all the premier league's top sides ease to victory. celtic extend their unbeaten domestic run to 57 games with a 2—0 win over rangers in the first old firm derby of the season at ibrox. chantal blaak of the netherlands recovers from a crash to become road race world champion. britain's hannah barnes led for a while, but could only finish 14th. also coming up in the programme... leicester narrowly beat harlequins in a thriller. and we'll be live injersey to find out more about a new fast and furious version of the triathlon. hello and welcome to the programme. plenty to come across a wide range of sports but we'll start with the premier league and there were several eye—catching matches today. our football reporterjohn bennett is with me here to cover all the big talking points. john, let's start with the derby at the london stadium between west ham and spurs. quite a game. great game to start the day, they were cruising, 3—0 up, tottenham, then the sending off of serge aurier and the goal back from javier hernandez and suddenly they were under pressure. let us get the story of the game. the london stadium once of course the olympic stadium is a place of happy memories for many but not tottenham, they had lost their only match there and for 30 minutes were subdued. suddenly they sprang to life. ericsson finding dele alli and inevitably harry kane, 1—0. harry kane is ingrained in the minds of defenders everywhere but he still manages to be a hidden menace. when dele alli could not score four minutes later, guess who could? this free kick then left west ham powerless and they were much observers when serge aurier found ericsson who took a lot out of the equation. 3—0 was too straightforward a story. javier hernandez gave the hammers hope before serge aurier played the villain, this tackle earned him his second yellow card. playing with ten men and it soon became only a one—goal lead. but the stage was left for the leading man. amazing how one sending—off can change a game so much. yes, totten had to hold on but they have won their first away league games at the start of a season since 1991. going well away from home but the one negative or search aurier, his first premier league game, he has to get used to this. west ham almost getting back into the game but they remain in the bottom half of the table. let us get some reaction now with virtual pochettino. we played well and we fight. sometimes it is good to suffer a little bit because it means that you are alive and i think we played very well and we deserved to win the game. we do not want to fall too far behind, there is still a long way to go but we have to try to win every game. our home form has not been great this year, we have to try and pick up the points away and another away game next week. we've got to try and continue this run. there was enough time to create something but the game was hectic with so many fouls. there was time wasting, to be fair. we are very disappointed because we lost the game but we showed good pride to come back. it's not been a good start to the season for everton, and it looked like it might get even worse as they trailed at home to bournemouth, but they turned it round thanks to a man that the manager had treated like an outcast last season. but the band who rescued them was a man who had been banished from the first team last season! yes, a great story, 2—1victory from everton and two goals from oumar niasse. this man one year ago was an outcast, not even given a locker, his squad number was taken away from him and he was forced to play with the under 23s. he has been forced to bring this man back in because they have sold lukaku and they are struggling up front. he scored two goals, brilliant performance, what does ronald koeman think? this is a totally different world after winning and you always have the moment during the season and today was really a big victory and it will give everybody a boost, but just what we needed. he didn't actually say sorry, did he? perhaps that will come later. interesting to hear what they were saying in private! fantasy football managers would have been expecting goals at the etihad this afternoon, and they weren't disappointed. not the kind of place that crystal palace would want to go while looking for their first point. yes, 5—0 defeat. the only team in the top five european leagues not to have scored a goal. for 43 minutes they were stubborn and doing well, we completely changed things. raheem sterling got two goals, fabian delph and sergio aguero all on the goal sheet. superb second—half performance. roy hodgson was speaking to a few of his old england players, john stones and raheem sterling. it for him but for pep guardiola, and great day, the last few games, 5—0, 6—0 and again 5—0. we were not good enough with the ball. the ball should move and we did not move it. we have to move it better. the last ten minutes of the first half, we started again to play well and that helped us a lot to score the first goaljust before half—time. in the second half we were at the level of the last few weeks. today was a harsh lesson. it would have been better had the lesson not been so harsh but even if we had lost the game 1—0, we might have felt better about ourselves, but we did not create enough chances, certainly in the second half, to come back at them. the goals will follow when that happens. for most of the main title contenders today it was all about goals but let us speak of another rival who did not score so many goals but a very good defensive performance. manchester united are keeping pace with their city rivals at the top of the table. a tougher afternoon for them at southampton, but another three points. and again, romelu lukaku was the hero, six premier league goals already for manchester united but this was the definition of winning ugly. they got that goal on 20 minutes, second half, southampton were in charge. david de gea had a busy afternoon. i do not thinkjose mourinho will mind that, they showed great resilience to hold on. he was sent to the stands just before the end, but he does not know why. i think it was encroaching on the pitch and trying to time waste. he shook hands with every member of the backroom staff, time wasting. let us hear from jose mourinho. the way that we attack is something that i know already, it is something we have been doing since the beginning of the season. to defend against a team that is having a go at us, against the team that is trying everything to score a goal and rescue a point, that was the first time that has happened to us this season and i am happy with that spirit. we controlled the game. and we know it is difficult against manchester united to do that because they have a lot of players on the counterattack, even with long balls with fellaini and lukaku. we were really focused, we arrived in the final third and we created some chances, but we must improve in the final third. isaid i said most of the title contenders had scored a lot of goals. an impressive performance by the champions. 