hospital in nuneaton advice that his doctors have given with a message of support him, and our system of government for borisjohnson. The daily mirror reports allows a Prime Minister, if unwell that the queen has sent words of comfort to Boris Johnsons fiancee or if absent for any other reason, carrie symonds. Perhaps at some International Conference at the other side of the world, it allows the Prime Minister and one of the most read stories of the day to delegate powers on the bbc news website temporarily to his or her number two is a recommendation from vets that or another member of the cabinet and cat owners should keep their animals say, get on with it. Our system of indoors to help stop the spread of coronavirus. Government is flexible and strong andi government is flexible and strong and i think it is up for this easter weekend is nearly upon us. I challenge. Before you go, are you dont really restrict my buying of 0k, everything all right in your hot cross buns to easter, to be house . So far so good, i have a honest with you. Mary berry has been member of my family, a paramedic saying, the queen of home baking, student, who is now on the front for decades inspired lots of people with delicious smells, says you are line as a stjohns volunteer and waiting to be formally registered, and like most people in this better off buying hot cross buns country, i have elderly relatives from the supermarket. I was looking who are feeling the frustrations of ata from the supermarket. I was looking at a recipe on how to make them and i was nearly inspired now i think, isolation. But everyone in my area maybe i wont bother. |j seems to be looking out to each i was nearly inspired now i think, maybe i wont bother. I never got to other and sticking to physical it. How do you do the cross . distancing rules and trying to see maybe i wont bother. I never got to it. How do you do the cross . I never got to that bit. I know about the this thing through together. Stay dough on how to make it rise. They safe, thank you so much. And you. Are probably shouting at us at the throughout this pandemic moment. I need to improve my the gratitude felt for our frontline workers has been echoed across the country. Knowledge about moons and hot cross and thats why for one patient it was a shock to see staff turning buns. I mentioned the toilet that the applause to him as he left hospital. Spots you. Have a look at this. This after almost two weeks fighting the virus, Hylton Murray Phillipson was given a guard of honour while being discharged from leicester royal infirmary. Well speak to him shortly isa but first, lets take spots you. Have a look at this. This is a hippopotty, a bathroom suite a look at that moment. Designed with brass and copper and a bit of gold many years ago by french cheering surrealist. That is the sink unit. There is a toilet as well. Its going to go on auction at sothebys, its about 20 odd years old. Made in we can see hylton murray philipson, 1992 and used throughout. It is a lot for a hippo. Ican we can see hylton murray philipson, i can see you joining us there, a smile with a real depth of gratitude many of you have been in touch with us to pay tribute with that smile. We will come to how to your Unsung Heroes long you had been there, it mustve including care workers. Barry roberts asked us been a huge relief for you. Welcome to thank his carer sharon he said without he wouldnt of course, it was one of the great moment of my life. After 12 days in hospital, for that particular chapter end like that, was be able to cope. Absolutely astonishing. 0f chapter end like that, was absolutely astonishing. Of course, i was on a major high, it had been my birthday the day before which was a this Daycare Centre in south pretty emotional moment as well. Manchester would normally feed its elderly visitors here every day but but, yes, just feeling that i had this team are taking their service made it, that i was alive, thanks to to the doorstep, keeping in touch and feeding those who need help. The kindness and professionalism and compassion of all those people who lined that corridor. It doesnt come still keep in contact with those people who normally come on and they any better than that. Give us an idea of what your birthday like that rely on it. Even if itsjust taking the day before. Its moment s like the dinners to them, to still have that contact. This team are that that your gratitude for staff delivering hot meals and supplies to those who cant go out or have for the Little Things that happen goes through the roof on a day like nobody to shop for them. People who that. Absolutely, when you are as ill as i was, you are reduced to use the service are grateful for support. They are heroes, there is basically a state of being a baby, no doubt about it. They should get a medal what they do. All these people com pletely basically a state of being a baby, completely dependent on others for every little thing that happens during your day. So my birthday was are caring, i think itsjust fantastic. I mean its. Ivejust an exciting day, because by then, i lost words to say. All i can say is, was able to sit in a chair beside the bed. That of itself was a giant they are doing a fantasticjob. Step forward. So there i was sitting theyve always got smiley faces and in my chair, and one of the nurses they do make it better for us, you came up and she had obviously looked know . We are expecting things to be at my wristband are my records and said, gosh, isee at my wristband are my records and said, gosh, i see it is your pretty gloomy but they cheer us up. Birthday. What would you like . And i they are great. In all parts of the think i had been in hospital then uk, carers are busy delivering vital for ten days, i had been through the services that people depend on. From mill, ifelt for ten days, i had been through the mill, i felt pretty battered and bedraggled and it suddenly occurred the elderly to the vulnerable and to me, my goodness, wouldnt it be those with complex medical needs, carers are essential in helping fantastic to have a shave . So i people live their everyday lives. Said, i would love a shave. And she rosemary is part of the nursing said, i would love a shave. And she said, all right, i will give you a shave and she then performed that service team for murray carey in act of great kindness very well, and belfast. 0vernight shes been visiting those requiring end of life care. Im finding it really weird later in the afternoon, all of the just to discuss medication with me nurses gathered around my bed and what would be the most because i was exhausted, having been appropriate action so we had a chat sitting up for three hours. And produced a piece of cake with a and ive given the patient and candle on the top and sang happy injectionjust and ive given the patient and injection just expect just to and ive given the patient and birthday. And i have to say, i wept injection just expectjust to help and makea injection just expectjust to help and make a much more comfortable. Like a baby because it was just too magician wayne dobson was diagnosed much emotion. It was too joyful, it with multiple sclerosis in the was too much to contain, i had so 19805. With multiple sclerosis in the 1980s. He was moved to here where much gratitude, it is fabulous. Its his carer wants to help him. Its an incredible feeling as well to know joyful to see someone who has been through the mill with this as well, that makes such a huge difference clearly better now. Just tell us a difference to someone. All my life, little bit about how it affected you in the beginning and when did things my career, i was very difference to someone. All my life, really ta ke in the beginning and when did things really take a turn for the worse . My career, i was very career difference to someone. All my life, my career, i was very career minded and thought about myself. Welcome it was vaguely similar to the Prime Minister, actually, in the sense that i was ill at home for nine days, on the ninth day of itsjust very nice. Pretty consistent temperature of 40 degrees, its just very nice. That itsjust very nice. That hard work continues every day for the millions pretty consistent temperature of 40 degrees, 104, pretty consistent temperature of 40 degrees,104, i didnt pretty consistent temperature of 40 degrees, 104, i didnt actually involved in providing care. We are have a particularly bad cough. And thats why i wasnt really sure at the time that i had covid 19. But a nyway the time that i had covid 19. But anyway i called the ambulance and going to continue talking about the they came out, and they said at that heroes of the hour. A little later well be paying tribute to key workers stage, i think you are best where and those on the frontline you are, stay at home but call if it of the pandemic as part of our hero half hour. Gets any worse. And on day ten, i we did last week, we are having another one. Weve had loads of your messages come through and we will be able to share fell to the floor and vomited on top some throughout the morning. Of everything else, i called the lets take a look at a few now. Ambulance again, they came out and at that stage, clearly my oxygen level in my blood had fallen to unacceptable level in my blood had fallen to u na cce pta ble levels level in my blood had fallen to unacceptable levels and they said, thank you to the nhs for all your you are going to come with us. Ha rd thank you to the nhs for all your hard work. Thank you. Hi, im a thats really when myjourney in hospital began. You say you went through the mill, one of the nurse and im locked down in a hotel. I had a tough day and i toughest days early on in your stay received this note from the novatel in hospital, you sadly lost your father on the day that you are to say im doing a greatjob and hospitalised, is it right you had to watch your own dads funeral from giving love from all the team. Can hospital . Yes, thats absolutely right, he died on the 20th march, you imagine after a hard day . Thank andi right, he died on the 20th march, and i was taken into hospital 21st. You imagine after a hard day . Thank you for loving us. Thank you thank and who would have believed it, when you thank you i would like to say my father was buried, there wasnt a Single Member of the family in attendance. My mother and one of my thank you to the staff and support sisters by that stage had also been workers who work with people with taken off to hospital, and my other brain injuries and help people like myself. Id like to also think our sisters, we were all, everybody was armed forces who are not only at the self isolating at that stage. We did front line of places like nhs have a video clip of the ceremony by nightingale in london but also working tirelessly behind the scenes a kind friend, and so we were all to keep our country safe. Id like actually able to watch the burial, to keep our country safe. Id like to recommend my friend, Vanessa Herrera martin, is one of the and our parish priest saying prayers heroes. She is living a long way over his grave. So we were strangely from her family and together in spirit, even though we heroes. She is living a long way from herfamily and is heroes. She is living a long way from her family and is working very we re together in spirit, even though we long shifts in the royal marsden, were physically fragmented. Extraordinarily difficult times for caring for patients. Thank you everybody. How are you doing now . Thank you thank you. My hero is my well, i feel on everybody. How are you doing now . Well, ifeel on top everybody. How are you doing now . Well, i feel on top of the world. I granddaughter, george oldfield, from have lost 15 of my body weight, i suffolk. One thing we are the morning and well hear doing today, hylton, we are asking from frontline workers just after 8. 