DAPITAN CITY: The Foreign Armed Forces Attaches (FAFAs) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) commended the city government of Dapitan and the province of Zamboanga del Norte for the hosting of a thematic dinner at the beachfront of Dakak Park and Beach Resort in Dapitan City on October 7.City and provincial officials and the tourism stakeholder partners also attended the Caribbean and Hawaiian-inspired dinner hosted for the foreign dignitaries and their spouses and family who are here for rest and recreation activities. Also present was the chairman of the RomGarJal Development Corp. Romeo Jalosjos, former representative of the 3rd District of Zamboanga del Norte, now chairman of the Dakak Golf Club Cesar Jalosjos, Mayor Cecilia Jalosjos-Carreon of the municipality of Piñan, Board Member of 1st District Angelica Jalosjos Carreon, Mayor Liza Mejias and Vice Mayor Mejias of the municipality of La Libertad, Mayor Seth Frederick Jalosjos and Vice Mayor Alfredo Sy of Dapitan City, and the executive assistant to Gov. Marjorie Jalosjos.Mayor Seth Jalosjos expressed his gratitude to the FAFAs and the AFP officers for pushing the trip to Dapitan, saying that the visit will 'provide a beneficial impact to tourism and how the City of Dapitan especially in terms of the safety and security and cultural aspects of the city have impressed the visitors from different nations.'Governor Jalosjos, through Marjorie Jalosjos, also expressed the gratitude of the provincial government to the visitors and guests, saying this would 'spell positive tourism impact in terms of renewed perception of the foreign market of the province and the entire Mindanao island.'The main tourism thrust of Zamboanga del Norte is to increase its foreign arrivals and enhance its image as a safe city and province, especially to countries with negative travel advisories for the region.Col. Javier Martin Gil, the defense attache of Spain, expressed his fascination and gratitude for the hosts. He said that the experience has given them so much joy, seeing the city's beautiful culture and rich heritage. He also promised to put up a good word on the place.
