Assamese actor Aimee Baruah (left) addresses the media in Guwahati on Wednesday GUWAHATI: In response to an appeal to all by the Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation’s North East Chapter (JSF-NE) to urge Narendra Modi to introduce a strict population control Act through the “Mann Ki Baat” programme scheduled for next Sunday, popular actor from Assam, Aimee Baruah, on Wednesday, requested the Prime Minister to bring the law to make India a powerful nation. Additional superintendent of Kalapahar Covid Hospital, Dr Raktim Tamuli, also advocated this law and lauded Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation for coming up with this initiative. He also stated that the rising population has already started impacting government and private hospitals in Assam, leading to insufficiency of time among doctors to check their patients.
