And after a frustrating, rain effected week, at the cricket world cup, england are expecting better weather, as they take on west indies in southampton later today. Injury in new zealand, another washout. India and new zealand. England should be better. The weather is causing problems at the moment. So much rain. So much rain. Heres matt with a look at this mornings weather. Itsjune, its june, we itsjune, we have the cricket, we have festivals going on and all the Emergency Services problems because the flooding. Three months worth of rainfall in parts of the uk. In northumberland, one spot had their wettest ju ne northumberland, one spot had their wettest june day on northumberland, one spot had their wettestjune day on record. Things are set to improve a little bit. The persistent rain weve got this morning will gradually ease away, turning to sunshine and showers, if you are heading towards southampton for the cricket, it looks a lot better than it has done as well. The reason behind such persistent rain across the uk, this area of low pressure has been stuck right of the uk. Air is rising, it is moving a bit further westwards. Thats why we will see improvements. The North West Highlands of scotland will not have much rain. Still across much of wales, central and northern england, or persistent rain this morning but not as heavy as it has been in towards the south coast, the sunshine, east anglia, really not desperately happy across wales, the midlands, northern england, though there could be the odd moderate burst mixed in. A miserable commute for some. Scotland and Northern Ireland looking drier and brighter. Notice the wind direction. Its going to clear away the terrain from the highlands over the next few hours. Before easing. With a southerly wind, its going to start to feel a bit warmer. Similar persistent rain with england and wales. A few heavy showers. More of you will spend the afternoon. A reasonably bright day for scotland. It could turn heavy and thundery. Temperatures up on yesterday, 16 20 celsius than most of you. It will feel a bit warmer. Into tonight, dry for a time across many eastern areas but in the west, we will see more rain return. Into the morning, so outbreaks of rain. The low pressure never really gets away and pushes our weather front into saturday so the rightful of thumper saturday, eastern areas, the best of the dryer and brighter weather. Western areas could turn brighter. Just a few showers into the afternoon. As i said, showers in the forecast, temperatures still into the upper teams on saturday and the same again on sunday. Sunday once more, story of sunshine and showers. Showers most frequent across northern Western Areas and some eastern areas staying largely dry yet again. The persistent rain should have at least eased. That is some good news at least. Exactly. It is a 16 minutes past six. Lets take a look at todays papers. The comedian jo brand is on the front page of the daily star after her comments on a comedy panel show, about throwing acid over nigel farage. The paper reports that police are investigating and sasto brand insists shes not employed by the bbc so how can they sack me . The times is among many of the papers to lead on borisjohnsons success in the first round of the conservative leadership race. The paper says the former foreign secretary is being accused of hiding from tv debates, and is facing intense pressure to take part, after other candidates have already signed up. The guardian leads with a picture of an assault on two tankers in the gulf of oman. The paper reports that the us blames iran for the attacks in the shipping route, worsening tensions between the two countries. The daily mirror says len goodman, dame esther ranzen, and Ricky Tomlinson are leading a campaign to keep free tv licences for the over 755. The paper also shows a picture of Grenfell Tower, lit up to mark two years since the fire which killed 72 people. Mike is with us to have a quick look through some of the back pages. Back page of the mirror, the managerial hotseat at chelsea. Juventus are quite keen to take the manager to italy. That would leave a vacancy for frank lampard. The pressures on chelsea to make a decision on what will is stamford bridge. Chris froome, thankfully he has come through the operation. He had some good news as well. In the paper, inside the daily mail, dan martin, one of his rivals, feared he was dead after crashing into that wall. He had a six hour operation. When he came round he was told he had potentially one the vuelta a espana. The winner is part of a doping case and at the moment is facing an investigation for that. It is pending an appeal and going to the court of arbitration for sport, potentially. His surgeon has been talking and that everything is gone as planned and paying much to his spirit. Before going into acting after injury. Serious footballer. He was. Before going into acting after injurylj wa nt going into acting after injury. wa nt to going into acting after injury. want to draw your attention to this one. When things are a bit grim and the politics and you are bothered by atmosphere. The movies can be a distraction for you. This is toy story four. Which is coming out now. Already in this review it is given a big thumbs up. I had not realised that it was 2010 since toy story three. And it was 1995 when toy story one came out. The point is making another people are made, lots of people for whom this was their childhood. If you are in your early 20s, maybe in your 30s now, this film, toy story, all the time has passed. Apparently the film he says is very good. I was 20 when the first one came out and they loved it. It was great. Sticking with the film theme. If you are a bond fan. A massive bond bad. And you have seen sean connery in this outfit in gold finger. You can now buy it. Just so you two know. A flannel onesie is now on sale. It is telling. Fla nnelette. Now on sale. It is telling. Flannelette. I think so. Now on sale. It is telling. Flannelette. Ithink so. It is now on sale. It is telling. Flannelette. I think so. It is very useful. You can try and be wet at the same time. It has a little belt. Can you close in on that. Look at that. A nice little touch. Very nice. To keep the darmian. It could be if that was necessary tummy in. Greenock morton. Think that is who he played for. You are one of those people. Is nothing bad. 0nly good. You talk to people a lot. When you are out and about, have been with you, you engage with people all the time. That is why i never get anywhere on time stop you judges strangers quite happily. All the time. They cant stop myself. It can get annoying. Do you not, charlie . We are talking about it today, because there is new research from america suggests that those who do have a significantly happier time than those who dont. This is strangers. It kind of works. You are a very, very happy person. But is that true in britain . As part of the bbcs crossing divides season, which aims to bring people together, weve sentjohn maguire to make small talk on the number 11 bus in birmingham. Iam not i am not sure that you are the kind of person i would want to talk to on the bus. Laughter. Is that because you dont know how to pronounce my name . A good time on the bus this morning. All you need to do is get on the bus with a camera and with a support team, that is the trick. Then everyone will talk to you this morning. Wont they . Yes. Whether they have a choice or not. It is a fascinating area. We spent some time with researchers from the university of essex who have been doing this as an experiment, inputting the data onto a smart phone up to see if people are happy if strange odd characters like myself walk up to them and start having a chat. This is how we got on. At least the sun is out. Theyjust wa nt to at least the sun is out. Theyjust want to sit outside at a cafe or something. We may want our children of stranger danger, but the idea here is for adults to build bridges by talking to someone thereve never met before. And researchers at the university of essex have been doing exactly that. Were filming from a distance that as not to affect the experiment. We will want to know if people are willing to talk to strangers and may conversations, because it is not usual that a stranger will come up to you and talk to you about something grander. After the conversation, jessica rise up after the conversation, jessica rise upfindings. After the conversation, jessica rise up findings. Random. They have to estimate how happy they are to talk to me and how happy am to talk to them. Are you a chatty person . You strike up conversations with strangers . Id just talk to anybody, everybody. They always talk to me. People are generally quite friendly. In the day i was a nurse. That is pretty much what nurses do, communicate full as part of the bbcs crossing devise initiatives, aimed at forging links across disparate groups, the scientists have developed an app. You can play along on your smart phone. Download goose chase and then look for crossing devise, bbc. A pub is an entire list of people you might like to strike up a conversation with. Baggage, blue mood, someone who seems to be sad, or bossy pants, find someone who looks like a leader and talk to them for a few minutes. You can then import the data about your conversation, that helps the university and it makes for good citizen science. The aim is to break down barriers, learn something new starting with a blank canvas and exploring the art of conversation. Don maguire, bbc news, colchester. You can make friends wherever you go when you talk to people on public transport. You have been behind all of this research. A slightly odd situation because we are here with a live camera. That is causing a certain amount of interest. Tell us, what do we feel, what happens to us, what do we feel, what happens to us, what is the psychology of talking to strangers . A lot of people are quite nervous about it. You wouldnt know from today, obviously. And there are all sorts of things, we get stuck in our head. We worry about what were going to do if we say the wrong thing or talk too much, talk to little, we worry about what they are going to say, how are they going to feel, will they want to talk to me, will be bothered . We have a negative voice in our head about our performance. There is Research Showing that people like you more than you think. So we shouldnt get so than you think. So we shouldnt get so caught up in our heads. than you think. So we shouldnt get so caught up in our heads. I get voices in my head as well. It is normally charlie and naga. You should obviously talk to everybody, there are certain warning signs that some people wont want you to talk to them. Sure. A lot of people, either on purpose or not, send the message by being plugged in all the time. Im not here advocating when you hassle people or talk to everybody. Some people dont want to talk. You know what, we are going to get this back. We will getjohn back. That is the treat of the day. I was watching a little bit