The Alterra 600 EPS four-wheeler features a new engine, drivetrain, and chassis for more power, and was designed to be easier to service. Power and performance specifics This 45-hp. machine is powered by a 600-cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine. This engine was designed and built by Arctic Cat in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and features an overhead-cam design. To ensure plenty of airflow, the vehicle has an oversized air filter and high intake mounts. It also features a new Artic Cat tuned CVTech CVT system and a more durable transmission. This CVT system was first launched on the company’s snowmobiles last year. The system has Trialblock drive and Invance driven clutches for more performance, smooth low-speed engagement, and long life. Operators will appreciate faster acceleration, smoother power delivery, and a throttle response that will not fade over time, the company claims. The CVT system’s large belt and improved cooling results in minimized wear and longer belt life.
