Battle Creek businesses offered safety net through GoFundMe campaigns

Lori Leiter "had no idea" her daughter had reached out to the community for a lifeline.
Leiter owns The Dolphin Lounge with her husband Kevin. The couple was surprised when their daughter, Erika Carlson, created a GoFundMe campaign on Jan. 14 to help support the bar her family has owned since 1983.
"It was out of the kindness of her heart," Leiter said.