ofjohn on the bus while you made the film he made. He had already made friends with the people. He had been chatting to the lady who was leaving just then. It was about to say goodbye, obviously. So lovely. On the number 11 bus all morning. If you are out and about in birmingham and you get the number 11 bus, jump on as and you get the number 11 bus, jump onasa and you get the number 11 bus, jump on as a hello tojohn. Is quite friendly for some a lovely man. For more information about crossing divides go to bbc. Co. Uk crossingdivides. Time now to get the news, travel, and weather where you are. At eight oclock this evening, england and argentina, when you think about foot falling rivalries. Is slightly different. Expecting another big audience. England and scotland return to action today at the womens world cup with huge games for both phil neville and shelley kerrs sides. Scotland are looking to bounce back from that opening defeat as they take onjapan whilst england are reigniting an old footballing rivalry with argentina. It gives me great pleasure to be able to announce. These days, englands women have supporters of every level. Peter paris will wear the number seven shot. The profile of the players has never been higher. Here in france, they even have their own daily show. 22 support staff have travelled with the lionesses from strength and conditioning coaches to their own chef. This team is one of the best funded in the world. Last year, the fa invested nearly £80 million in womens foot tall. Its helped england rise to third in the world and its money their next opponents, argentina, can only dream of. We sat here in this position of being humble lionesses, you appreciate the work they have done for us. Being at the world cup hopefully opens argentinas fa eyes and allows them to fall in love with the womens game like our fa has. The result for argentina. Argentina have already made history in france after they picked up our first ever world made history in france after they picked up ourfirst ever world cup point against the 2011 champions, japan. A shock result when number of reasons. In many ways argentina right here in spite of their federation rather than because of them. They qualified to this world cup despite a two year hiatus in which they played no matches, had no coach and fell out of the World Rankings altogether. For these players, their whole careers have been about overcoming adversity. Translation i say it was very difficult, not easy at all. Wed been fighting all this time in argentina and what we do now will make it easier for those who come after us. Scotland are also making a statement in the first world cup. Although on the losing side against england, they know they are playing better than ever. This is the best tea m better than ever. This is the best team ive ever played in without a doubt. Like, everyone is really good character, really supportive, wants each other to do well and they are a lwa ys each other to do well and they are always helping each other and yes, i think that helps on the pitch. Its that togetherness that could see them cause an upset when they play japan. Both scotland and argentina are facing teams above them in ranking and resources. All they can do now is hope to be equals on the pitch. Jamaica against italy is the other game in the tournament today. Yesterday saw a remarkable match between brazil and australia, with australia coming from two goals down to win 3 2. Brazil went ahead through captain marta, she is the all time leading world cup goalscorer and they added a second before half time. But after the break back came the australians, this own goal eventually giving them victory. Huge celebrations on the final whistle for them. Elsewhere, south africas tournament looks all but over after they were beaten 1 nil by china. Li ying with the only goal of the game. Golfs third major of the year is under way at pebble beach with englandsjustin rose leading by one shot, after finishing with three successive birdies, to hold a one shot lead. The california coastline throws up some unexpected challenges for all the players, and as youre about to see also the local wildlife. This deer not only held up play, for a while with his charge up the fairway, but probably also did some damage to the greens. England are back in action this morning, taking on the west indies in southampton. Joffra archer is expected to be involved. He was brought up in the carribean but his captain, eoin morgan who was born and raised in ireland says he is glad he is with england. Its great that he is in an england shirt at the moment. He wont know how it will feel until he plays the game, being in that position myself, does feel different the first time you play against a side that either you play against a side that either you could have potentially played for or played for but im sure he will handle it like he has handled Everything Else he has been offered. It was another frustrating day at the cricket world cup with the match between new zealand and india rained off at trent bridge, without a ball being bowled. Its the fourth match in the tournament to be lost to rain, the previous record for a world cup was two. Persistent rain in nottingham prevented the captains even getting out there for the coin toss. Londons metropolitan police are considering whether a joke made by comedian jo brand amounts to incitement of violence, after she suggested people who throw milkshakes at politicians should use battery acid instead. The comments, which she made during a bbc radio 4 comedy show, have since been removed from a catch up version of the programme. Lets discuss this with comedian konstantin kisin, whojoins us from our london newsroom. Ican i can see why people are angry about it. There is a tremendous double standard going on. With someone who is neither right nor left wing, if this had been a right wing comedian talking about a left wing politician, say diane abbott, their career would be over. They would be ostracised and never be on television. Having said that, the way you fix that double standard is by treating everybody equally badly. Jo brand was performing as part of comedy talk show called heresy. You can expect that something controversial will be said. If you start to live in a society where people get sick to investigate them forjokes, which is already happening. You know that society is not really free anymore. happening. You know that society is not really free anymore. I will reflect. Nigel farage has given an interview and said, when you compared that the joke could have been made about diane abbott. Just because it is me, there are some on the left to believe in the european project to believe i am the devil demon. 0ur politicians fair game . If they are fairgame, demon. 0ur politicians fair game . If they are fair game, how far can you go . I dont think that jo brand would argue that this is one of the best drugs, its probably crossed the line. But as comedians, we dont know what is funny until weve said it and know what is funny until weve said itand am know what is funny until weve said it and am a bit disappointed with nigel farage on this one because usually stands up for free speech. I think this is an issue of where people need to ignore the Party Political side of this and say look, if we have a society in which comedians start to get investigated by the police for jokes that they tell, were not really living in a free society but an interesting point here as well in terms of the bbc, it seems its been heavily focused on the diversity agenda which is a good thing but one of the things that doesnt seem to be reflect could is diversity of opinion. There is clearly no in the production room actually said book, this might annoy half the country andi this might annoy half the country and i think thats telling. Theresa may has said, why the joke is appropriate contact. She has waded into that. The metropolitan police has said it has received an allegation of incitement to violence that was reported to the metropolitan police on the 13th of june. I surprised . Im not surprised. This is something i have dr ruff sometime. Have a creeping authoritarianism in this country. My show is about that. Your viewers might remember about six months ago they turned out a safe space behavioural contract from a university was that they had a zero tolerance policy on racism, sexism, classes, able is, homophobia, islamophobia, anti religion, anti atheism, and demanded that alljokes must be respectful and kind. So this is happening in society more broadly and were starting to see, think, over 3000 people were arrested for things they set online. Youre finding people arrested and prosecuted and found guilty for things they say for jokes that they try to make. So im not surprised. A lot of us have been warning that this has been coming. The Sun Newspaper is also reporting thatjo brand was in front of an audience in henley and said looking back, it probably was somewhat a crass and illjudged joke something you have alluded to she said that it was a joke and she made a mistake. If you go too far, be prepared to say sorry . Go too far, be prepared to say i go too far, be prepared to say sorry . I hope not. Ithink go too far, be prepared to say sorry . I hope not. I think she has apologised. I think she has taken a pretty good stand on this in terms of not really apologising fully. And they dont think she should apologise. Alone we have to hold is to say that comedians have the right to say that comedians have the right tojoke and to say that comedians have the right to joke and to to say that comedians have the right tojoke and to make mistakes. In making mistakes is part of the process making mistakes is part of the process and making mistakes. This isa process and making mistakes. This is a point, it is a crucial moment, actually, in this country, for us to make a decision. We want live in a society where you have is free speech or license speech, where what you are allowed to say is determined by the police, essentially. Thank you very much for talking for some brea kfast you very much for talking for some breakfast this morning. There has been a lot of rain. Causing some problems. Ben is out and about for us today. We are talking about something that is a new word for me. Unicorn companies. This is fast start up tech companies. Is that the idea . You are right. Unicorns, a word we should probably get used to, quite frankly. It means a tech start up that is valued at more than 1 billion. We are pretty good at making them in this country. This week marks the end of london tech week. Where we are this morning, it is right in the heart of the lip. Remember 2012, this was the big media centre. We heard a lot about legacy. This is a tech hub. It brings together all sorts of firms doing impressive stuff. We will show you around later. Some of the firms based here, some of the firms that are looking for that unicorn status, evaluation of more than 1 billion. Great news, we are competing, we are throwing our weight around