30am. You get in touch on people to send in their love for the bbcbrea kfast bbc. Co. Uk or tweet using the hashtag bbcbreakfast. Heroes, the nhs and front line workers, key workers, all those people. Im sure, when we see that video of you coming down the hall of the hospital and people clapping, and you have talked to us about that emotion, i am sure there are individuals and just general staff who you would tribute tribute to this morning. Absolutely. These really are the heroes of the moment. I need more arms for a hashtag. These are the spitfire pilots of 19. Heres carol with a look at this mornings weather. Unlike the rest of you, the whole this morning, if youre stepping nation knows how wonderful the nhs out, its not as cold start of the is, but i now know these individuals day as it was yesterday. Having said by name. I can put faces to these that, if youre in parts of southern kind people. There is maggie, anita, scott windle Northern England, there isa scott windle Northern England, there is a touch of frost here and you may well have had a fabulous view of the super moon as well. Todays weather, rachel, secretary, and i want to say thank you to all of those people sunny spells, feeling warm with the from the bottom of my heart. And exception across scotland and Northern Ireland where we have a priti. It is only by their care, wea k Northern Ireland where we have a weak weather front producing bit more cloud and also some rain which compassion and professionalism, that to the day will increasingly turn iam able compassion and professionalism, that i am able to be here today. You are patchy. The other thing weve got filling us with emotion and joy, some patchy mist and fog across its a really wonderful thing to see parts of the south eastern east you. What are your plans . My plans, anglia. That will lift and a bit more cloud across parts of england i have no plans. Im taking it day and wales than weve seen at recent daysin by day, im trying to put on a little bit of weight, im walking a and wales than weve seen at recent days in that cloud, thick enough for the odd sharp shower but most of us little bit of weight, im walking a little bit of weight, im walking a little bit further every day, i can will miss them altogether and as now walk about 300 yards. And my weather front slips south through the day, it will brighten up with sunshine across the of scotland. Goodness, i just appreciate now walk about 300 yards. And my goodness, ijust appreciate every little thing. I dont need to have temperatures today, well up to 23 big plans. For days, iwas degrees. If you are going outside today for perhaps your permitted amount of exercise, then look at fantasising big plans. For days, iwas fa ntasising about a this. The pollen levels are high across england and wales. Its tree big plans. For days, iwas fantasising about a piece of toast pollen so if you have an allergy to and marmalade, i dont need steak that, do bear that in mind. You this and marmalade, i dont need steak and chips or anything im just loving being here talking to you, its great fantastic to talk to you evening and overnight, our weather as well, im sure our view is front slips southwards across scotla nd front slips southwards across scotland and Northern Ireland, getting into Northern England, one appreciating it, in the dark and or two bits of shower and drizzle worrying times, when people are mixed in but clear skies means its worried about their family and going to be a cold night, cold themselves, to hear your wonderful words this morning. Given what you enough for a touch of frost in parts have been to in terms of your own of the highlands and as we come south of that, no such problem, health, watching your dads funeral on video, what would be your seven, eight, nine but we could have encouragement this morning to people fog tonight across parts of the midlands east anglia to watch out for tomorrow morning. Talking of who are watching and listening to tomorrow, here is our weatherfront this, can you give some words of draped across Northern Ireland and encouragement to people who might be Northern England and scotland, facing Something Like this in their pushing northwards as we go through own family . Absolutely, i would say, the course of the day. You might get the course of the day. You might get the odd shower but not much more ifi than that. South once again, were own family . Absolutely, i would say, if i can make it, anybody can. I think this disease is pretty random, looking at sunny spells, variable it is no respecter of age or sex, amounts of cloud, the odd isolated andi sharp shower, wales, the midlands, it is no respecter of age or sex, and i dont think physicalfitness. But i think that if you just trust perhaps the south east but feeling cooler with the wind coming in from the north sea down the north sea coastline. Move inland and we are in yourself, and, you know, my experience, you just know that you looking at temperatures, 22 for are surrounded by such amazing example in london. 12 in glasgow. People. I dont think you can do it on your own. I was people. I dont think you can do it on your own. I was so people. I dont think you can do it on your own. I was so lucky to have the people around me that i had. I from friday into saturday and was also lucky to have friends and sunday, the easter weekend, we have weather fronts crossing the uk. Family literally around the world in well bring in and some rain, but no prayer groups praying for me, that was a really important thing. I felt means is easter weekend going to be a washout. A lot of dry weather in held not just in was a really important thing. I felt held notjust in my immediate there as well and some sunshine. We surroundings, but also in the world look at good friday first of all, we surroundings, but also in the still have all this cloud in the held notjust in my immediate surroundings, but also in the in the wider world. I encourage others, if you do get it, you can make it north of the country, they can offer some showers. Whether front rating through. Of course, i am conscious that that little video clip you just waiting in the wings. We could showed, the other side of that coin see some sharp showers as parts of wales, parts of the midlands and is, my story is quite special southern scotland and temperatures because unfortunately, there are so on good friday could get up to 24 many others for whom the outcome is different. But it need not be that degrees, making it the warmest day way. You can make it. Having been of the week but then it cools down. Through it and having been in what thank you very much for that and we was clearly a grave and dangerous will see what little later on is easter weekend approaches. You are situation, what is a message to people about what we have been told watching breakfast. Its 6 28am. All by the government, stay at home, stay safe, protect the nhs . The latest headlines coming shortly absolutely, i was lucky, i think i but letting you know what else is on got it, in the sense that my timing the programme. Was lucky, the hospital clearly was busy but it wasnt overwhelmed. And the measures that the government are telling people to follow absolutely little mix has had a lot to do in the lockdown. They will be adapting vital, because self isolation and to the new normal. 0ver self distancing, those are the ways the lockdown. They will be adapting to the new normal. Over the course the morning, we will hearfrom in which the numbers can be limited survivors coronavirus including this to the extent that the nhs can man, who received a guard of honour actually cope. So its absolutely vital that those guidelines are with intensive care staff the day he followed. Thank you. A real pleasure was discharged. My dad is a mechanic to speak to you, thank you so much for bringing us some joy this and my mum sent our kids to morning. Enjoy putting on that rate hospitals. Ain morning. Enjoy putting on that rate again thank you so much thank you. Over the past few weeks, the incredible and age stuff, care and other key workers have been applauded for doing their bit to i love he has all those individuals, keep us all going as part of our he knows who has made a huge hero half hour, we will hear special difference to him. Thank you to m essa 9 es hero half hour, we will hear special messages from some of their biggest bands. Eve ryo ne difference to him. Thank you to everyone on their help front line. Heres carol with a look at this mornings weather. I love these pictures that are the Prime Minister has spent a coming from inside peoples homes. Second night in hospital in london. Downing street has described his condition as stable. Borisjohnson yes, you can see this lovely sky had hoped to see an over seeing the from outside salmons window. The temperatures in cornwall are around lockdown next week. But dominic raab said it would be soon to take that nine, 10 degrees. More cloud around this morning then there was in place. Yesterday. We have got clearer skies initial estimates suggest 10 of the and it is cold, but we are looking uk workforce would end up on the ata and it is cold, but we are looking at a milder start. Today we will see governmentsJob Retention uk workforce would end up on the governments Job Retention scheme which guarantees employs 80 of sunny spells, feeling warm in the their wages. The take up has been so sunshine but we do still have our large that a third may end up on weather front across scotland and furlough costing the government up Northern Ireland and that is Still Producing a fair bit of cloud. High to £40 billion over three months. Pressure dominating our weather as the first coronavirus patients have well. Here is the cloud associated been admitted into the new hospital. With that weather front, still got rain in it, through the day the rain will turn patchy, some extending the temporary Field Hospital, through Northern Ireland. First at the excel centre in london, southern scotland and northern was set up in just nine days england, clearer skies, a super pink to handle the crisis and can accommodate up to 4,000 patients. Moon last night. Further south there its the first of several to be built across the country. The chinese authorities will be sunny breaks and bright have started allowing people to leave wuhan spells but there will be a few where the coronavirus pandemic started. Showers expected today, they will be the city was locked down two and a half months ago. It comes after china reported isolated but you might catch one and no deaths on tuesday, the First Time Since it if you do it is likely to be shot. Most likely in the midlands and southern england. Despite that in began publishing figures. The sunshine, temperatures getting up the sunshine, temperatures getting up to 23 degrees and 10 degrees in stornoway and it will brighten up in the afternoon. This evening and those are some of the main stories overnight we still have the weather around this morning. Front which will slip south. Clear its an unusual and unsettling time for many of us, skies behind in the highlands means and it can sometimes feel like we have more you can expect some pockets of frost questions than answers. And a head of it we are looking at well, were doing our best to try to get to the bottom of some againa and a head of it we are looking at again a variable amounts of cloud, of your concerns and this morning fog patches through the midlands, were joined from cheshire by gp dr fari ahmad. East anglia and south east but lovely to speak to you. Is everybody temperatures holding up here. We will lose the fog tomorrow and tomorrow for much of england and well, first of . Yes, touch wood. I wales, it will be another dry day with again variable amounts of cloud feel it is like a question we need to ask everybody at the moment. We and sometimes we will see the odd are hearing the peak could come this shower coming out of that. Move further north and we do have more weekend. What are you noticing from cloud, still from my week where the your patience and your surgery, how front and that includes northern many more people are getting ireland as well. Despite that there will be bright spell, this coronavirus, what can you tell us . Frontwheel drive north. Cooler down we are certainly seeing the numbers that we see are going up. And what the north sea coastline with an onshore flow. Talk temperatures we are also seeing more of its around 22 degrees. Into friday, a people who have gone into hospital weather front coming in from the and then they are now being allowed atla ntic weather front coming in from the atlantic and that will introduce through the day thick cloud across back out because they are a little bit better, so we are certainly Northern Ireland, southern scotland with some rain. Ahead of that we seeing the numbers of patients that will see some sharp showers because we are having to interact with who north wales, Northern England and southern scotland. It is the far could have it going up. Is there a general sense of symptoms, are they southern scotland. It is the far south where we have the sunshine for changing are the continuing about the longest and it is likely we will see highest temperatures at 24 what they started outwith, a high degrees. I will have more weather in temperature and a persistent cough . Those seem to be the main symptom is about 25 minutes or so. Thank you about people also report a real extreme fatigue, a problem with very much. It is 7 33am. A little aching muscles. There are some later than normal. Reports of sore throats, a few people have tummy issues. Some hello, this is breakfast with dan walker and louise minchin. The Prime Minister has spent rashes. We are seeing different a second night in intensive care in hospital in london. Presentations and it is just something we have got to be aware downing street has described his condition as stable. Of. It is all new and evolving, we Boris Johnson had been due to oversee a review of the lockdown next week. Are learning on thejob but the foreign secretary, dominic raab who is of. It is all new and evolving, we are learning on the job sometimes. Standing in for him some people also talking about hay suggested it was too soon fever at the moment. And some of the for this to take place. Lets speak now to Health Symptoms are similar, are they . Minister edward argar. Fever at the moment. And some of the symptoms are similar, are they7m can bea symptoms are similar, are they7m can be a bit worrying because he good morning to you. Standing season can be a bit worrying because he season mac hay fever season is upon us. You can get a cough if you thank you forjoining us. Is there have behaviour. Streaming eyes and a any update on the Prime Ministers runny nose, a temperature, i would position . The update is what you probably think that is mark hay have already heard, he is fever than the coronavirus. Lets co mforta ble, sta ble have already heard, he is comfortable, stable and in good spirits. While he has had oxygen, he see some questions from viewers, has not been on a ventilator and i lots of people sending in things. Think we are all, judging by the m essa g es think we are all, judging by the messages i am getting from my this is from julia, i am 65 and constituents and others and right across the political spectrum, and have high Blood Pressure. I am eve ryo ne across the political