Battle against superbugs: E. coli resistance in UTIs shows slight decline

Research finds that the prevalence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) of uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) from outpatient uncomplicated UTIs at KPSC has slightly decreased between 2016 and 2021, both for in-person and virtual settings, although the magnitude of the decrease was mostly small. Resistance to penicillins, fluoroquinolones, and TMP-SMX was common.
