Around 1,500 bats have dropped dead due to heat related issues in Pathalgada block of Chatra district in the past 48 hours. Forest department officials have collected the carcasses for burial in the forest area. Lack of water amid the heatwave led to the bats falling from trees near a govt school in Pathalgada Bazaar.