spectrum, everyone is reaching for the Prime Minister to have a full and speedy told that high Blood Pressure could recovery and sent their very best cause complications with wishes to him to be back with us. He coronavirus. Do you know about that . Is not just a wishes to him to be back with us. He is notjust a nations Prime Minister. As dominic raab said there are some individuals who are more at risk. There is some yesterday, he is also for many of us indication that if you do have are yesterday, he is also for many of us a re close yesterday, he is also for many of us are close colleague and friend. We problems like hypertension, wish him at swift and full recovery. Diabetes, chest problems then you may be at higher risk of there are so many decisions that need to be made and things to be complication compared to somebody looked at. We heard the chief else. But having said that, we are medical officer referring to germany, saying they got ahead with certainly seeing people who have got none of those having to go into testing and has a lot to learn. Do hospital and having difficulty you agree . He is absolutely right to managing the disease. So i think, say we should be learning from other yes it does put you at higher risk countries and elsewhere. He is a but if you dont have it, dont be brilliant scientist and it is great to have him back, to have him complacent and think i will be all right. Lots of people have asked recover from his to have him back, to have him recoverfrom his illness. It is important what he said there are these questions before, jodie says about learning from others party is my newborn at risk . also slightly caveat it is comments when he went on to say that yes, these questions before, jodie says is my newborn at risk . I think so far we have not seen cases where there may be other things that we can learn from germany but we are newborns seem to be adversely not clear what their different factors a re affected by it, i think there are not clear what their different factors are within germany that some case reports of women, newborn might be leading to germany having a lower death rate at the moment. It babies who have had it. But they may be testing but he also referred seem to come out of it ok. At this to weather there are demographic moment in time, they do not seem to factors a re to weather there are demographic factors are other societal factors be at greater risk. This is from are testing factors. So i think we need to be a little bit cautious about what it is that is driving sue, she says i am 73 and staying at home. I know this will prevent me that low death rate in germany but i getting the virus, when it is deemed think it is right that really can a lwa ys think it is right that really can always tell the countries and elsewhere to see if theres anything that we can learn that can further to be safe to go out, will be more allow us to build on the progress we are making an beating the disease in this country. Can you give us the prone to getting it. We will have figures, how close are we to 100,000 test today . My boss the health more people prone to getting the virus when we are starting to get out. This is one of the things the secretary was very clear that by the end of this month we would be up to government is looking into and looking at ways to test and see how 100,000 tests a day across the four people will come back to life stop nations of the United Kingdom and it will not probably be everybody at across the five pillars of his and the same time. I think they are the governments testing track looking at ways to mitigate that strategy. I think the latest figures risk, but it is a definite risk. She i have which may be eddie or so out of date that we are up to 40,000 a goes on to say, will there be a plan to immunise us to make it safe to go day. That has been going up in the out. That would be ideal. Theres thousands since i last spoke to you lots of people working on vaccine, which was a ago, that has lots of people working on vaccine, lots of people working on vaccine, lots of people. We do not have dramatically gone up. We are making anything yet. I suspect it will be a dramatically gone up. We are making dramatic progress in ramping up that while we will get a vaccine that we testing and i remain confident that we will hit that 100,000 tests a can use. That will be the plan eventually. All right. The other day. Can we also ask what is question is from matt, will we see a happening with lockdown. We know drop in cases where people coming that on monday it will, we were told down with other viruses like the common cold after lockdown . Many it was three weeks, when will you review it . As you will have heard people have changed their habits and so many ways, we are washing our dominic raab say yesterday, we will hands so often, do you think there review it and we will be led by the will be a change . There will be an Scientific Evidence when that evidence tells us the right time, impact on those certainly. And that we have got the Evidence Base winter vomiting disease and things to make any changes. That is not the that are transmissible from dirty situation at the moment. Although we hands, the numbers of those will go heard from the chief medical adviser down. And kids, because children yesterday that there is a slight positive they are that the rate of happily share bags between each other but they are not at School Growth of the disease appears to be sharing bags and bringing them home. Slowing, and also caution that we i think most people will see a drop should not read too much into one set of figures that what he also as we spend longer in isolation. Gary says is it with the locked been said as it is too early to say when we will reach that peak and when we might be able to make any changes. Therefore the message is clear, 12 weeks, it seems that we are not however lovely it is this weekend, clear, they will not review it. As stay home and protect the nhs and far as we understand it yet. Some save lives. Now is the time we need people have mental definitely 12 to be firm about sticking to that weeks, havent they . Yes, these are message because if we are as the statistics appear to show making a people who have been identified as being at higher risk. If you get the little bit of progress and there, now is the time to hold to it to flu jab normally you are when one make sure we do see those beneficial changes. Can we be specific, on of the people in the high risk categories. And if you have one of monday we were told it was three weeks, that should have been the these conditions, we called it end, so viewers should be expecting shielding, you have to stay home for no change . We have said throughout 12 weeks. If you had that advice, this we will be guided, as we wear when the Prime Minister made the yes. Something that has emerged today, some vets have advised that decision about 2. 5 weeks ago, we we re decision about 2. 5 weeks ago, we were guided by the scientific they should cats indoors wherever evidence. We will continue to be guided by the Scientific Evidence on possible. What is your response . I what that said is that the evidence have a cat and he wonders. I think is still not there that will allow us is still not there that will allow he will not be very happy being kept us to make a decision on that. I would not want to prejudge that at home. I think there have been evidence or pre empt it. It is right some case reports of transmission that however difficult it may be, we from a cat. That they have just been stick with the clear decision, we one or two, there has not been any will follow the evidence when it overwhelming evidence. I thinkjust leads to. The chief medical adviser has said that is not in a position general rules apply, so if you are we are yet. Many people are abiding stroking your cat, make sure you wash your hands and use and you do to it but it is difficult for people. Are you telling us that it the whole 20 seconds. Those basic will rule on indefinitely . It is rules still apply and carry on doing hugely difficult for people, it is difficult forfamilies hugely difficult for people, it is that. You are in contact with so difficult for families and individuals and people are making an many people and it is such a amazing effort to comply with those concerning time, worrying time for restrictions, to comply with those instructions. And they can see from everybody, what are people telling you when they phone you are . Are yesterdays evidence, a little bit they very anxious . Yes. We see the of hope it is working. My messages they have to stick with it, we have range. We do see some people who are all got to stick with it. And we finding it quite hard, you know, i will be guided as to when that period comes to an end by the think it depends on how things work scientists. As dominic raab made for you and having to socially yesterday, that evidence isnt there isolate with. Some people are on yet. What we are doing appears on the evidence to be working but we their own and they are finding it have got to make sure it is working difficult. So we are seeing more and that is why everyone does need Mental Health issues happening to stick to those restrictions. Can because of this. So there are you tell us what the scientific conditions could be to spark a problems happening, but i mean there review . You heard the chief medical are problems happening, but i mean there a re lots of problems happening, but i mean there are lots of people who are actually amazingly stoic about it. Yeah, and adviser and chief medical officer to see where we need to be when we know concerned about as which is very we have hit the peak and when that nice. There is so much consent for is declining. Doctor liam fox, who eve ryo ne nice. There is so much consent for everyone working on the front line. We are talking today about people was a doctor performing at long standing member of the cabinet, he who get through, like you who come said that as long as numbers are going up we have not hit that peak. To ouraid, is we need to start seeing the numbers who get through, like you who come to our aid, is there someone you would like to nominate . Yes, the coming down and that is when you have a sense that that is sustained reception at. These are people who over a period of time that you can see it coming out of that peak. We man ourfront reception at. These are people who man our front desks everywhere who are not there yet and i dont know have dealing with lots of anxious exactly when we will be. The and worried people and they are doing an amazing job. So just keep scientists will tell is that, they are constantly modelling the data going. Thats really lovely. Thank and theyre are constantly modelling the data you very much indeed. I am sure they and they re constantly looking are constantly modelling the data will have seen that message. You and theyre constantly looking at those stats. We should remember there is always a lack of couple of forget that people have to take your weeks in the hospitalisation and death rate data behind the actions call at the first instance. So thank that we have taken to try and slow you very much. It down because that is the nature feel free to nominate your heroes. Of the disease. So we are getting to that two point five week period now where we are starting to see our you know how our viewers know everything, they told us about hot slowing down of it. But we will be cross buns. We were asking earlier about how you get the cross at the guided by them, we have got to be over that peak before we can start top, it is a mixture of flour and thinking about making changes. Over that peak before we can start thinking about making changeslj over that peak before we can start thinking about making changes. I am sure you have probably seen and water. It might be too much family. Heard of these pictures, who is in imight give water. It might be too much family. I might give it a go this weekend. Many new and players in the pack. Slightly more time our hands. What what is your reaction to those . is going on in the world of sport . There has been a message, a serious would say to everyone, that message from the government, lack one. Instruction is, stay at home, the message has been clear protect the nhs, save lives. There to everyone, stay at home. Are limited circumstances in which we are seeing people should not be if you are going out to exercise, do at home. And when they can go out it with someone you live with. Well, apparently its not getting for exercise albeit for work that through to Jose Mourinho after footage emerged overnight on social media of what appears they cannot do, essential work they to be a Training Session at a park in north london involving a number cannot do from their home environment. And in the of tottenham players. Circumstances there is a clear this story features on quite social distancing rules and a few of the back pages this morning including the times. Guidelines set out by the chief tottenham head coach was seen medical officer. I would say to standing with tanguy dombele and two others on hadley common. Everyone, follow the governments instructions and if you have to go out, follow the social distancing you can sort of make it out there. Instructions. I say that to anyone. Mourinho appeared to be would you say they are setting a bad holding a stopwatch and timing a player on a run. Spurs as you might imagine arent example . They good example is that best pleased and have reminded everyone involved about social distancing guidelines. There are millions of people who are meanwhile spurs have