4—0 chelsea won at stoke. yes, alvaro morata with a hat—trick. antonio conte just a few days ago finally waved goodbye to diego costa who has gone back to atletico madrid. he has been proven right at the moment, morata was superb. the first goals he has scored with his feet, his previous goals for chelsea had been headers. but poor defending from stoke city. antonio conte was delighted with that performance from morata. in the last two games, our striker, he has scored a hat—trick and we had batshuayi and now we have morata. this is great. we are creating chances to score and have a good player to take these chances. i think the score flattered them, we had 13—odd shots on goal, they had seven and scored fourof them. we helped them along the way, we made a couple of catastrophic defensive errors and they have the quality to capitalise on those moments. liverpool were knocked out of the efl cup by leicester on tuesday and returned to the king power stadium in the premier league today seeking revenge. it proved to be a far more thrilling encounter with five goals, another that was disallowed and penalty that decided the result. yes, defensively we know they have problems and they were slightly lucky because jamie vardy missed a penalty. that was another five goal thriller. let us get the story of the game. liverpool have been difficult to watch when it comes to defending the season, so much so that managerjurgen klopp said he was sick of it at the hands of the midweek exit in the cup at the hands of leicester city. they needed to make their customary quick start and it arrived after quarter of an hour thanks to mo salah. they would have been confident of a change in fortu nes been confident of a change in fortunes when vidic coutinho made it to mac. this is by barcelona wanted to mac. this is by barcelona wanted to make him the second most expensive player in the world and by liverpool were so desperate to hang on to the brazilian. leicester city have their own game—changer. shinji okazaki proved such a handful and left liverpool furious with his methods. jordan henderson restored the 2—goal advantage with this first strike in more than one year for the rouble. 90 seconds laterjurgen klopp was again feeling sick as his side handed jamie vardy his sixth goal against liverpool and just four matches. he should have had another after simon mignolet brought him down but roles reversed and liverpool held on for their first victory in five games. liverpool conceding two. same old defensive problems, they want to win the title, they have to sort that out. yes, but so many positives, coutinho back on the goal sheet, mo salah has already scored six goals. jordan henderson getting back in the way of scoring goals. but we have not spoken about this. the candidate for being last on match of the day. no shots on target in the first half. barnet against huddersfield town. nine points from six games so bomb at huddersfield can both be pleased with their stars. swansea against watford. andre gray opened up the scoring for watford but tammy abraham got the equaliser for swa nsea. abraham got the equaliser for swansea. richarlison with the last—minute winner for watford. watford are up to sixth position. yes, super start. we have won their first three are we primarily games. this is the top of the table. this not appear to be changing too much, you would think? but what about crystal palace? tough games to come against manchester united and chelsea. that is a false position for leicester city. they have played four of the last season's top six. i think we will move on up with some easier games coming up for them. thank you for that. the late kick off in the championship saw west and east midlands meet as aston villa host nottingham forest. villa have leapfrogged forest after a 2—1win at villa park. conor hourehan scored a sublime winner, bending that second half free kick around the wall. earlier forest striker daryl murphy had cancelled out albert adomah‘s opener. the win lifts villa up to tenth. earlier on today the top all won. cardiff city heaped more pressure on struggling sunderland with a 2—1 victory at the stadium of light. boss simon grayson admitted afterwards they are not too good to go down. bottom side bolton lost again, that at home to brentford. quite a few draws there as well. audit scotland... —— on to scotland 110w. . . celtic already look ominously in control in the scottish premiership after just seven league games this season. the gulf in class between brendan rodgers side and their old firm rivals rangers was clear to see. celtic extended their their run of unbeaten domestic games to 57 with a 2—0 win at ibrox as chris mclaughlin reports. into a cauldron of noise and colour, celtic swaggered, all the confidence of a side unbeaten domestically in 56 matches. they almost scored in less than 56 seconds. in a match where tackles are known to fly, even the managers were not safe. no foul given, no penalty eitherfor this clash... no goals in the first half but minutes after the interval... it was no more than celtic deserved for their dominance. the rangers boss pedro caixinha was less than impressed with his awol defence. the home side had the odd glance at goal but having conceded only three all season, celtic stood firm. just after the hour mark, it was two, patrick roberts was the provider and leigh griffiths did what he does best. it played out as many predicted and those in green and white simply loved it. they were a different level than rangers. rangers probably got into the game in small bursts, ten minutes in the first half and ten minutes in the second half after celtic had scored but winning 1—0 or 2—0 at ibrox any day, you will take it. take it they did, the invincibles looking once again unstoppable. there were also wins for hibs and stjohnstone. kilmarnock dundee ended 1—1. partick thistle conceded late to hearts. that game finished 1—1. rugby union, and an exciting conclusion to the aviva premiership match between harlequins and leicester. four of the game's five tries were scored in the second half. eventually it was leicester who prevailed, winning by 31 points to 28. james burford reports. harlequins lost just twice harlequins lostjust twice year in the entire