versus Silicon Valley in the United States and also china, which is growing. Let me introduce you to two people. Rhyce shaw is here from london tech advocates. Also tabitha, the co founder of commission eggs. Let me start with you in terms of tech week. It is an important week. Lets talk about unicorns. Were good about making them. Its been what they are in my we are so good at making them we are really good at making them we are really good at making tech unicorns. London, uk is becoming a world leader in tech. The Prime Minister was here at the start of the week to kick off london tech week. What we have seen over the past four years is that across the country Many Companies are merging ona country Many Companies are merging on a global scale. We can compete with Silicon Valley. We can compete with Silicon Valley. We can compete with china. We have great Financial Technology businesses. We have over 70 unicorns now across the uk. Really exciting for us. Really exciting and that we can do this right here in london. Tablet, extend to mea right here in london. Tablet, extend to me a bit about al, it is something we are hearing increasingly. Artificial intelligence tabitha. What does it mean for us . It is when we are able to get machines to learn, based on the data we humans give them, and they do that autonomously themselves. We can apply to problems we have not been able to sell before. Im hoping it will be useful for things like the climate crisis. Give us a sense of what that means forjobs. People are probably quite worried about machines, robots taking theirjobs. Worried about machines, robots taking their jobs. Does worried about machines, robots taking theirjobs. Does it mean that for every of goes to tech we lose it or does it create new ones . There is a net increase injobs. The challenge is making sure that those jobs go to the right people and we retrain people to be able to work with us technology. That is what was amazing about the row ministers amazing about the row ministers amazing on monday. The money for retraining and reskilling. What a love about the money that was allocated was that it is actually for people who havent already been in stem degrees. It will increase diversity in people in Artificial Intelligence and they can start using these courses next year. That isa using these courses next year. That is a real issue. Retraining people. Thejobs are is a real issue. Retraining people. The jobs are available, we are creating them in the uk, notjust in london, cambridge, manchester, leeds, birmingham all doing really well. Edinburgh, bristol. The list goes on and on. Talent is the name of the game. The work that people like tabatha of the game. The work that people like ta batha are of the game. The work that people like tabatha are doing to get people into the sector is great. Anyone can come into the tech sector. It is not just coders and programmers and software developers. It is designers, artists, project managers, the growth in this act is enormous. We have a lot of vacancies to fill stop a report from technician this week said 20 of the vacancies in the uk are digital related jobs. So we have a lot of work to do. But we can do it and we can keep building. For now, thank you both. There you have it. A real Success Story in this country as far asjobs and Success Story in this country as far as jobs and growth are concerned. We will show you some of the firms that are here later. Looking at 3 d printing. You might notice there is a computer. It is the only part of the country that these little scooters are legal to drive there isa scooters are legal to drive there is a scooter here. Before that we will get the news, travel, and whether you are watching breakfast morning. Good morning from bbc london news. Im victoria hollins. It wont be as wet as it has been in recent days. In fact, for many of us it could stay completely dry all day. But there is some early cloud around and some showers as well. Theres a weather front sat to the north west of us. The further south and east you are the more likely you are to stay dry for most of the day. Therell even be decent spells of sunshine as we head through the afternoon. So heres the morning then. Were starting off with those early showers out towards the north and the west. The cloud will gradually start to break up, particularly as we head toward the afternoon. And well see spells of sunshine emerge. You wouldnt totally rule out the odds stray shower here and there. It isjune after all and it will feel pleasantly warm the sunshine with highs between 18 20 celsius for most of us. The breeze a bit lighter than it was yesterday and then overnight tonight we should see quite a nice evening. A bit of cloud, temperatures falling to around 9 10 celsius into tomorrow morning. Hundreds of passengers are rescued from a train in northamptonshire overnight after heavy rain caused a landslide and widespread flooding. In lincolnshire, raf helicopter crews worked into the early hours after a river burst its bank, forcing 100 people from their homes. And that flooding comes on the back of another month worth of rain across some parts of the uk. There are signs of improvement in the forecast, details in 15 minutes. Survivors and the families of those who lost their lives in the fire at Grenfell Tower will come together today to mark the second anniversary of the tragedy. Figures seen by bbc Breakfast Show that more than 8,000 people have been assessed for trauma by a dedicated Mental Health team. Graham satchell has more. Grenfell tower was lit up overnight to mark two years since the fire. The impact on the community here, the trauma, only now becoming fully apparent. The community lost a lot of people. When the tragedy happened, everyone was so confused as to what was going on. Sabre spent the night of the fire trying to help people. What he witnessed still haunts him. Ill never forget. Never, everforget. What i saw that night was trauma from not sleeping to not eating and i think it was all a combination. Thank god i came here and i saw someone about it and ive sort of taken it step by step. Sabre has been getting help from the Grenfell Health and wellbeing service run by the nhs. They have now seen an extraordinary number of people. In the last two years, almost 8,000 residents in the area have been screened for trauma. Of those, 1600 adults have been referred for treatment and almost 1,000 children. We see people who have got problems because theyve lost friends. Some people just because of the nature of the event have been traumatised by that. They may developed post Traumatic Stress disorder but some of them will have developed other responses to the trauma. Theyve become depressed or theyve become anxious. Grenfell tower still stands, a constant daily reminder. The Public Inquiry into what happened here and why has started but the impact on peoples lives is not being helped by the strong sense of delay. The mementos on railings around Grenfell Tower are now weatherbeaten but two years on, the demands remain the same, that regulations change, that cladding on other buildings is removed, and that there is justice. Graham satchell, bbc news. 0ur correspondent, dan johnson, is at St Helens Church in North Kensington this morning. Dan, talk us through what will be happening there today. An important day for people who have been touched by the tragedy. Through what will be happening. Those that love ones will be gathering for a Memorial Service at 11 oclock this morning to the service will focus on the 72 victims, their loved ones and the 72 victims, their loved ones and the survivors of this fire. Later this afternoon, reeves will be laid and there will be a visual and a silent walk, a walk that has happened every month in the two yea rs happened every month in the two years since the fire happened. Although there will be a mood of quiet reflection, a sombre mood, i think, there is still underlying anger about what happened. Trauma to heal and people are waiting for a nswe rs heal and people are waiting for a nswers to heal and people are waiting for answers to and even though investigations and enquiries are under way, people still do not even have interim findings. The clamour for justice is still have interim findings. The clamour forjustice is still there. People wa nt forjustice is still there. People want the reassurance that this cannot happen again. They want to know what went wrong here. And still, people know that there are building Still Standing that are u nsafe. Building Still Standing that are unsafe. Thank you very much. Hundreds of passengers have been rescued from a train in northamptonshire overnight, after a landslide caused by heavy rain blocked the tracks. Up to 20 flood warnings are in place across england and wales. In lincolnshire, raf helicopter crews worked through the night to repair a river which had burst its banks. One of the countys Top Police Officers described the situation as one of the most challenging emergencies hes ever seen. Charlotte simpson reports. Passengers finally led to safety after almost eight hours stranded on the tracks. Emergency services worked late into the night to rescue around 500 people on board this east midlands train from nottingham to london. The trouble began when the 1434 service was derailed by a landslide near corby in northamptonshire. A second train which came to rescue them then also got trapped by floodwater. They did have about 25, 30 Network Rail Staff trying to dig through the landslide to make sure the ballast on the track was safe and we could go through but in the end, they made the safety decision to say, no, were going to take you off the train. In lincolnshire, the raf has been working throughout the night after the river steeping broke its banks, causing severe flooding in the village of wainfleet. The town received more than two months rain in two days, forcing over 100 people to leave their homes. Lincolnshire police described it as one of the most challenging emergencies the county has faced in recent times. Elsewhere, downpours continue to cause disruption in north wales, where the river alyn. Burst its banks on wednesday, while parts of shropshire have seen 16 inches of rainfall. Despite the heavy rain, the met office says this month still has some way to go before it overtakes the uks wettestjune when 149 millimetres of rain fell in 2012. The Environment Agency has issued up to 20 flood warnings across england and wales, with more wet Weather Forecast for today. Charlotte simpson, bbc news. Its understood that the Health Secretary matt hancock is considering withdrawing from the race to become the next conservative leader. Yesterdays first round of voting left borisjohnson as the clear favourite with six others making it through to the next round. Lets speak to our political correspondent, chris mason, whos in our westminster studio. I know you are avidly following this is the result came through yesterday. Question now is who will drop out, who will team up to try and beat Boris Johnson . drop out, who will team up to try and beat Boris Johnson . I was in the room yesterday as the results were announced and there was a sharp inta ke announced and there was a sharp intake of breath at the scale of Boris Johnsons victory. Intake of breath at the scale of borisjohnsons victory. 