It's a picture that could melt even the coldest of hearts. German Photographer Tobias Baumgaertner was selected as the winner for Oceanographic magazine's Ocean Photograph Awards. Tobias Baumgaertner took the award-winning pic of the mourning birds in Melbourne, Australia. The two widowed penguins who appear to be comforting each other were selected as a winner. St. Kilda Pier has a colony of about 1400 Fairy penguins which are the smallest penguin species. Baumgaertner said on his Instagram account, "A volunteer approached me and told me that the white one was an elderly lady who had lost her partner and apparently so did the younger male to the left."