released doing the right thing, staying at a statement to confirm their record home or when they do have to go out, goal scorerjimmy greaves following that social distancing is being treated in hospital. Guidance. I am following that social distancing guidance. Iam not following that social distancing guidance. I am not going to take on many will remember greaves, whos individual cases, all i am going to now 80, as a member of the world cup see is what people should be doing winning england squad in 1966. And people can judge whether they are complying with that or whether he scored 44 goals in 57 games they are entering into the spirit for his country and a club record and letter of what we have asked 220 league goals for tottenham. People to do. Thank you very much. I am going to need a quick e mail he suffered a stroke five years ago. Listening to the guest we spoke to we dont know what hes being treated for but were who went into hospital. The expecting an update on his condition interview had me in floods of tears later this morning. The start of the formula one season this morning and reminded me why i has been pushed back further wa nted this morning and reminded me why i wanted to become a registered nurse. The story of his fight on winning after the canadian grand prix was postponed. And his gratitude and optimism and the race was due to take the care he received has given me place on the 14th june. The care he received has given me the drive to press on. I work in a meanwhile, the sports leading organisation has put around half large east midlands emergency its staff on enforced leave department. I can book shifts while senior figures are to take anywhere in a trust but my skill set a salary cut. Is best suited to acute medicine and and could we see this years thatis is best suited to acute medicine and that is where i go. Hilton has royal ascot taking place behind closed doors . Energised me, thank you. What a racings first four lovely message. Lets pick up the classics of the season have all been postponed. Thoughts of what we were talking but those who run royal ascot about about spurs, with holly isabel accept it will have to be who is going to look at that and mid june or nothing, what is ever is going on in the and see no prospect of it taking place in front sport. The message has been clear of 70,000 people a day. To everyone stay at home. And if you are going to exercise, do it is still really hard to imagine it with someone from your own home. Royal ascot taking place without the champagne and the dresses. I have a well, apparently its not getting through to Jose Mourinho. Theory, if we stay at home and open after footage emerged overnight on social media of what appears up theory, if we stay at home and open upa theory, if we stay at home and open up a bottle of fizz, put on a nice to be a Training Session at a park in north london involving a number hat and video call a friend, it of tottenham players. This story features on quite could still work. Yes, sort of. I a few of the back pages this morning including the times tottenham head coach was seen will make it work. You could have standing with three players on hadley common. Your own rules on dresses in the mourinho appeared to be holding a stopwatch and timing a player on a run. Royal box as well, for example . And spurs as you might imagine arent best pleased and have i could have my own royal box in my reminded everyone involved own house. The more you talk about about social distancing guidelines. It, the better this idea is getting. Earlier on the programme, we also heard from mayor time for one of our gentle morning of london sadiq khan who said the playes and manager have workouts. The players and manager have its time now for one our of gentle a responsibility to set an example. Morning workouts from diana moran, my issue is leading by example. And my concern is people, better known as fitness guru the green goddess, to boost our Energy Levels particularly children who may and help keep us moving. Support spurs or may follow well, here we go again. Now, this could present a bit football, me watch these images, pick up a paper, watch of a challenge, notjust for me but for that mobile phone. Lets see if it can cope with this. The internet and think, lets get to the bottom of it today. If it is ok for them, 0ur bottoms. Why isnt it ok for me . The point i would make and, yeah, lets start by warming with politeness and courtesy as ask yourself the question, up, even in this position, is what im doing really necessary . And lets move the arms and the point in answering as we twist and shout. Your question is, no, i dont think it is necessary to be you may find yourselves moving forward a little bit training in close proximity but that doesnt matter, thats quite fun. With another player who may be carrying the virus and what youre ill be out of shot of the camera doing is inadvertently, unintentionally, potentially spreading the virus. Well, not the camera, the mobile phone. You shouldnt be doing that. There we are. Meanwhile, spurs have released keep pumping those arms. A statement to confirm their record until you start puffing a bit, goalscorerjimmy greaves thats what we really trying is being treated in hospital. Many will remember greaves whos now to achieve, warming the body up. 80 as a member of the world cup ready to go on and do winning england squad in 66. He scored 44 goals in 57 games those core muscles. For his country and a club record now, as you get older, or if youre beginning exercise, 220 league goals for tottenham. Its a good idea to tuck your feet under a heavy object. A bed or chair. He suffered a stroke five years ago. And then lie back, always with bent legs. We dont know what hes always with bent legs. Being treated for but were expecting an update on his condition lets get in proper later this morning. The start of the formula one position, there we go. Season has been pushed back further and then were just going to take after the canadian grand prix a nice deep breath, and lift was postponed. The race was due to take ourselves up off the floor. Place on the 14th june. Meanwhile, the sports leading hands on the thighs. Organisation has put around half its staff on enforced leave while seniorfigures nice deep breath as you exercise. Are to take a salary cut. Thats good. My knees are just and could we see this years a little bit apart. Royal ascot taking place behind closed doors . We can do a good ten of those, that will help flatten the tum. Racings first four classics of the season and keep us in good shape have all been postponed. But those who run royal ascot through these difficult times. Accept it will have to be two more. Mid june or nothing, and see no prospect of it taking place in front good, and the last one. Of 70,000 people a day. And relax. Now, stretching yourself out. Give yourself enough room i told him i itold him i plan earlier on, if it from where you are exercising. Ta kes pla ce itold him i plan earlier on, if it takes place behind closed doors, and you can either lie, well, you do lie on your side, fine, i was there at home with my glass of these are my big cat, and i straight out on your side, and you could put have come up with another thing, i your arm out there. Am going to win best dressed as well a glass of fizz and my big but i will put my hand cat. Hat. Under my head for support. Now, take yourself into a banana pop band little mix were due to spend april shape, and then literallyjust lift up and lower the top leg. Promoting their new album and rehearsing for a nationwide tour. But like most of us, working all the thigh muscles, the outside they are now spending their time at home, finding new ways to keep and inside muscles as well. In touch with their fans. Well speak to Leigh Anne Pinnock and jade thirlwall from little mix shortly but first lets hear some of their latest single, break up song. Or, you can exercise more, crook yourfoot, and lift and lower your straight leg. Maybe we can do a good ten of those. Pull in yourtummy as youre doing it. Good. Lift and lower. And that brings me onto my favourite exercise or stretch. So, get yourself comfortable. Nice bent knees. Arms to the side, palms uppermost. Drop the knees over, from the tummy, just dropping from the knees, youre not rolling over. And then turn your head in the opposite direction and feel that lovely stretch we can speak now to Leigh Anne Pinnock and jade thirlwall from little mix. All across your body. Bring the knees back to centre, drop the knees over to the other rocking out to their own single this side, turn your head. Morning nice to see you jiving away im looking out at my lovely garden. Thank you brilliant just point did you guys realise you would have to put so much on hold . We spoke a few weeks ago about this new tv show that has been paused for the adorable. We want to say a big thank moment, the album, you still have you to all the children who took the dates for the tour later in the part in that filming year, but that might have to change and the teachers and nursery staff who helped us. As well. Yes, its so strange we couldnt fit all the messages in today so we will be showing because we had the whole year more on easter sunday. Planned out. To know that it is all being pushed back and its all a bit if you would like to send as someone unknown, and uncertain, but everything is happening, itsjust who you would like to particularly thank, do you do that, and we will all been pushed aside a little bit. Do that through the show today. But it is still going to be a great the temporary Nightingale Hospital at Londons Excel Centre has year, hopefully we can all get started taking in patients. The facility was built to treat through this and get out as soon as those already on a ventilator and could eventually house 4,000 people. We can do. One of the things that meanwhile the number of deaths strikes me as well, it is something in the capital linked to covid 19 reached more than 1,700 yesterday. Lets speak to mayor that fans are so look forward to, at all, its really disappointing for of london, sadiq khan. People. Yeah, we love it more than thank you for talking to us. First anything, seeing the fans up close but it is what it is. All of us are of all, how is everyone in your household at the moment . Were in the same position and there are feeling good. None of the symptoms ways of keeping the fans engaged, whether we end up doing a show online, we will make it work no that people have covid 19 in our household debt, so the things you matter what. I want to ask you both have this, i have been thinking should look out for, a persistent about it quite a lot, about what i missed the most and the first thing cough, temperature or difficulty breathing, if anybody has those i will do and this is all over, what about you . Symptoms, dont go to a e or the gp, i will do and this is all over, what about you . I will be having a big night out, i think. Go out on the go to the 111 nhs website and stay town, i have my own bar up north so at home and self isolate. If it gets very difficult, ring 999 but i will be going there and having a thankfully, we are feeling fine. Cocktail assume is im allowed to. Very difficult, ring 999 but thankfully, we are feeling finem and leigh anne . People end up getting symptoms they cocktail assume is im allowed to. Could go to hospital, we saw the and leighanne . I what a night out, first patients arriving at the nhs i want to dance and drink, be with my friends, with the fam and to Nightingale Hospital, can you give us an Nightingale Hospital, can you give us an idea about how hospitals in the capital in particular are coping . There is some really good news, a few weeks ago we started celebrate life. Talking about celebrating, every few days, we try planning for the worst which was the peak where we would need in london to have a hero half hour where people can nominate those who make a around 8000 intensive care unit big difference to them in their family or people that they look up beds, to give you the scale of the to, a lot of people are picking up people from the nhs who are doing an challenge, we normally have across amazing job. Jade, has it been a the whole of london about 800 intensive care unit beds with source of inspiration for you . We ventilators, oxygen and those sorts of things. Because of the brilliance spoke to a guy who has been in hospital and came out the other side of things. Because of the brilliance of the nhs, the army planners and and now is thanking individuals, has many others, you saw the work that and now is thanking individuals, has a whole new lease of life, has it been an inspiration to see some of we have done, opening the those Amazing Stories on the news Nightingale Hospital, we have the and elsewhere . 