71 votes ahead of his nearest rival, jeremy hunt. 24 votes between mr hunt finishing second and rory stewart finishing second and rory stewart finishing in seventh. It is now a cattle among the also rans to try and get the second birth on the ballot paper that goes out to conservative members in around a weeks time to decide our Prime Minister by the end of next month. Matt hancock is mulling over whether he should pack it in. He got 20 votes yesterday, is it worth him slogging on into next week when he needs at least another dozen to make it through to the round after that. There is a deadline at lunchtime today, one oclock today, for candidates to say whether or not they want to go ahead into the vote on tuesday and to go through the hustings on channel 4, or whether or not they want to politely reverse out. Well, lets cross the house and talk about former labour mac mp, former change uk member chuka umunna who is now with the liberal democrats. Yeah, thats right. Its curious. People of westminster do not change sides very 0ppen. People are tribal and stick with their parties. Unless they are desperately uncomfortable. Chuka umunna is making a habit of changing parties. He is now signing up changing parties. He is now signing up with the liberal democrats. Vince cable welcomed him in at a News Conference a little later today. He becomes a liberal democrats12th mp. Mrcable, who becomes a liberal democrats12th mp. Mr cable, who has not had an easy time the leader will be bowing out on a high because they did very well in the European Parliament elections and now he has another mp and he hopes to tempt a few more who have left labour and the conservatives in recent months, given all of the arguments over brexit. We will see you later in the programme. Enjoy the day. The uk has agreed with americas assessment that iran was behind attacks on two oil tankers in the gulf of oman yesterday. Foreign secretary, jeremy hunt, said that if iran was involved, it poses a real danger to peace and stability in the region. The us is sending a warship to the scene of the explosions, which caused oil prices to rise. Iran says it categorically rejects the claims. The comedianjo brand has reportedly apologised for a joke about throwing acid. She said on a bbc radio 4 show, that people who throw milkshakes at what she described as unpleasant characters were pathetic as they could use battery acid instead. The Brexit Party Leader nigel farage who was hit by a milkshake last month accused her of inciting violence. The man accused of carrying out the terror attacks in christchurch in new zealand has pleaded not guilty to all 92 charges against him. Brenton Harrison Tarrant appeared by video link at the high court in the city. He denied 51 charges of murder, 40 charges of attempted murder and one charge of terrorism. Shops offering tatties and piercing pose a infection risk and regulations should be tightened. 0ne in five adults in the uk now have and more should be done to protect them. More from dominic hughes. For most people, getting a tattoo or piercing is a straightforward procedure. But there are health risks whenever the barrier that is formed by our skin is broken, and Health Experts say not enough is being done to prevent infection. The whole desire for body modification is something that has grown in the last couple of decades, as people become more interested in their body image. And thats great, but the legislation just hasnt caught up, and we would like to see a level playing field, basically. I think it would be useful for anyone in the uk to know thatm wherever theyre going, they can be assured that the person who is giving them a special procedure such as a tattoo is suitably qualified in infection control, and so that it really does minimise the risk of side effects. The number of shops offering tattoos and piercings has rocketed in recent years, up by more than 170 injust a decade. One in five of us now has a tattoo. But, in a survey of more than 800 people who were tattooed, pierced, or underwent acupuncture or electrolysis in the last couple of years, 18 experienced negative side effects. Wales is the only part of the uk where a compulsory licensing scheme for tattoo parlours and others offering Similar Services is being introduced. Todays report says that not enough is being done in the rest of the country to protect the public from potentially serious infection. Lets return to one of our top stories. Commemorations will be held across the uk today, to mark the second anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire. Survivors and the families of the 72 people that lost their lives will gather with the rest of the community, and tributes will be laid at the foot of the tower block. We can speak now to campaigner moyra samuels, whojoins us from North Kensington. Good morning to you and thank you for your time this morning. First of all, i know the church where you are at is where some ceremonies will ta ke at is where some ceremonies will take place today. Can you give us a sense of the importance of todays events for those caught up in what happened. I think this is the time that we remember that horrific night but we also pay tribute and honour the people s lives, those who died, those who lost potential, lost dreams. And we remember the community and especially the survivors who got through that horrible evening. So as a community we come together to one of those we lost. You live quite close to the tower itself. What are your recollections of the night . M tower itself. What are your recollections of the night . It was a hot night. We were probably alerted to the fire at number 16 but none of us to the fire at number 16 but none of us expected the fire to spread so rapidly. And none of us expected the horror of that cladding fire. I think it is traumatised so many of us. Think it is traumatised so many of us. I do remember. I do remember the enormous unity and passion of the enormous unity and passion of the local community in trying to help, in trying to do something. And the way that people really stepped up the way that people really stepped up to support those who came out of the fire. 0ne one of the things that has emerged in the two years since then is a huge amount of frustration from those people who have been involved about the sequence of events leading up about the sequence of events leading up to it and about the reaction afterwards. Yes. There were endless warnings from the residence, from the grenfell action group. They were ignored. They were told that, you know, their character was impugned. And, subsequently, the fire happened. And, really, the community, especially those who survived the fire felt abandoned, they were abandoned in the days following the fire. They didntjust feel that. So there is an enormous amount of. A lack of trust in both the local authority and the National Authority following the fire. Moyra, one of the things we are hearing this morning is about the huge numbers, many thousands of people who have sought out some kind of psychiatric help in the aftermath, not just those who psychiatric help in the aftermath, notjust those who lived in the tower itself, but maybe people like yourself who lived in the area, who witnessed some of what happened. It has had a ripple effect, hasnt it, on people who lived in the area . Absolutely. But fire that night will bea absolutely. But fire that night will be a scar that will only heal in a generation. It was horrific to actually watch that fire. The feelings of helplessness that so many of us felt watching residents trying to get out of the building, the fire spread at that horrendous speed. And i think we level with the trauma of that night and, especially, the children who watched it from, you know, you could see the fire for long distances in the community. So, yes, people who were vulnerable before the fire, people have been traumatised by what has happened. And people are trying to heal from that fire. Moyra, thank you very much for your time this morning. That is moyra samuels, a Justice Moore grenfell activist stop the church, St Helens Church, events will be happening. At 11am there is a service to be happening there. They will be laying a wreath at the foot of the tower later on today at a quarter past six at Grenfell Tower itself. There is something later in the day. It is 18 minutes past seven. Time to talk to matter and find out what is happening with the weather. There has been quite a lot of rain and it has caused problems. It certainly has. Good morning to you. Some parts of the uk have seen three months of rainfall this week alone. Yesterday a part of northumberland we had our wettest june day on record. And again this morning, one of the weather watch shots proves it is not a great commute. Still some rain around, particularly in england and wales. I offer more optimism today. The weather front and the west will mean a split day for many of you on saturday. Rule of thumb, is part of the uk, you start dry with sunshine, best pa rt you start dry with sunshine, best part of the day, afternoon cloudy, some showers around, not desperately wet. When i talk on the bus eye worry that the first thing is that people are thinking is doi thing is that people are thinking is do i know you and when they dont they wonder if you are a widow. Think it takes a little bit to get the point where people decide you are being friendly. That is the world they want to live and where we are ok talking to each other on the bus. You have been using an app. With that app you have been persuading people through a Scavenger Hunt to talk to various different types of people and looking at the data as it comes back. The fact that you can go and have a chat with someone that you can go and have a chat with someone and it is going to go well reminds us that people are not so different and we are all connected and the world is friendlier than the media sometimes likes to showers us. It is all out our fault as always. What do you do to try to get people chatting to each other . Today we are having conversation coaches who will be on our famous 11 service. We have been having a great time on the bus this morning. People chatting as they have been going to college, to work, et cetera. Here seemed to be a friendly bunch. If you take the same bus every day you will see the same people. And you do forge relationships. Exactly. And it is important that we do have that vital role in breaking down those silos. We have a Fragmented Society and the buses help support that and bring everyone together and get people to work and to school. And our transport minister. Chris grayling. Quite rightly said the buses play a vital role in breaking down silos on an individual level and supporting the society. Good