Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is thinking of a five per cent discount on the monthly water charges for the buildings that are equipped with
Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) system. As of now, this is in a discussion stage and a final decision will be taken at the next board meeting. This proposal is being considered to promote and encourage RWH. A senior official said, “Despite the best efforts to promote RWH, many are yet to implement it. So, the discount may attract people to go for it. We want to promote RWH so that we don’t want to waste the rain water.”