10096, its really capacity now to deal with our needs. At the moment thankfully we are important at this time that we see nowhere near reaching 8000. At the moment we still have 25 , about, positive stories as well as the negatives, i have a couple of capacity in the nhs, before we even friends in the nhs up north who are go to the nightingale. So it working so hard, shout out to claire who works in South Shields in south demonstrates the can do attitude of londoners, those around the country, tyneside hospital. These people are who have helped us get ready for the working so hard and it doesnt go peak of the virus. At the moment we unappreciated, i really enjoy doing think that the peak of the virus, the clap for the nhs and carers on a the worst part of the virus will be thursday night. Things like that are ina the worst part of the virus will be in a couple of weeks. Thats why its so important everyone follows really lifting peoples spirits and showing people on the front line the advice, instructions and rules, that we do appreciate them. And stay at home this weekend this well leigh anne . That we do appreciate them. And even though it is easter and the leighanne . Yes, if im having a down day, i think about the key weather will be hot. It would be amazing if the nhs is able to workers, the nhs workers who are risking their lives on the front line and being heroes. You cannot maintain that capacity in the peak of the virus in the coming days. Can really complain about a bit of i ask you one of the other concerns of the week, we saw this last toilet paper when there are people risking their lives out there. Its weekend with the good weather a very anxious time for everybody, particularly in london, concerns watching the news can make people about people not sticking to some of those lockdown measures. What might anxious, any advice at all, we see happening in the capital if that continues . Firstly, its really leigh anne . Anxious, any advice at all, leighanne . Yeah, i think trying to find a routine, i guess, trying to important to give a complete find a routine, i guess, trying to picture, in our capital city we have find what makes you happy, its so strange because a lot of us have more than 9 million londoners and by never dealt with anything like this before, how do we know how to deal and large the vast, vast, vast with it . So i think you just have to majority are following the rules which is to stay at home, only leave find what makes you happy, and for him to get food, medicine, get me,| exercise once a day, or if you find what makes you happy, and for me, i love cooking and that is taking my mind off it. That is my really, really have to go to work. Advice. And jade . I think actually u nfortu nately, really, really have to go to work. Unfortunately, what we saw during some part of last weekend is a small more than ever, talking to my family minority of londoners, not following the social distancing rules. Thats and friends so much more than i normally would, that is a positive, why it is so important to follow those rules. I appreciate that i am i have been a face timing with family every day, surrounding myself lucky, i have a decent sized home and garden but many londoners have with positivity, getting up and not just staying pyjamas all day, which is also fine if you want to do that very small accommodation, no garden, they have children under ten and i have a great idea for your next they have children under ten and they need green spaces. Thats why instagram live, you can do all your it is important to follow rules, exercising and you can be eating exercise once a day, keep your nachos on the safer on the sofa distance from one another, you should not be sunbathing or having that sounds good really good to picnics, those things lead to the virus spreading faster which leads talk to you. Very lovely to see you, to more pressure on the nhs which will lead to more people dying. Can thank you so much. Thank you we did i ask you about bus drivers and record a chat a few weeks ago about measures to protect those around them, bus drivers themselves said their new tv show which we will show you when we get a date on when it there have been a number who have died . This is personal to will be on, speaking to them about there have been a number who have died . This is personalto me, my dad was a bus driver. We have had in their future. Weve been hearing tributes london 14 people working in public to the everyday heroes who are keeping the country running at the moment. Transport losing their lives who had whether its your postman, doctor or supermarket staff, covid 19, including eight bus youve been in touch with your messages of thanks. Drivers. They are in my thoughts and jacquelyn wants to say thank you to those who are prayers, my condolences to their helping their neighbours, families. In our buses in london, we as shes been shopping for a disabled couple who are housebound. Kay wants to thank volunteers have the most enhanced measures in at Community Radio trying to cheer people up, especially those working any buses across the country. We at rossendale radio. Have antiviral disinfectant, the sort of stuff they use in hospitals, meanwhile steph says her dad and brother have been putting their 3d printers to good to make sure everything is clean use making face shields for the nhs. Including the touch points, steering they have enough material wheels, handrails, garages and rest for 600 shields. We will talk to somebody who is doing exactly that later. Rooms. We have also made sure there isa rooms. We have also made sure there is a plastic screen with the driver, and frazer is grateful to cabin crew and those working for the airlines for bringing people back to the uk from abroad while most and we have made sure no passenger of us are in lockdown. Can sit near the driver. All the we have talked to people abroad, real difficulties. Im grateful to things that the drivers can concern about art being addressed. In Carol Kirkwood always, of course london, we have one door in and one is it sunrise or sunset . Sunrise i draw out, we are now piloting in some buses only allowing passengers through the back door to avoid think you are the only two contact with drivers. Its important that we pay tribute to the care there is a bit more clout around as you can see in recent days, so it is workers in the nhs, i pay tribute to not as cold. Sunny spells developing and feeling quite warm. The the transport workers, fire service, people who stack the shelves, and exception is Northern Ireland and all the others who help us in a time parts of scotland where we have a bit more cloud, here is a great big weather front increasingly producing of need. Interesting about the system of one bus on the door. Can i rain. As it slips south, it will ask you about joe brighten up behind it. For england system of one bus on the door. Can i ask you aboutjoe Jose Mourinho and wales, we started with the mist which has now gone, more cloud than and spurs players training on a par, yesterday but nonetheless, still lengthy sunny spells. The cloud could be thick enough for the odd is that concern . In a park. Sharp shower across parts of southern england come into the and spurs players training on a par, midlands and east anglia but most of is that concern . In a parklj us midlands and east anglia but most of us will not see them. Temperatures, and spurs players training on a par, is that concern . In a park. I i think it is about setting a 23 degrees, as we push further north, despite the sunshine, eight standard, children might be picking up to 10 degrees. If you are stepping standard, children might be picking upa paper going, standard, children might be picking up a paper going, if it is ok for out, maybe to do your permitted them, it is ok for me. I have not exercise today, the pollen levels are high. Especially so across left my house for three weeks or so, england and wales. As we move through the evening and overnight, iam using left my house for three weeks or so, i am using skype and other virtual tools to demonstrate it is really the weather front will be slipping necessary to work from home unless southward and tilting, behind it you really need to. I would make the point with politeness and courtesy, sunny skies clear skies, a few ask yourself the question, is what i am doing really necessary . The point patches of mist and fog. Not a cold is, if you answer, no, i dont think it is necessary to train in close night in england. And wales, 10 proximity to a player who possibly degrees in cardiff. We see the has the virus, you are inadvertently spreading the virus and you should not be doing that. In other weather front retreating northwards tomorrow morning, a bright start in countries, there have been regional the north highlands, and behind that lockdown is of hot spots and weather front, for england and specific measures for specific parts wales, variable amounts of cloud once again, thick enough for the odd of the country. Is that something you have considered for london if sharp shower, particularly the midlands, parts of wales, possibly things continue, or could that be a east anglia but they will be the consideration in days or weeks to exception rather than the rule. With come . Can i reassure your viewers, an onshore breeze it will feel quite one of the great things about the cool down the north sea coastline, way our Government Works is top temperatures between seven and 22. Into the easter weekend, high way our Government Works constitutionally, we put aside Party Differences and work together. The pressure has edged into the near good news is i am in regular contact continent, but we have weather with number 10 and the government. Fronts moving in from the atlantic we do talk about these things but we pushing from west to east. This low are working together and at the pressure will start to drift south. Moment there are no plans for london to be treated differently from other all that means is at times, we will see some rain, at times some showers parts of the country. We have to but not a wash out, a lot of dry keep the virus from spreading. When weather as well. Good friday, you can see in the north we still have we we re keep the virus from spreading. When some cloud around, sharp showers, we were speaking previously, london had broadly speaking half the deaths across the country, then we moved to north wales, Northern England and across the country, then we moved to a third, now roughly speaking just southern scotland, but then a over a quarter of the deaths in the weather front brings some rain through the day to Northern Ireland country are in london. Its and western scotland. Top important for everyone to realise wherever you are in the country, temperatures up to 24 degrees. This virus is indiscriminate. We we re this virus is indiscriminate. We were two weeks ahead from other parts of the country, we know birmingham and other parts have big problems, all of us wherever you are should be vigilant, all of us should be washing our hands regularly and thoroughly and staying indoors. Sound advice, thank you for talking to us. Heres carol with a look at this mornings weather. Good advice indeed, dont be tempted out by the weather, sunny spells and once a day and it will remain warm for some of us over the next two days. Thick cloud across scotland and Northern Ireland, producing some increasingly patchy light rain, any good morning, welcome to breakfast with dan walker mist orfog and louise minchin. Increasingly patchy light rain, any mist or fog patches lifting readily. A little bit more cloud across 0ur headlines today a second night in intensive england and wales and we have been care for borisjohnson used to. Hazy sunshine at times, the colleagues say the Prime Minister is in a stable condition cloud thick enough for the odd and good spirits. Shower shower here and there but it will be fairly isolated. Later on, no early review of the uks lockdown restrictions ministers say its too early it will brighten up across the north to tell if theyre working. Highlands where temperatures will be the first patients eight to 10 degrees, further south, arrive at londons new 4,000 bed Nightingale Hospital. Highs of 23. Pollen levels today, the rising cost of keeping workers employed across england and wales they are the governments Job Retention high, so if you are going out for scheme could cost up to £40 billion over three months, your permitted amount of exercise, do bear that in mind if you have an allergy to tree pollen. This evening triple the original estimates. And overnight, sinking south, the front across the south with the thank you mummy for being a doctor. Cloud, cold in the north and further thank you mummy for being a doctor. Thank you mummy for being a doctor. South, we could see some mist and thank you duddy for being a fog is in the midlands, east anglia 01 00 37,134 4294966103 13 29,430 and the south east. Policeman. This morning were celebrating our Unsung Heroes. In the latest of our hero half hours, we say thank you to the nations key workers. You canjoin in keep sending us your messages. Its wednesday 8th april. Our top story. Stable and in good spirits thats the latest on the Prime Minister, who has spent a second night in intensive care in hospital. Borisjohnson is receiving oxygen, but does not need a ventilator at the moment, as he faces the effects of coronavirus. He had been due to oversee a review of the lockdown next week, 21 days after it came into force. But the foreign secretary, dominic raab, who is standing in for him, suggested it was too soon for this to take place. 