The Model Banner is a group that has been in existence in County Wexford for the last two years. Their music has featured heavily on local radio and has earned the band a lot of fans throughout the county. The Model Banner name represents a combination of the counties of origin of the three members: Jim Boyce and Kathleen O'Shea, from the Model County, Wexford, and Tony Durack, from the Banner County, Clare, though now living in Wexford for many years. This week's column places the focus of attention on the band's new album, 'Legacy - oidhreacht', which is a 14-track collection of well known folk standards and original songs.
