Bath crash: Gay Street closed to traffic after person dies The collision happened earlier today A person has died after a crash in Bath city centre today (December 16). Paramedics and officers raced to Gay Street following the single-vehicle collision at around 4:30pm. A police cordon is in place on Gay Street and George Street as officers investigate the scene. An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We were called to a single vehicle collision on Gay Street. "We were called at 4:30pm by ambulance. Sadly, a person has died." Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "A4 Gay Street / George Street in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident between Old King Street and Fountain Buildings.