stuff. Thank you very much indeed. It isa stuff. Thank you very much indeed. It is a bit quiet on the bus this morning. It has been pretty busy so far. Do you normally chat to people in the morning . Normally do. I would be proud to have a net original on my wall. It helps her to reach a grand old age. I think they live until 70. helps her to reach a grand old age. I think they live until70. I think some of them do. Not in the wild but some of them do. Not in the wild but some of them do. Not in the wild but some of them do. Now, two big matches today in the womens world cup . Scotla nd scotland need a win after they lost england in their opening match. They need this winter keep their hopes alive of going through. We will go live to france in a moment. So lots at stake then, as england and scotland return to action today at the womens world cup in france. Shelley kerrs side are looking to bounce back after that 2 1 opening defeat, as they take on japan this afternoon. Chris mclaughlin has been spending time with scottish camp and joins us from renne now. So scotland are up against last year s world cup finalist. If you look at the opening matches, scotland should have real belief today. think that is probably fair. Also worth pointing out that scotland dont necessarily have to win this game. One point would be good enough if they can pick up three points against argentina in paris next week. You are right, japan, before the competition started, were seen as the favourites. They won in 2011 and the finalists in 2015. But it is fairto and the finalists in 2015. But it is fair to say that 0 0 draw against argentina s shocked everyone. I spoke to shelley about that yesterday and she said that that might work against them because many people thought the fact that argentina and japan have taken points from each other could possibly open the door for scotland. That is not the way that shelley kerr sees it. She said that Everybody Needs to calm down. Japan are perhaps not the team they were according to everyone else, they are according to everyone else, they are a team in transition and there is a feeling that the japanese are building a team properly for the 0lympics next year in tokyo. That sheuey 0lympics next year in tokyo. That shelley kerr is saying that they are very dangerous and do not expect anything less. She did point towards anything less. She did point towards a fabulous offensive display from argentina. Ideally, scotland would wa nt to ta ke argentina. Ideally, scotland would want to take the points from this game and then they would be left with just one point against argentina. And, also, ithink before the campaign started, shelley kerr and her players were looking at progression through the back door, through the third place. Remember four groups have a third place. Four from six have a third place. The way other results are going, it looks like scotland will need four points to qualify. Before the competition started it seemed as if three would be good enough but now it looks they will need for so they will have to ta ke will need for so they will have to take something from japan. Scotland, at the moment are on a high. It is the first world cup campaign. They will go into this game this evening with some confidence. Great stuff and it does look beautiful behind you there. Going through all the permutations and i think scotland can win today. They only need one point, technically, buti can win today. They only need one point, technically, but i think they prefer a victory. They are in a buoyant mood. Such a beautiful view behind him. Cobbled streets and a cafe behind him. The game between scotland and japan kicks off at 2 oclock and is live on bbc one. Englands game with argentina is at 8 and also live on bbc one. Manager phil neville is looking forward to one of footballs great rivalries, being renewed. What you have with this game is the football history and rivalry. And i think that is what we have got to handle and when the draw was made the scotland argentina games were games where you thought we had to handle the occasion as well as the game, handle the emotion and the rivalry of both scotland and argentina and this is another game where we will have to handle that emotion. Maurizio sarri is set to leave chelsea afterjust a year. An agreement with juventus was reached late last night. A compensation fee in excess of five Million Pounds has been agreed between the two clubs, with a deal potentially being completed today, with derbys frank lampard, now favourite to take over at chelsea. Englandsjustin rose leads the us open by one shot after the opening round. Rose, who won the tournament back in 2013, finished with three successive birdies to top the leaderboard at pebble beach. The california coastline throws up some unexpected challenges for all the players, and as youre about to see also the local wildlife. This deer not only held up play, for a while with his charge up the fairway, but probably also did some damage to the greens. What a lot of pace there. There we are. To be fair, i am more concerned about how scared that animal is. There would have been so many crowds and it would have felt quite penned in. But when you are parting on greens they do need to be smooth. England are back in action at the cricket world cup this morning, taking on the west indies in southampton. Joffra archer is expected to be involved. He was brought up in the caribbean but his captain, eoin morgan, who was born and raised in ireland says he is glad archer, is with england. Its great that hes in an england shirt at the moment. He wont know how it all feels until he plays the game. I think being in that position myself, it does feel different the first time you play against a side either that you could have potentially played for or played for, but im sure hell handle it like he has handled Everything Else he has throughout the tournament so far. Englands women meanwhile completed a 3 0 series win, over west indies, with victory in a rain affected final match, of their one day series. The highlight was this sensational catch by fran wilson. Well worth a second look. England eventually winning by 135 runs to virtually guarantee a place in the 2021 world cup. Another much affected by the weather, new zealand and india was called off completely. Another no result yesterday in the mens world cup, the fourth. A world record. I looked at the forecast for southampton today and it is better. Sunny spells. Cloud and the odd shower but we should get a game. Holly yesterday was saying that she was worried about how many games would get in. A Weather Forecaster, however, says there will be more sun. Thank you. We will see you later on. Advertisements that show men failing at simple household tasks and women left to clean up will be banned in the uk from today. The Advertising Standards Authority is cracking down on ads that feature harmful gender stereotypes because they say it could limit peoples potential. Heres lizo mzimba with more. Of 0fan of an pride. So easy a man can do it. It is phrases like this and stereotypes like this. Else doing ballet why boys do mouth. And offensive preconceptions that women cannot handle diy tasks, that could find themselves in trouble. Women dont expect any help on a thursday. Prince and online are covered as well so ads like this all this will be under the spotlight. They want to prevent stereotypes that pressurise women and men into our ding in a particular way. Thank you. You are welcome. Into acting in a particular way. How can such a pretty wife make such bad coffee . Things have changed since the early days of advertising. things have changed since the early days of advertising. I hardly ever buy this. I hardly ever buy fairy liquid. But this is the first time the proper guidelines have come into force to tackle the harm potentially caused by gender stereotypes. Lets discuss this with blogger and father of two, jim coulson, and the broadcaster and columnist, angela epstein. Good morning to you both. Lets find out where you stand on this. good morning to you both. Lets find out where you stand on this. I think a ban is going to be difficult to police but i can see why they are doing it. From my point of view, watching stereotypes about dads on adverts still, in 2019, it is still that they are useless, klutzy, he falls over and cannot help his children with homework. He cannot change a nappy, goodness it still perpetuates these myths about dads andi perpetuates these myths about dads and i have no idea why because modern fatherhood is so different. Angela, where do you stand . I think this is an absolutely ridiculous thing. We have become over sensitive asa thing. We have become over sensitive as a society so once again it is once spoiling for an argument. Companies are burnishing pc credentials. We have made so many inroads into all aspects of professional life as women. And men are very helpful in the home, there isa are very helpful in the home, there is a lot of equality. But the problem with this situation is that there is a lot of big things that we all need to fight over. Pulling in the workplace, equal pay, central object furcation of women. These are important gender issues that we need to discuss equally as a society. But when you toss in the fat that if a woman is doing the dishes and a if you are watching at home, husband, please empty the dishwasher. It is not in the same kind of conversation, not in the same sphere. When we lump it all together and become over sensitised i think we devalue the very important arguments we need to have. Whats next . Ban jane austen arguments we need to have. Whats next . Banjane austen because the women injane next . Banjane austen because the women in jane austen next . Banjane austen because the women injane austen nobles are redeemed ultimately by a to a wealthy man . I think that is a dangerous precedent because of that. The small things, however, build up in the small things are what inform the subconscious. And that is that in the back of our kids mind, if they still see the stereotypes about fathers then, yeah, fathers are useless and they grow up and think i ama useless and they grow up and think i am a dad and i dont have to do anything because i can sit around making jokes. That it is an advert with respect, it is an advert. If my kids or children in general have to get their gender education from an advert about washing up liquid, what on earth is happening in the home or in the school. Why do adverts need to show the wrong stereotypes . Whats wrong with saying, look, dads contribute, women contribute, women can do diy. They can do all sorts of things. But why do they need to be mis portrayed . Things. But why do they need to be mis portrayed . The broader point is this idea of a ban where we are exerting the stifling group and trying to promote this ideology that men and women behave differently. We know biology does not make a sequel thatjust makes know biology does not make a sequel that just makes us know biology does not make a sequel thatjust