Big-box retailers, like Walmart, seem to sell everything a shopper needs. From plants to photo services, places like Walmart have been allowed to sell their goods in-store, unlike most local businesses who were forced to close the doors to foot traffic for a second time in less than a year due to provincial regulations.
The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce has started a petition to ban the sale of non-essential items in big-box stores, saying it’s unfair to small businesses, and the movement is gaining support.
