Amherst County’s proposed fiscal year 2025 budget is slated to include 13 new public safety positions, a 3% pay raise for county employees and funding for school resource officers with hopes that a state grant will come through in May to offset some of those costs, according to the board of supervisors’ March 19 discussion.