makes us different. And i spend more time in the kitchen with my daughter because i tend to be the one who prefers to cook dinner or i am home earlier because i chose to be with kids and work fewer hours than my husband. That may be reflected in adverts. There are aspects of real life that are still reflected. I take aspects of real life that are still reflected. Itake massive issue aspects of real life that are still reflected. I take massive issue with the idea that is is becoming mandatory to not allow anyone to show the fact that they may be a bloke with his feet up. This idea that somehow women are not doing well all men do not help in the home, for us to worry about the way we sell chocolate bars is an important way to inform people is ludicrous. Can they ask you, when is a bit of fun come into this . Can i ask. What are your railing against that you cant have a bit of a laugh, these things to happen, there are men like that, women, for that matter, in the mix of putting restrictions on things everything becomes incredibly, you know, you cant have any fun about anything. That is not true, though, is it . You have to be more imaginative. At the moment, the adverts rely on stereotypes. We know why they do it, its easy. They have 30 seconds to pitch whatever they are pitching and they say lets have a dad and eve ryo ne they say lets have a dad and everyone thinks dad, fairly useless, he isa everyone thinks dad, fairly useless, he is a useless dad, then you have the image straightaway. Go on then, on the top of your head, here is the pitch, you are in charge of the new nappy ad that is going to be on tv starting tomorrow. Picture the scene on tv starting tomorrow. Picture the scene for us. Ok, and if there are nappy companies listening, i dont wa nt nappy companies listening, i dont want somebody for this. You have a nappy changing race. It doesnt matter if it is a dad or a mum. You have got to decide who is in the picture. There are two days and they are going to have a nappy changing race and there are babies lined up, the one who gets to the end wins. It shows how easy the nappies are to put on and they stay on. Brilliant. No one has had any stereotypes. We have had a fun little 30 seconds with a raise. Ifi have had a fun little 30 seconds with a raise. If i was deciding eye would say you have absolutely stereotypes that idea because you have made nappy changing into a race, a competition. And that is so incredibly male. A woman would take a far more nuanced approach and look at how useful the nappy is, how often you have to change it. To be fair, ive put him on the spot. We did it of the top of his head. In a way, i suppose it illustrates it is tricky. It is nuanced. There is another question about what you have done. That is done for table top thatis done. That is done for table top that is a limit. That is deftly going to get people talking. Thank you both very much. 13 minutes to eight. Afoa to create the perfect advertisement for a Weather Forecaster, this is the man who would fit in it. Good morning. Thank you very much. And i think this would feature behind me. I am afraid to say it is raining still across some parts of the country. Three months worth of rainfall so far this week for some. The wettestjune day on record for parts of northumberland yesterday. Still some rain around at the moment. Id you have a little more optimism in the forecast today. Sunshine coming through the clouds in parts of dumfries and galloway in the past half hour. There will be more of that for more of you as we go through the afternoon. The reason for so much wet weather this week has been the same area of low pressure it has been in the vicinity of the uk. It still is today. Although things improve we wont com pletely although things improve we wont completely get rid of the rainfall. At the moment, persistent rain putting across the hebrides, areas where we dont need it, part of wales, midlands, northern england, it is still raining. There are signs of drier and brighter weather. Sunshine out. A small chance of a showers in southampton for the cricket. Much of east anglia, dry and sunny at the moment. This morning, if you are about to head out, and across welcome the midlands, northern england. Turning later badger. Have a fresh start for Northern Ireland and scotland. The sun is breaking through. A southerly wind with us than rather than a northerly one. The silly by the afternoon. Sunshine, some showers throughout. The cloud across england and wales will start too thin. Skyers will brighten. We will see persistent rain across england spreading to the east coast of scotla nd spreading to the east coast of scotland later this afternoon. In doing so, more of england and wales becomes dry, just a few showers into the afternoon. The odd heavier one. It will feel a bit warmer than it has done over the past three days. Temperatures back to levels they should be for this time of year. More rain is back into the west stop some of the heaviest rain overnight, Northern Ireland, rumbles of thunder with that, into south of scotland, maybe north west england by the end of the night. Clear skies towards the east of the country. We will see a bit ofa the east of the country. We will see a bit of a 2 2 kind of day for saturday. Low pressure close by. This weather front in the west to begin with. Eastern areas, best of your sunnier, drier begin with. Eastern areas, best of yoursunnier, drierweatherwill begin with. Eastern areas, best of your sunnier, drier weather will be in the morning. Flooding over into the afternoon, a few showers, not desperately wet. In the west stop with a cloud, outbreaks of rain, that clears through. Sunshine comes out. Still the odd heavy shower or rumble of thunder in Northern Ireland. Fair bit of dry weather around during the afternoon for many of you. Temperatures like today in the mid to upper teens if not low 20s for one or two. As for sunday, a more straightforward mixture of sunshine injails. More straightforward mixture of sunshine in jails. Longer more straightforward mixture of sunshine injails. Longer both of rain across northern scotland. The showers could be heavy with a small risk of thunder to go with that. Some sunshine around. Temperatures around 16 20 degrees. 0verall, some sunshine around. Temperatures around 16 20 degrees. Overall, the persistent rain is on its way out. It isa persistent rain is on its way out. It is a slightly better prospect across those areas hit by flooding as we see more in the way of dry weather begin to dominate. But you both. Thank you. We will catch up with one of the Police Officers caught up in the flooding just after eight oclock. Caught up in the flooding just after eight oclock. It is ten minutes to eight. We are talking about unicorn tech. They are tech start ups that reach 1 billion in value. The uk has produced the most other than the us and china, which is quite impressive stop then is looking at why we are so successful with these tech start ups. He is in east london finding out more ben. Good morning. Good morning welcome to east london. We are on the side of the form 0lympic we are on the side of the form olympic village. This was the media centre. They have turned it into a tech up with all sorts of things like this. This is the only place you can legally use these scooters in the uk. They will put that back down there. Ill will show you more a little later. Good morning to you. It has been london tech week this week, looking at all sorts of things that this place does. Up and down the Country Technology is a growing industry for us. The economy growing about 5. 5 overall over the past couple of years. The tech sector growing by nearly 18 . It is creating jobs and investment. Can we really compete with the likes of Silicon Valley in the United States and all the investment that has been put into technology in china . Big questions. This place doing something straight. Let me introduce you to gavin paul, the chief executive of this project. And the managing director of this building. It looks pretty cool. Lots of technology. Lots of small firms. You are hoping to find the next unicorn, are hoping to find the next unicorn, a firm that will find its feet, the investment, the support and gone to great things. How do you do that . Absolutely. 0ur great things. How do you do that . Absolutely. Our goal is to combine big and small. The accommodation of those things is really special. Actually having the likes of moon hub, an organisation started a few years ago, together with buckleys, collating and making a difference. Were looking at some of the firms now were looking at some of the firms now ba rclays. Were looking at some of the firms now barclays. They are looking for money and advised to get off the ground. What is it about the uk, it is not just ground. What is it about the uk, it is notjust london. It is the uk that means these firms can do well . It is about heritage, personable, access to talent and going eco systems like this that can provide support services to enable that growth. It is about not only bigger and better, but better and better. It is a huge investment. All sorts of businesses you bring together under one roof. What is it about an ecosystem that you can create . You need to support these firms in the early days where they hope they go on to get that billion dollar valuation. Hope they go on to get that billiondollar valuation. Supporting the scallop companies to make sure they are connected into a wider network. They are connected into a wider network. Smaller they are connected into a wider network. Smaller companies. Also using our network which we have grown over time. Growing an ecosystem is one thing. People think thatis ecosystem is one thing. People think that is putting the Building Blocks together. What we spend a lot of time doing is understanding the businesses, looking at where we can find points of intersection with other businesses, ringing them together, and looking at how to scale them faster. As soon as you say technology, automation, robots, machine learning, people start worrying about their jobs. Machine learning, people start worrying about theirjobs. Is that fair . It is a natural response. History will show you that when there are advances in technology or enduring automation, it actually growsjobs. It is a shift in what those are likely to be. We do a lot of work to make sure people are taken on the journey as well. Think there will be more jobs in the end. We are talking about london tech week. It has become more than that. It is about uk that week. We had impressive figures about jobs it is about uk that week. We had impressive figures aboutjobs in cambridge, belfast, manchester, leeds. It is the uk on the stage globally ali baa baa. Talk about the global footprint, we are competing with Silicon Valley. We hear of facebook and apple and google, all of those firms, can we compete, and when you look at what china is investing in technology, do we stand a chance . People say look at the data. Use levels investment still coming into london and the uk. Huge levels of talent, International Tale nt huge levels of talent, International Talent coming in huge levels of investment. Put on a film of the fire burning that night and look past the fire. Look at the people in the windows. People who didnt come out. In euston, eversholt street remains closed in both directions between euston station and doric way due to burst water main repairs. Now the weather. Hello. Good morning. Now, tomorrow well start off with some sunshine then well get some cloud into the afternoon from outbreaks of light, patchy rain and drizzle, bit breezier on sunday. Sunny spells and showers, turning warmer next week. Sounds lovely. Im back with the latest from the bbc london newsroom in half an hour. Plenty more on our website at the usual address. We will see you soon. Bye. Good morning. Welcome to breakfast with Charlie Stayt and naga munchetty. 