of last season but one of those babies was against leicester. inside the first ten minutes and the away side were inside enemy territory. after going to the tm all with an early score. as the dust settled to the defence were caught napping. danny care was awake to the opportunity and gave the tigers sleepless nights. whether that the school was turned, this man with time and space, harlequins firmly in control. but this game was far from over, johnny may rarely loses a few trees and on this occasion there was going to be only one winner. the crowd flared up and so too did the nerves of harlequins when hooker greg abatement went over. another twist, more defensive frailty and the pendulum is west —— shifted in favour of the home side. george ford had the chance to win it with this kicked, but this drama will take some beating. elsewhere newcastle won 33—32 at bath, and a worrying sight for england fans as billy vunipola left the field with a leg in saracens bonus—point win against sale. there was plenty of drama too in galway as cardiff left it very late to beat connacht17—15. the lead had changed hands four times before cardiff won it right at the end. willis halaholo with this try to clinch it for the away side. having lost all three of their opening matches, it's their first pro14 win. two other games tonight. southern kings against zebre is underway — southern kings against zebre is underway — zebre leading 22—3. rugby league — wigan warriors' unlikely hopes of reaching the super league semi finals were ended by wakefield this afternoon. wigan lost 32—0 in what will be their final game of the season. five tries for wakefield were shared amongst the players — keegan hirst grabbed the final one. elsewhere, warrington wolve beat hull kr while catalan dragons are drawing 4—1; with widnes vikings, that game is early in the 2nd half. it's a new version of the sport, and this weekend super league triathlon is on display injersey, with many of the best known names taking part. jonathan brownlee is among them, and our reporterjen smith is there with them. first jen, what's different about super league triathlon? as you mentioned, this is the first super league triathlon events to be held in the british isles and, in fact, the northern hemisphere. the super league triathlon is very different from the traditional triathlon, today was essentially about three mini triathlons. the disciplines are mixed up and there is a ten minute break between each event and the very fastest athletes, they get the most points and that gives them a distinct advantage going into tomorrow. it is a very short and fast course and some of the athletes are eliminated if they are too slow. it is very much a spectator event and the course is designed with spectators in mind. everywhere you go around here you can see crowds cheering the world's best athletes on. beautifully explained, but the key question i suppose is how are they getting on? i saw thatjonny brownlee was in third place at the moment. absolutely, jonny brownlee had a very strong race but unfortunately, a chaotic transition for him coming off of the bike in the third leg which saw him drop down to third. that is where he stayed in the overall men's standings. the men's race was won by norway's blumenfeld and the defending champion of super league, richard murray, he was third. there is a lot of strong competition from the men which featured the likes of the current world number one muller. alistair brownlee, he was also present but unfortunately, he was injured and he was on the microphone commentating. the events today also saw the first ever women's super league triathlon to be held anywhere in the world and that was a much more straightforward affair. that was won by the american competitor with the swiss competitor close behind. a few brits were within the top ten and because of that point system, it is not ruling them out for tomorrow. the big money is at stake tomorrow with the men's and women's winner each receiving £100,000. all to play for going into the final day of the super league triathlon here injersey, which is, of course, tomorrow. dutch champion chantal blaak recovered from a crash to win the world cycling road race championships in norway. britain's hanna barnes was 14th. it was a surprise result, and rochelle gilmore was there to watch it for us. well, we have had a glorious day of sunshine in bergen for the elite women's road race at the world championships. fascinating race. winner, perhaps not this dutch winner. yes, it was a surprise that it was chantal blaak in the end but we said they were so strong on paper that it would be the athlete that takes the opportunity or gets that opportunity and chantal blaak got her timing right with that attack. we thought it might come down to a bunch sprint but it was a solo ride. we have seen that a lot this week. yes, we thought we might see some sprint finishes. the race today was so exciting, with hannah barnes and dani king animating the race. i think that britain could probably say they were the second—best team in the race, they chased down every attack and attacked themselves, what did you make of their performance? one of the best i have ever seen hands down and it was great to see lizzie diamond come here and support full, not knowing herform but to present opportunities for her team—mates. dani king and hannah barnes really surprised me today. theyjust kept going and i was on the edge of my seat. in the end they did not get the result they deserve for the ride that they have. big chance again tomorrow in the men's road race, they have a long ride down to bergen and ian there will to the circuit. pierce egan is the favourite. yes, i think a lot of people would like to see him take that rainbowjersey again. a really exciting race with michael matthews representing australia and the as well. peter really wants this. he is talking it down but tomorrow he will turn himself inside out to try to get that jersey again. the norwegians will feel that they have a strong hand as well. great britain have ben swift and another rider could be predicted. yes, they could go into the race more open—minded about who will get the opportunity in the end, but they have a strong team, theyjust do not have that clear ambition to ride for one rider. it will be interesting to see what cards they play tomorrow. one thing is for sure, it will be well supported, the crowds have been fantastic here in bergen. the race coverage you can watch live from nine o'clock on the red button and we will be on bbc two one o'clock. sport climbing's preparations for its 0lympic bow at tokyo 2020 take a step
