Auchmountain Glen has been recognised by the Scottish Walking Awards. A volunteer-led project has provided significant improvements for walkers, including new walkways at the glen off Kilmacolm Road. Councillor Michael McCormick, who chairs the environment and regeneration committee and attends the Auchmountain group’s meetings, said: “I am over the moon that the group has been recognised for all the work they have been doing over the last seven years, in all seasons, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. "Auchmountain Glen is an example of what can be achieved when the community, local authority and most importantly hard-working volunteers work together with a common goal.”