0ur headlines today grenfell two years on families come together to remember their loved ones, as we learn that almost 8,000 residents in the area have been assessed for trauma. Hundreds of passengers are rescued from a train in northamptonshire overnight after heavy rain caused a landslide and widespread flooding. In lincolnshire, raf helicopter crews worked into the early hours after a river burst its banks, forcing 100 people from their homes. The flooding is on the bank of yet another months worth of rain. It is still wet for many of you but signs of things turning drier and brighter. I will have the forecast in15 brighter. I will have the forecast in 15 minutes. We are on the buses this morning. The number 11 in birmingham, practising the art of conversation, talking to strangers. Uk is growing faster than ever in terms of tech but can it compete with Silicon Valley . I am at a london tech company to out. A big day for england and scotland, at the womens world cup. After facing each other in their opening match, both nations are back in action with qualification for the knock out stages at stake. Its friday the 14th ofjune. Our top story survivors and the families of those who lost their lives in the fire at Grenfell Tower will come together today to mark the second anniversary of the tragedy. What i saw that night was trauma, from not sleeping to not eating and i think it was all a combination. Thank god i came here and i saw someone about it and ive sort of taken it step by step. Sabre has been getting help from the Grenfell Health and wellbeing service, run by the nhs. They may have developed post Traumatic Stress disorder but some of them will have developed other responses to the trauma. Theyve become depressed or theyve become anxious. Grenfell tower still stands, a constant daily reminder. The Public Inquiry into what happened here and why has started but the impact on peoples lives is not being helped by the strong sense of delay. Joseph escaped the fire with his partner and baby son. joseph escaped the fire with his partner and baby son. I wantjustice for each and every life that was lost, each and everything that we went through, but we face, what we see. For me in this stage nobody is going to get sent to prison, i am seeing no justice. It going to get sent to prison, i am seeing nojustice. It is going to get sent to prison, i am seeing no justice. It is like we are fighting a losing battle. The mementos on railings around Grenfell Tower are now weather beaten but, two years on, the demands remain the same, that regulations change, that cladding on other buildings is removed, and that there is justice. Graham satchell, bbc news. Our correspondent, dan johnson, is at St Helens Church in North Kensington this morning. Many people will be gathering there on the second anniversary of the tragedy. Yes, there is a Memorial Service at 11am. Primarily remembering the 72 people who lost their lives in that fire but also supporting their families and the people who survived as well. Later this afternoon reads, wreaths will be laid. Today will be about ten bit of sombre quiet peaceful reflection but that does not ignore the anger that exists because although the inquiries are under way people are still desperate for a nswe rs. People are still desperate for answers. They want to know what went wrong and why so many people died and why there are still buildings which still have not been made safe. Thank you. We will be talking from a church in kensington shortly. Raf helicoper crews have been working through the night to repair burst water banks at the river steeping in lincolnshire. More than 100 people have been evacuated from their homes after the area had more than two months worth of rain in two days. Lets speak now to assistant chief constable shaun west, who joins us now from lincoln. Could you bring us up to date with the situation as it stands . Yes. We have had an inordinate amount of rain in lincolnshire, wayne fleet has received the equivalent of two and a half months of rain in two days. It became most acute yesterday when i declared a state of emergency asa when i declared a state of emergency as a precaution when we discovered the breach in a river and the bank was causing a significant egress of water. We had to evacuate up to 100 people from wayne fleet as a phased evacuation and safely relocate those to the rest centre. I authorised the left of that chinook helicopter so Royal Air Force colleagues could help us with that breach of the river by using ballast. We have put in 40 tonnes so far and we are enjoying some of the benefits of that but work will recommence with the Royal Air Force this morning. I am grateful to defra for providing the budget fight which we would not have been able to safeguard those homes. We are seeing some of the images of some of the problems people are facing. Tell us about the problems. It has been the days of painfor problems. It has been the days of pain for those communities to discover that your house has been flooded, it is really upsetting. We have been keen to make sure that we have been keen to make sure that we have fire and rescue officers deployed at the scene and they have been fantastic, some fantastic effo rts been fantastic, some fantastic efforts in terms of the rescue. And also knocking on doors of residents and encouraging them to evacuate. A real challenging evacuation in lincolnshire. Listening carefully, it is clear the problems are by no means over. Indeed. The weather is an improving picture but it is the General Community cumulative effect. Linkedin with the net in terms of the weather state and the Environment Agency to understand the impact of that but this is by no means over. We are hopeful that the weather state is going to improve and the Royal Air Force have made a fantastic effort in terms of staining the floor that we need a bit of luck as well. We are very well primed in terms of making sure well primed in terms of making sure we have resources in the right place. Thank you. Matt hancock, what is the thinking in one of the others withdrawing, are they going to get together to mount a significant challenge against Boris Johnson . There is a huge amount of thinking going on and none of them have concluded what they are going to do but the central question is, can they collectively mount something of an operation that provide some competition for Boris Johnson because he won by a country mile yesterday. 71 votes ahead of jeremy hunt who finished second. 0nly jeremy hunt who finished second. Only 24 points between Jeremy Jeremy hunt who finished second. Only 24 points betweenjeremy hunt and rory stewart. Rory stewart was in seventh. They disagree with each other otherwise they would not be running against each other but matt hancock is mulling over whether to pack it in. He got 20 votes yesterday so in all likelihood he cannot win overall and he might struggle to get through the next round on tuesday. The big question for all of them is how to face up to borisjohnson who is doing so well amongst his fellow mps and mac to suggest he will do very well. amongst his fellow mps and mac to suggest he will do very well. It is not often we see musical parties played. To chuku umuna has been doing that. He has made a habit of it. He left labour and became independent and then he joined change uk and he is now a liberal democrat mp. The 12 to sign up. They will hold a News Conference later and vince cable is hoping that more might follow that chuku umunna is now a liberal democrat. The uk has agreed with americas assessment that iran was behind attacks on two oil tankers in the gulf of oman yesterday. Foreign secretary jeremy hunt said that if iran was involved, it poses a real danger to peace and stability in the region. The us is sending a warship to the scene of the explosions, which caused oil prices to rise. Iran says it categorically rejects the claims. Matt is going to keep us up to date with the weather in a few minutes. Lets return to one of our top stories. Commemorations will be held across the uk today, to mark the second anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire. The day will begin with a Memorial Service at St Helens Church in North Kensington for the families of the 72 people that lost their lives. Nabil choucair lost six members of his family. He explains what life is like two years on. I havent come to terms with it. It feels like yesterday. I havent been feeling any better because you just seem to be getting bad news from here and there so it is not helping me to get better. You do not believe it has happened. You cannot believe. It is very hard to believe it has happened. Even though you know and you have seen death certificates and Everything Else you find it very ha rd to Everything Else you find it very hard to accept, to believe. It happened. You know what happened but you do not believe it and you do not wa nt to you do not believe it and you do not want to accept it but you have to accept it. You are on limbo situation. Were joined now by Senior Pastor steve divall from St Helens Church in North Kensington, where a Rememberance Service will be held later this morning. Good morning. We werejust hearing the emotions are very raw on the state for so many people who live in your community. That is right. That is why we are gathering today to comfort each other and support each other and seek god and to pray. Tell us other and seek god and to pray. Tell us about the events that will be held. We are going to meet. There isa held. We are going to meet. There is a wonderful lady who lost her family members in the fire who has galvanised people for gran grenfell. So that we can gather together as a community on the anniversary and be together and support one another. What has become apparent over time is about the many thousands of people who have been damaged by this. It is notjust the families of those who lost loved ones and clearly they are front and centre of everything that happens today but the wider community, those people who have found it difficult to deal with what they saw or experienced either on that later in the aftermath. Yes. That is