Founded in Arizona in 1932 by brothers Ike and Eddie Basha, Sr., Bashas’ Family of Stores is one of the largest employers in the state and has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in Arizona. Bashas’ is also known for its community service and its focus on the multicultural, heavily Hispanic population it serves.
“We tend to see families and friends shopping together at our Food City stores,” Mike Solis, director of operations for Bashas’-owned Food City, told Supermarket News in 2019. “So it’s important for us to provide our customers a unique shopping experience through offering products and brands — at affordable prices — that they would likely find in their country of origin.