0ur Political Correspondent Jonathan Blake has the latest. Another night in intensive care for the Prime Minister. Last night, downing street said he was being closely monitored but in good spirits. They described his condition as stable. Get well soon messages from nhs staff. They are among the many wishing borisjohnson well. The man standing in for him sought to reassure the public yesterday. Dominic raab said he was confident the Prime Minister would recover and there was some cautious optimism about the wider picture as well. Although yesterday saw the highest daily increase yet in a number of deaths from coronavirus, rising by 786 to a total of 6157, the number of confirmed cases of the virus rose by 3634 to a total of 55,242. That, said the governments chief scientific adviser, could be a good sign. Its possible that we are beginning to see the beginning of change in terms of the curve flattening a little bit. We wont know that for sure for a week or so. But what were not seeing is an acceleration. Its important that we keep these new cases down, because of course, this in turn leads to the number of people going into hospital. And the aim all along is to reduce the number of cases below the capacity of the nhs and to save lives. But it doesnt mean restrictions in place to slow the spread of coronavirus are likely to be lifted or eased in the nearfuture. Its too early to say when we will actually read side peak and when we might be able to make any changes. Therefore the message at the moment is very clear. However lovely the weather this easter weekend, stay at home, protect the nhs, save lives. Now is the time we need to be really firm, and we want to be firm about sticking to that message. Because if we are, as the statistics appear to show, making a little bit of progress on that, there was the time to hold to it and make sure we do see those beneficial changes. The government insists it is getting on with its work while the Prime Minister remains in hospital. But anxious hours and difficult days lie ahead. Jonathan blake, bbc news. In a moment well speak to our Political Correspondent, nick eardley, who is in downing street. First, lets speak to charlotte rose, who is outside St Thomas Hospital this morning. Charlotte, waiting for the official news on the condition of the Prime Minister, which we expect at some point today . Yes, absolutely. Boris johnson will have woken up this morning having spent a third night here at St Thomas Hospital and a second in the intensive care unit. Downing street said last night that his condition remained stable. That it had not worsened and that he was in good spirits. They did say he will remain however in the intensive ca re will remain however in the intensive care unit for what was described as close monitoring. We know that since he has been in intensive care he has been given oxygen to assisting with breathing. He has not been put on a ventilator. They say that was not necessary. And he has remained conscious throughout. The man standing and has his deputy, dominic raab, was keen to stress at the Daily Briefing yesterday that the Prime Minister is a fighter and he was sure he would make a quick recovery. He also wanted to reassure the public that important government decisions would still be made without Boris Johnson decisions would still be made without borisjohnson out of the government, it would be made by cabinet instead. We are expecting a further update on the pm passed my condition from downing street later. Charlotte, thank you. 0ur Political Correspondent, nick eardley, is outside 10 downing street for us this morning. So many important decisions need to be made, particularly we looked at this morning a little bit about when or if lockdown restrictions might be eased, but there is no early answer, is there . There isnt. I think all the indications so far is that we are going to see a change particularly soon. Arent. When borisjohnson made the announcement about you and have riesgo that these restrictions would be brought in, he said there would be a review after three weeks. And that if the science showed it was possible things could be lifted. At the moment that there is just no sign that ministers or scientific or medical experts that advise them think that those changes have been a significant enough to merit lifting those lockdown restrictions. We had dominic raab saying yesterday the worst thing to do at the moment would be to take the foot off the pedal. The most important thing to keep doing was to make sure that everybody was following restrictions to try and consolidate some of the progress he thinks we have seen so far. You also heard of the chief scientific out of the chief medical adviser is both saying we dont know we are at the peak yet. I think we have probably got a wee while of this left. Quite how long, that is completely unclear, because all of it will be down to what happens in the next few days and weeks. 0k nick, thank you. The first coronavirus patients have arrived at the new nhs Nightingale Hospital at the excel centre in london. The temporary Field Hospital can accommodate up to 4,000 patients. Angus crawford is outside the hospitalfor us this morning. What is the picture there are today . Good morning. Good morning. We know that the first patient began arriving by ambulance last night. We dont know exactly how many are inside. But we do know three things about all patients brought here. Numberone about all patients brought here. Number one they will have tested positive for covid 19. Number two, they will be on a ventilator already. And number three they will have no other co morbidity co morbidity. They will have covid 19 but no other problems associated with the illness. What will they find when they are inside . Well, a world unlike any other in the country at the moment. It is a 42 bed ward that they will be treated in. They will also find because of the staffing pressures they will not be the same kind of staffing you would find another intensive care units. We expect Something Like one nurse six patients. Initially the nightingale said it would be about 500 beds and if demand requires it that would escalate to Something Like 4000 beds. Ultimately that would mean 16,000 people to staff it. In the initial planet was told they would be Something Like 20 Patient Movement every hour. As you can see at the moment its quiet and that has not yet been reached. Thank you for the update, angus. Good to speak to you. The take up of the governments scheme to keep people employed during the Coronavirus Crisis has been much larger than first anticipated. Ninas in the newsroom for us and has more on this one. Good morning. You will remember about three weeks ago the chancellor promised the government would provide up to 80 of salaries of workers who can no longer do their job because of the coronavirus, to make sure that job job because of the coronavirus, to make sure thatjob is still there once this crisis passes. Now at that time the government thought about 10 , 3 million of the British Labour force, would take up this scheme. Figures out today suggest it is said to be more than three times higher than that, with around 9 million workers using the scheme. Big support for businesses but it will cost the treasury up to £40 billion in the next 12 weeks. To give you some context on that, that its roughly the same amount of the government spends every year on police and safety. What it has meant though is that there are millions of workers receiving a large proportion of their salary but who arent working. We are hearing lots of people out taking their skills to the voluntary sector. This is larry, usually works at a top london re sta u ra nt usually works at a top London Restaurant what is now providing meals for nhs staff. Lam only meals for nhs staff. I am only doing 60 covers. This means each day for the next few weeks. It is high volume, mass production. I am leaving a team of 18. Ina production. I am leaving a team of 18. In a day about eight to ten chefs. We do it completely free and volunteering. It is a time we come together and do what we can do to help. You can volunteer what you would have to speak to your boss if you wa nt have to speak to your boss if you want to take any paid work. This has undoubtedly rescued thousands of businesses which would have otherwise struggled, but the government has come in for criticism. Firstly, some workers have not been with their employers long enough to qualify for this scheme. Self employed workers are undera scheme. Self employed workers are under a more complicated scheme where it is harder to get their hands on this money. And also this cash is not available until the end of april. By which time lots of families up and down the country will have had to go several weeks without any income. Nina, thank you. Good morning. It is wednesday morning. Across the uk, people have been sharing their well wishes for the Prime Minister as he spent another day in intensive care. This picture, taken by staff at George Eliot Hospital in nuneaton, flooded social media and has been shared thousands of times online. It makes the front pages as well. Were nowjoined from the hospital by clinical sister tracey emms and senior staff nurse sarah wood, along with bill dobie, who recently spent a night in icu after contracting the virus. Lovely to speak to you all. Thank you for being with us. Tracy, the idea behind the message you came up with . After our handover yesterday morning sarah was speaking about how boris had become unwell overnight. And she wanted to send a message just to say get well soon and a speedy recovery. It escalated from there. Sarah, it took quite a lot of organisation to do it. How did you go about it . Basically, ijust woke up go about it . Basically, ijust woke up in the morning and heard that boris had gone into intensive care. I was driving to work and i said to the doctors and nurses, we need to show our support and give him our best wishes. We know how the disease affects anybody, it is matter who you are, and basically sent him our best wishes. We wish him a speedy recovery. Tracy, how are things at the hospital for you guys recovery. Tracy, how are things at the hospitalfor you guys at recovery. Tracy, how are things at the hospital for you guys at the moment . Talk us through a normal day. We are in a low risk area. We are in orthopaedic. 0ur day to day life is pretty normal, thats what you can say. We are well protected, we are well supported. We escalate anyissues we are well supported. We escalate any issues out of the triage. We are in quitea any issues out of the triage. We are in quite a good place really. And sarah, i noticed the rainbow is behind you as well. Where have they come from . Basically our rainbow wall is from the children and the grandchildren of all the staff that have done our wall of hope, to boost staff and patient morale and spread some cheer. They look lovely. Lets grab some cheer. They look lovely. Lets gmba some cheer. They look lovely. Lets graba word some cheer. They look lovely. Lets grab a word with 90 year old bill, recently out of hospital. Give us an idea of how you are no and how you are recovering . I am great now, thank you very much. Im getting back to what i was before i contracted it. You spent i think one night in icu. Give us an idea of that experience . Yeah, well night in icu. Give us an idea of that experience . Yeah, well i went in with your own infection. Youre in. While i was been treated like that or for that in the icu, they did a sample of my nose and throat. And said they would let me know when the test results came out. And then i was told about coronavirus. I and then i was told about coronavirus. I was and then i was told about coronavirus. I was then moved to a different ward, a little room in private isolation. But i must tell you the nurses and the doctors, theyre angels. I can see why it is not a job, its a vocation. They could not have been kinder, nicer, more loving, more helpful. Ijust cant believe that under the stress that theyre under and the threat to their own lives, they were just so kind and gentle and helpful. I cannot praise them enough. Theyre fantastic. Its lovely to see you say that and say that you are well. I understand that when you are ill people asked you if you were afraid. We re people asked you if you were afraid. Were you . No. Death never entered my mind. Ijust felt, right, im going to get over it, thats it. I will get over it, there is no doubt about that. And i have got over it. And i think instead of us always hearing the numberof think instead of us always hearing the number of deaths, why dont we hear the the number of deaths, why dont we hearthe numberof the number of deaths, why dont we hear the number of people that dont die, that get over it . Its more inspiring for people and its more confident because it its a very frightening disease. I know people do get very worried about it. think thats a really good point, bill, and thats one of the reasons why it is great to talk to people like you, who have been in hospital with coronavirus and come out the other side. Just to come back to tracy and sarah, listening to bill and the wonderful praise he has for the nursing staff that looked after him, louise talked about the rainbows and the clap for the nhs on thursday nights. How much of an impact does that love have a new day to day . Impact does that love have a new daytoday . Its massive. It means everything to us that people care enough to come out and offer their support and food parcels and every single thing, the donations, it means so much to all of us. The public have been really generous and we really appreciated. It makes everything worthwhile. Its what we do anywhere. It makes it worthwhile. Its amazing. We wanted to say thank you from everybody here. Its lovely. He described you as angels. I dont think you work on a coronavirus word but presumably it is having an impact on the whole hospital. What kind of changes are you seeing . Well obviously we have had to change our ppe. We have had to distance ourselves. Every area really, and aspect of the job, has changed. But weve still got a job to do, we still need to come every day and its important we keep each others spirits up. Day and its important we keep each others spirits up. Also the patient as well, because we are obviously not allowing visitors in. It is our job to be there for them as well and to lift their morale because that is the most important thing. Bill, we have heard you give a lovely positive message this morning. I know you are listening to sarah and tracey as well. You talked about the importance of getting those positive m essa g es importance of getting those positive messages out there. There will be lots of people watching this morning, i know you are 90 years old, but whatever your age, morning, i know you are 90 years old, but whateveryourage, people are worried and they are concerned. Do you have something to leave the viewers with this morning, a positive message from someone like yourself who has been in intensive ca re yourself who has been in intensive care and is now recovering from coronavirus . Well, i think its very difficult at times but youve got to make the effort. Once you start to believe that youre going to get over it, youve got to keep believing that. And i am a great believer in the power of positive light, because we all have a pharmacy inside ourselves. Inside our body we have a pharmacy. And we can call on the necessary means to keep us well. But youve got to believe it. And its got to be a sincere belief, and know that you are going to get over it and you will. Positive mind. What a wonderful message. Thank you very much indeed. Its great to hearfrom you and also tracey and sarah. Thank you and also tracey and sarah. Thank you both very much. I would like to get back to work. Great to hear from both of you as well. Thank you on behalf of of everybody that you treat as well. Brilliant. Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to speak to me. Its been a pleasure, bill. You take care of yourself. I officially love bill. Bills message might be of use to the Prime Minister, who is in intensive care. 0ne minister, who is in intensive care. One man who knows him very well is will walden, his friend and former director of communications. He joins us director of communications. He joins us from west london. Good morning. Listening to bill their thinking about talking about the power of positive thinking, all that we are hearing is that the Prime Minister is trying to have that same sort of thought himself about coming through this and seeing the other side . Yeah, morning. It was inspiring to hear from bill. I yeah, morning. It was inspiring to hearfrom bill. Ithink yeah, morning. It was inspiring to hear from bill. I think thats the sort of optimism we need. I think its also the sort of optimism that is very much part of the Prime Ministers make up and its why for the last 24 hours ive been very positive about his chances of recovery. He is a fit guy. Hes actually a lot fitter than he looks. And i think that part of the issue for the public in this already, the whole length of coronavirus worrying them and seeing the Prime Minister struck down, its almost like a sense of the optimism that boris brings is under attack. I think the sooner that we have him fully re cove red sooner that we have him fully recovered and he is in a good place, he is in good hands, back in charge of this whole thing, i think the better for everybody. He has got a stressfuljob. There are decisions to be made every single day. He is not making those decisions at the moment. How do you think a person he is taking currently being in intensive care . Look, i think he is a reluctant patient. He always wore illness likely in the sense that if you had a cough ora likely in the sense that if you had a cough or a cold, he just battled through. He would take the honey and lemon shrug his shoulders and get on with it. He is a pretty stoic individual. Clearly this is very different. This disease can attack anybody. It can take a turn for the worst while seemingly what things we re worst while seemingly what things were ok. He was Getting Better and suddenly there was a decline. He will be taken that seriously. For once he will be doing what he is told to do by the doctors. Hes got a stressfuljob. Ive clearly that probably has not helped the situation. But my understanding is that they try to scale back the workload. From the brief conversation i had with him last week he was very chipper and very much, we are going to beat this. Not that he was going to beat this, i think your site and he definitely was. More that the country is coming together and they will do everything they can to beat it. He will be frustrated that he is where he is, but he is in the best place and he knows that. He has got the best possible care. And he knows that his thoughts will now be about recovery. Once that is under way im sure he can take a reasonable part in the Decision Making process. Dominic raab isa Decision Making process. Dominic raab is a very able deputy. I think certainly in the short term he has the full support of a fantastic Civil Service and the cabinet. There isa Civil Service and the cabinet. There is a lot of talk about him not being borisjohnson. I dont think many cabinet ministers could be Boris Johnson. The Prime Minister is incapacitated at the moment to some degree. He has delegated authority to his deputy. We need to give dominic the time and space to make those crucial decisions with cabinet, with government command the support of colleagues. I think it will do very fine. Interested in your conversation with him last week. There has been some suggestion he should have taken more of a back step and may not have been in the position where he was in the worsening healthy was in now. Do you think he understood the seriousness of what he was last week . Of course. He knew he had coronavirus. He is in charge of britains response to this pandemic. He knows that in certain cases this disease can be fatal and is killing many people around the country. Of course he takes that seriously. He isolated and he rested. I understand his workload was cut back. I dont think its fairto point was cut back. I dont think its fair to point the finger that he has further contributed to that. He has got a very stressfuljob. I dont think that helps matters. He did all he can delimit its effects. What a ghostly show is that it can take a turn for the worst with anybody, however their age, however effective they are. I think that in many cases thatsjust the way they are. I think that in many cases thats just the way the cookie crumbles. Its very unfortunate for him are just as it is unfortunate for many people that it takes a turn for many people that it takes a turn for the worse. Listening to bill, 90 years old, for many people it takes a turn for the better and the majority of people do end up absolutely fine. That is what we have to remember. Thats a good message. Thank you very much. Thank you to produce. Earlier in the programme we spoke to hilton marie philipsen, who was given a guard of honour when he was discharged from leicester royal infirmary. He told us leicester royal infirmary. He told us how grateful he is to the nhs staff who looked after him. Of course, it was one of the great moments of my life. After 12 days in hospitalfor moments of my life. After 12 days in hospital for that particular chapter to end like that was absolutely, you know, astonishing. Iwas to end like that was absolutely, you know, astonishing. I was on a major high. It had been my birthday only the day before, which was a pretty emotional moment as well. But yes, just feeling that i had made it, that i was alive, thanks to the kindness and the professionalism and they compassion of all those people who lined that corridor, doesnt get any better than that. Give us an idea of what your birthday was like the day before . Its moments like that when your gratitude to staff for the Little Things that happen goes through the roof on a day like that . Well, absolutely. When you are as ill as i was, you are reduced to basically the state of being a baby. Com pletely basically the state of being a baby. Completely dependent on others for every little thing that happens during your day. So my birthday was an exciting day because by then i was able to sit in a chair beside the bed. That of itself was a giant step forward. Anyway, there i was sitting in my chair and one of the nurses came up. Sitting in my chair and one of the nurses came up. She looked at my wristband and records and so on and said, gosh, isee wristband and records and so on and said, gosh, i see its your birthday. What would you like . And i think id been in hospital dinefwr sort of ten days. Id been through the meal. Mail. Id been battle and bedraggled. It suddenly occurred to me, my goodness, wouldnt it be fantastic to have a shave . I said, id love a shave. She said, all right, ill give you a shave. She then performed that act of great kindness very well. And later in the afternoon all of the nurses gathered round my bed and, because i was exhausted having been sitting up for three hours, and produced a piece of ca ke three hours, and produced a piece of cake with a candle on the top and sang happy birthday. And i have to say i wept like a baby because it was just too much emotion. Say i wept like a baby because it wasjust too much emotion. It say i wept like a baby because it was just too much emotion. It was too joyful. It was too much to contain. I had so much gratitude. Absolutely lovely. What i want to do is also show you the pictures. Because basically when he left. This is strange, we are talking but we are on. Hello, this is live that was an interview from earlier that we did. What i wanted to say was what was wonderful was when he left icu they lined up, everybody who had been treating him, lined up to give him literally a standing ovation. As he described to us, he really was very grateful very gravely ill and came out and is now looking forward to life. I asked him if he was making any plans. He said he had no plans. He wasjust was making any plans. He said he had no plans. He was just full ofjoy. Its wonderful to hear he is ok. Lots of people getting in touch. Hundreds of people watching having watched helton and bill. Maggie says, like lots of people i am on my own having recently been widowed and my children live a long way away. Missing them. I was feeling sorry for myself. But seeing hilton has maybe realise how lucky i am and that i really have such a lot to be grateful for. His message was so powerful, thank you. Marianne says, i havejust sat and watched hilton over my morning coffee. He was so inspiring, so full of energy and goodwill. He had me in tea rs. Of energy and goodwill. He had me in tears. Not a woe is me inside even having lost his father. If you want to see the full interview, its on our bbc breakfast youtube. We will put it on our social media. If you missed it, make sure you watch it. Carroll, im sure youll agree, we need bill and hilton, we need those wonderful messages alongside some of the grim news we have to bring people at the moment. Absolutely right, dan. Thanks to everybody doing everything they are. Thanks doesnt seem like it is cutting the mustard. It is not a big enough word. Weather wise we have got sunny spells on the cards for today. And in those sunny spells it is going to feel warm. What we have this morning is also a weather front draped across scotland and Northern Ireland. It is producing a fair bit of cloud and increasingly patchy rain. Through the day it will slip further south. Brighter skies to develop across the far north of scotland. For england and for wales we did have some mist. That is now lifted. Variable cloud. Nonetheless there will be sunny spells. Some of there will be sunny spells. Some of the cloud will be thick enough to produce the odd sharp shower. For example across parts of southern england, the midlands, south wales and east anglia. By no means will be old ca shower. Temperatures getting up old ca shower. Temperatures getting up to 21,20 2 degrees. As we go through the day Something Else worth noting is that the pollen levels are high across england and wales, and also across Northern Ireland. If you are stepping out for your permitted exercise today, and you have an allergy to tree pollen, you have been warned. As we head through this evening and overnight, here comes the weather front sinking south. Taking its cloud with it. And also some drizzly bits and pieces. Clearer skies in the north means they will be some pockets of frost. Ahead of it in the south we are looking at some party mist and fog forming across parts of the midlands and east anglia. Not a cold night in england and wales. When the mist and fog left tomorrow, you will find variable amounts of cloud, they can offer the odd sharp shower. Meanwhile, the weather front will have come south through the night, it pivots and moves out of Northern Ireland, back through scotland and north east england. It will feel cool down the north sea coastline with an onshore breeze. In land we are back to some warmth, highs of 21 and 22 degrees. That leads us into the easter weekend. You can see how the easter weekend. You can see how the weather front coming in from the we st the weather front coming in from the west moves east through the weekend, low pressure not too far away during the course of easter sunday. Sinking south. That could clip the south west bringing in some rain. Essentially its not going to be a wash out of this weekend. We are looking at a lot of dry weather. On good friday we have got the dry weather ahead of the weather front coming in from the west, sharp showers Northern Ireland, north wales, southern scotland, and the weather front bringing rain into western scotland and Northern Ireland, highs of 24. Its been a pleasure likewise, thank you can charge we are still not quite used to our new time hello, this is breakfast with dan