March 4, 2021 MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University School of Music will present its annual Concerto/Aria/Composition Competition Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 5 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall. The student winners of the 2020 competition will perform with the WIU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by WIU Symphony Orchestra Conductor Kenny Lee. Due to the restrictions currently in place, there are no general admission performances in the COFAC Recital Hall. This performance will be broadcast on the School of Music's YouTube Channel and Facebook page. The annual Concerto/Aria/Composition Concert features student soloists who are selected as winners of a competition by a panel of external judges. The student soloists represent some of the finest musicians in WIU's School of Music. The program also presents an opportunity to premiere a student composition selected by the School of Music's theory/composition faculty for its artistic and creative merits.
