A baby girl was found abandoned on the wall of a factory in Samrala. She is undergoing treatment at a government hospital. Factory worker Aruna Devi's son found her cradled in his arms while bringing a twig in the morning. The child, born prematurely, is now in the children's ward under doctors' supervision. Staff nurse Sarabjit Kaur expressed interest in adopting the baby.