walker and louise minchin. The Prime Minister has spent a second night in intensive care in hospital in london. Downing street has described his condition as stable. Boris johnson had been due to oversee a review of the lockdown next week. But the Health Minister edward argar told bbc breakfast that restrictions wont be lifted until the science backs it up. The message at the moment is very clear however lovely the weather this easter weekend, stay at home, protect the nhs, save lives. Now is the time we need to be really firm, and Everyone Needs to be firm, about sticking to that message, because, if we are, as the statistics appear to show, making a little bit of progress on that, now is the time to hold to it, so that we make sure that we do see those beneficial changes. Weve been hearing some Amazing Stories this morning. When Tara Jane Langston found herself battling covid 19 in intensive care, she was desperate to tell her friends to not take any chances and to stick to the lockdown measures. She recorded a video from her hospital bed which later went viral on social media and has now been watched millions of times. Lets take a look. Anyone. Tara coughs. Anyone whos thinking of taking chances, just take a look at me. Im in the intensive care unit. I cant breathe without this. Theyve had to. Sew that into my artery. Ive got a cannula. Another cannula. And a catheter. Im actually. Ten times better right now than what i was before. I dont even know ive lost count of the days. Tara jane joins us now from middlesex with her husband richard, who struggled with being unable to visit his wife in hospital because of strict new measures. Ta ra tara jane, tarajane, i tara jane, i love the t shirt, it you are so much well done just give us a little indication, so, you really got very ill with coronavirus . I was really ill and every time i hear that clip, my cough, it brings it all back to me, that cough is like no other. Ive described it as like having glass in your throat and in your lungs. I was talking to somebody on facebook, somebody who ive never met, ive made so many new friends, and they we re made so many new friends, and they were saying the way they described it is like a very, very slow asphyxiation. And when they said that, i said, asphyxiation. And when they said that, isaid, oh, my god, that is exactly what it is like, it goes on for days. And i think the gentleman that he was just talking to said he was in hospitalfor nine or ten days, and that was the same for me, there was lots of similarities, actually. And how are you feeling now, have you still got a bit of a cough, a few symptoms, still getting rid . Yeah, i really need to conserve my energy, going up the stairs, i still get breathless. I am very limited with my toddler, shes got bundles of energy and she likes to run around a lot and i have to say, no, mummy is tired, give mummy a break. But i am recovering well and steadily. Richard, it must have been really tough times for you because presumably you were unable to visit her in hospital, what was it like . Yeah, when the paramedics came on the friday night, and being told that your wife is going to have to be taken into isolation and youre going to have to stay in the house and self isolate going to have to stay in the house and self isolate for 14 going to have to stay in the house and self isolate for 14 days with my daughters, and not being able to visit tara and support her was horrifying. I didnt know if i was going to get a phone because from her the next day, if she was going to survive the night. She would sleep a lot during the day sol would just be anxious to get that phone call, you know . I didnt want to keep pestering her own calling her because i knew she needed the rest, but absolutely harrowing. Im just so grateful to all the nhs trusts that helped us, theyve been absolutely amazing. I would be interested to hear from the pair review this morning, i dont know what your opinion was on coronavirus before tara you contracted it, and richard yourself, and now you see some people, a minority, we should say, flouting the lockdown procedures, how does that make you feel, knowing what you have been through, and richard, feeling you werent sure through, and richard, feeling you we rent sure whether your wife through, and richard, feeling you werent sure whether your wife was going to be coming home . Yeah, certainly, it has given us an absolute grounding. To stay at home is absolutely key, and listen to that message, because when you experience it first hand, i mean, ta ra experience it first hand, i mean, tara is fit and healthy, you think, this is never going to happen to us. And it did. And it took us to the point where tara was saying to me, i just want you to be happy, live your life. Because she thought a genuinely she was going to die. thought i was going to die, i found him and said, if you meet someone, i just want you to be happy. That is how much i thought i was going to die. I spoke to a very, very dear friend yesterday, and she lost her uncle yesterday, and 11 days ago, lost her auntie, and her grandmother is very sick, and that three people. And it really has hit home just how serious this is. She actually came up serious this is. She actually came up with a fantastic idea, that when this is all over, we need to have a national day of mourning, because so many lives are being lost, and were in our houses, we cant go to funerals, we cant go to hospitals, and its just so sad. So anyone whos thinking of flouting the rules, stop being selfish, please, think of all the lives that being lost. Devastating for her, obviously, as well. Richard, what about the rest of you, where you 0k . Myself and my eldest daughter, we heard more symptoms. We really stuck together, to be honest. Annabel was a really big support to me and i was for her, we really stuck together. And we pulled through it. It was difficult at times. It was just, you didnt know what to say to the girls, but we got through it. Just going back, just listening to taras clip again brings back so many emotions, just the fear, the anxiety, youve got things coming from different angles. When she went viral, we have Media Outlets contacting me constantly, i had my business, e mails, everything coming in that way. And obviously looking after the girls, worrying about tara if she is going to make it through. It wasjust, it if she is going to make it through. It was just, it was a nightmare. If she is going to make it through. It wasjust, it was a nightmare. Im just so pleased weve got through it. But certainly we want to keep spreading the message this is serious, this is real. Although you cant see it, youre being asked to stay at home, and no one can see whats going on, its only from what you hear in the papers but it is very real, there is a reason. appreciate it, and i love your t shirt, tara, its brilliant. Good luck with the rest of your recovery. Intensive care units across the uk are working tirelessly to treat many more coronavirus patients. Lets speak now with one of those medics on the frontline, dr helen buglass, whos a consultant in intensive care in west yorkshire. I know youve been listening to our previous guests. Thank you for the amazing job that you and many other people are doing what is life and work like at the moment . Work is very strange, very surreal. You take everyday as it is. The staff, eve ryo ne everyday as it is. The staff, everyone in the hospital, hasjust pulled together and is amazing, from porters to cleaners to nurses who have never worked in intensive care, to our amazing intensive care nurses and all my colleagues and all the junior doctors, everyone is coming together and fighting to get through this. Speaking to tara, she is young, healthy, and this it seems can really affect anyone . Yes, we have not seen it up in yorkshire to the same degree as in london yet, but we are still very busy, and we have seen a lot of fit and well patients on ventilators, who are young, who have no comorbidities. So, its really important for people to stay at home. A lot of people thinking about the Prime Minister this morning, and the fact that he has got his second night in icu, when patients come in, what signs of improvement are you looking for which will then enable them to go off toa which will then enable them to go off to a normal ward on the hospital . Basically, when people start to get better, youve got the two sorts of patients that we have got in intensive care, the ones who arejust got in intensive care, the ones who are just getting oxidant via masks, ona are just getting oxidant via masks, on a cpap system, and generally, the breathing gets easier, they are able to talk, they are able to eat, the oxygen requirement is getting less, and they start to look better actually from the end of the bed. The ones on ventilators, it is taking a lot longer to get them off, and again, it is the same, less oxygen they are requiring, and support from the ventilators. Michelle told us how they have been going the extra mile to keep residents connected to their loved ones. Were joined now by two carers from the home, claire davie and Lena Williamson and managerJackie Bodden. Good morning to you all, thank you very much forjoining us. Claire davie, tell us what things are like in the home, because presumably loved ones cant come in any more . No, not at the minute. Some of the residents are going to the windows to see people, and we are doing face and messenger, which the residents are and messenger, which the residents a re really and messenger, which the residents are really enjoying. And Lena Williamson, give us an idea of some of the things you are doing to try and make things comfortable for both of the people who are in the home and those who would love to see them as well . Were doing activities, music, filling in at the moment, trying to keep the spirits up. We have got a secure garden. We have got a bit of a problem with your sound, but it is not your fault, dont worry. I am going to talk to Jackie Bodden briefly, these are tough times, and its really clear that you and your staff are going the extra mile, what is the most important thing to you . Keeping everyone safe, keeping everyone happy, taking care of everybody, really. It is quite hard to hear you at the moment, i think, i know it sounds boring for our viewers, but i think the fact that all the sound is coming out from various speakers, we cant hear your voices very well. What we are going to do, weve got something which hopefully you can listen to. Weve got a surprise for you family members of some of the residents in the home have been in touch. Heres what they wanted to say. I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the staff, youre looking after my mum so brilliantly at this really difficult time. Really appreciate what youre doing. This isa appreciate what youre doing. This is a message for all the staff at Woodside Grange. I would like to say thank you so much for all the care and support that you give to my mum margaret. This is a perfect time to express our thanks and gratitude to all of the special staff at Woodside Grange. You care for our loved ones, you are all valued, protecting and keeping spirits up, youre all amazing. Thank you, to Woodside Grange. I am really hoping that you can hear those messages from families as well. Jackie, there is so much admiration for all the work that you do, and is it good at least to get some messages like that of thanks and appreciation . Yes, it is, because we are all right and in these times, we are doing our very best to keep everybody happy. Sometimes carers in the past have got negative press so it is nice to hear those messages, very nice. And hopefully you can hear this, janet, what about the personal protective equipment that you have . We are very lucky, they have sought ppe for us so we are very lucky, they have sought ppe for us so we are very well protected. We are all quite healthy and everything out the minute so that is good. They have sourced ppe for us. Thank you very much all of you forjoining us. I think generally the message is, appreciation for some of those people going above and beyond to make life a little bit easier for others. Many more of you have been in touch to pay tribute to care workers, too. Barry asked us to thank his carer sharon. He said without her, he wouldnt be able to cope. And sue messaged to thank her 98 year old mums wonderful carerjodie, saying she doesnt know what she would do without her. From feeding the elderly to providing end of life support, our reporter adam mcclean has been finding out how much of a difference its all making to those who need it most. This Daycare Centre in south manchester would normally feed its elderly visitors here every day, but this team are taking their service to the doorstep, keeping in touch and feeding those who need help. Still keep in contact with those people who normally come in and they rely on the day centre. Even if its just taking the dinners to them, and to still have that contact. This team are delivering hot meals and supplies for those who cant go out or have nobody to shop for them. The people who use the service are grateful for support. Theyre heroes, theres no doubt about it, they should get a medal for what they do. All these people that are all caring, and girls like yourselves, these ladies here who have helped me, i think its just fantastic. Imean, its. Im just lost for words to say. All i can say is that they do a fantasticjob. Theyve always got smiley faces and, yes, they do make it better for us, you know. Were expecting things to be pretty gloomy, they cheer
