Australia secures 85 million Pfizer booster shots

Pfizer has responded to reports a Queensland police officer was hospitalised in Brisbane with blood clots three days after receiving the companies coronavirus vaccine.
The federals government has secured an additional 85 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to provide Australians with booster doses in the next two years.
The government has purchased 60 million doses set to arrive in 2022 and a further 25 million for the following year.
The doses are in addition to the 40 million already due to arrive in Australia this year.
However, the future doses will do little to address a critical shortage of available Pfizer vaccines which has hamstrung Australia's national vaccine rollout, pushing it two months behind schedule.