absolutely right. I live five minutes walk away. People who love around me including myself are not those directly affected by the fire ina way those directly affected by the fire in a way that people who have lost people and people who got out of that having lost their homes, but we are all affected. We all feel that we wish there was more we could do to help. We all feel that it is a tragedy that they were our neighbours and we feel our powerlessness that we could not stop it. It happened in our neighbourhood and that is how i think most people feel and it is something that is shared between us as well as something we recognise that we were the lucky ones and others have suffered very greatly indeed. We we re suffered very greatly indeed. We were speaking yesterday to one of the young men his family were in the terror and mercifully were able to escape and there are very mixed emotions. Theres a lot of anger about what happened and subsequently the questions being asked at the moment. There is a lot of mixed emotions about what the authorities have done in the run up to it but also subsequently. Yes. That is right. That is not my area of speciality but i have heard what people have said and i want to be an advocate for the authorities to do all that they can do. We are looking in the bible today at a theme of justice, fairness, answers, trying to see we all need a home, we all need to have somewhere safe to live, somewhere where we can bring up families, and we all know and believe in that as neighbours, as a nation. And we want to do all we can to advocate for that to be the case for those who survived the fire, for those in other parts of the city and other parts of the country who have concerns about their housing. We all have that heart and it is trying to say come on, this is a priority. This is a priority which we must not forget. The events taking place today, this tragedy affected so many different people from different faiths for example which will be in place today. What we have done is the local mosque is meeting because it isa the local mosque is meeting because it is a friday so they will be meeting after as but that meeting is also happening. There was a declaration made when the joint service happened at st pauls on the six month anniversary with faith and Community Leaders standing together and seeing words to say we want to Work Together to do all we can to stand together to build a Community Together, so we will be using those words with the faith leaders and the community and political leaders who are able tojoin us community and political leaders who are able to join us today. Thank you for your time. They will be Holding Events later on this morning just after 11am at the church you saw and later in the day at the terror itself there will be the laying of wreaths. It is time to find out what is happening with the weather. That picture is measurable and has cost a lot of measure misery for people around the country. Three months worth of rainfall since the start of the weekend and this was the scene in staffordshire a short while ago. It is still raining for some. This is Northern Ireland. Sorry, that is the wrong name on there. It is a scene of sunshine and there. It is a scene of sunshine and there will be more sunshine through there will be more sunshine through the coming day. Things are improving. It will never be com pletely improving. It will never be completely dry. It is still close to our shores, the low pressure, and it will be until the weekend. Not com pletely will be until the weekend. Not completely dry. Use all the rain in staffordshire. It is linked to the band of cloud and rain. Heavy bursts. It starts to fragment as we go through the day. Some of it could get close to the east of scotland. The rain in the north west of scotla nd the rain in the north west of scotland will depart. There will be a bit more sunshine around than we have seen in the past few. In southampton for the cricket it is largely dry. Temperatures will be higher than they were. Some heavy downpours cannot be ruled out any bid across england and wales but of them. Across scotland there will be a mixture of sunshine and a few showers although that cloud is getting close to parts of aberdeenshire. Temperatures wherever you are up on what they were yesterday. Tonight, dry for a time in many areas but rain pitching in to the west later. Some of the heavy is likely to be in Northern Ireland. A bit ofa is likely to be in Northern Ireland. A bit of a fresh start across eastern areas where skies will be greatest. Low pressure close by into the weekend and this weather front in the west, which is going to split your saturday into two, eastern areas will be dry and sunniest, to the west you will start with cloud and outbreaks of rain but turning brighter with a few showers later. The afternoon looking drier and brighterfor the afternoon looking drier and brighter for many batch errors will spread to eastern areas. Nowhere near the heavy and persistent rain over the past few days. It should still feel quite pleasant. Sunday is a study of sunshine and showers. Some places will ignore them like avoid them altogether. A bit of sunshine and temperatures where they should be for the time of year. Very persistent rain it is a way through this morning. We are talking about being chatted to strangers. I imagine you the type of person who would happily engage conversation. Yes, my gran used to say to me when i was five i would speak to the queen do you know when to stop chatting . Quite often. Why are we talking about this . Research from america suggests that those who do have a significantly happier time than those who dont. We are on the number 11 bus environment birmingham putting this to the test. Have you been spreading happiness . Yes, spreading a bit of iy happiness . Yes, spreading a bit of joy on the number 11 bus. 26 miles long this route so long enough for us long this route so long enough for us to spend our time going round the route. Talking to people getting on and off the bus. You have been catching this bus all your life. On and off. It has played a massive role in my life, it got me to secondary school and to so manyjobs including my current one. I think a lot of people in birmingham will associate with the number 11 and have fond memories. And make friends and stayed friends. We have become friends this morning. You have met friends this morning. You have met friends over the years . Yes, you sit next to people most days. They become your friends. You Start Talking about things in common. The weather. That is what is talked about amongst most british people. It has been great to see you. Have a great day at work. We are talking about building bridges between different types of people, people you might not normally talk to. We have a doctor from the university of essex. We have been looking at your app. You have been striking up conversations with people randomly and trying to find out how that makes you and then feel. What is going on psychologically . We get stuck in our heads and we have a negative voice that says what if they think i am strange . People enjoy it more than they think, both you and the other person, so we should not worry so much about how it is going to go. Give us some tips. The weather is something we can all talk about. You are canadian, you get funky weather. Give us an example of conversation starters. Weather, traffic, commenting on the situation you have in common with the other person. Tap into your curiosity, ask someone why they are wearing their earrings or give them a compliment. You could say in enjoying your colourful socks. That is why i have the zone. When you get a compliment from a stranger you believe it more because there is nothing in it for them to Say Something nice to go. Of course you said that about my socks. Today we have conversation coaches that will be on board our famous 11, this route serves a multitude of Fragmented Society and it builds everyone together. It is right that having that conversation on the bus about the weather or the traffic or someones dodgy socks is a great way of building the Community Together and why not on public transport . Doing a bit for the environment and for social interaction. Thank you. Compliments, maybe even insults, whatever it takes to get the conversation started. We might be on their bus all day. What a fantastic bunch of commuters. Has anyone jumped on just to say hello to you . We asked people to make an effort. Yes. Thanks, ian. Have a good day. Ian said he had spotted us as he ta kes ian said he had spotted us as he takes the bus every day but he jumped on and he wanted to have a chat. We are building bridges. I thought he had left something behind on the chair but he hasnt. Thought he had left something behind on the chair but he hasnt. No, that is the button to press. When was the last time you were on a bus . Time now to get the news, travel and weather where you are. Good morning, it is another wet start to the day for england and where is but bear with it, some dry and brighter weather is slowly going to develop into this afternoon. It is going to take a while, this area of low pressure is still with us. It is not going to be completely dry, there are still some weather fronts and still some showers in that south was to be extreme but for today it will clear away and for much of us who havent seen much in the way of blue skies recently we will get to see some sunshine. This is the afternoon. That rain clears and we are looking at a mixture of sunny spells and showers. Some of the showers could be on the heavy side as they drift their way north eastward. But for many, much dry this afternoon with some sunshine, and those temperatures higher than recent days, about 1620dc. Higher than recent days, about 16 20dc. Through tonight we will see this band of cloud and rain moving its way through Northern Ireland into western scotland, wales and south west of england. Further east it will mean largely dry, overnight temperatures fairly similar to the last few nights at 6 12d. It will remain largely dry. 0n last few nights at 6 12d. It will remain largely dry. On saturday, not com pletely remain largely dry. On saturday, not completely dry, we have cloud and patchy rain moving east, some sunshine coming up behind that, one or two showers. 0ne sunshine coming up behind that, one or two showers. One or two showers perhaps across eastern areas during saturday afternoon. But none of that persistent, heavy rain and those temperatures again getting into the mid to the high teens. 0n into sunday, that area of low pressure, while it is pulling away to the west of the uk, it is still bringing us this unsettled kind of theme really. There will still be further showers during sunday, but again, there will be lengthy dry spells and sunshine in between any showers. A bit more persistent rain perhaps for the far north of scotland, and maximum temperatures on sunday getting up to about 20 celsius in the south east of england. Thats all from me. Bye hello.
