Migrants. The leader of iraqs kurdish region is asking pkk fight tours leave their bases. Separatist fighters Must Withdraw to protect civilians. Accusing turkey of bombing civilians in raids on pkk in Northern Iraq. The government say both the pkk and turkey need to resume peace talks. Were i close to the syrian border, this is going to leave a bit of a vacuum in the area if pkk do withdraw from their bases, wont it . Well, the president linking his call for the pkk to withdraw from Northern Iraq saying that it will protect civilians. Yes, the pkk, like you mentioned, is helping the peshmerga, the force in Northern Iraq. The 1,000 kilometer front line with isil. But it seems that the krg feel comfortable now that it is able to man these positions alone. We have to remember that there was a long history of conflict between these two kurdish groups, and thats why them allying with each other, joining forces was very unlikely, but the threat from isil was real. They were threatening the Iraqi Kurdistan region in the north of the country. But at the end of the day we have to remember that the krg, the Kurdistan Regional government has and enjoys good ties with the turkish government. Turkey is their economic lifeline. The pkk has been a thorn in their side. The pkk has deployed to the sinjar mountains close to the border. We saw for ourselves that tensions were brewing between these two groups. The pkk were talking about areas languaging i linking it the territory, and that was making krg unhappy. This is what is happening in iraq. Across the border in syria there have been developments in fighting among Syrian Opposition groups who are both fighting isil. We saw a syrian group, the syrian alqaeda linked al nusra take up arms against a force that are allied to the United States. Really calling in to question u. S. Plans to train and equip moderate force to take on the Islamic State in iraq and the levant. This is thought to be an airstrike carried out by the u. S. To support its allies in syria. It targeted positions of the alqaeda linked al nusra front in northern aleppo. But it came too late. The fighters had already attacked the base of a new u. S. Backed sir yawn group called division 3. It was a message to the u. S. And syrian who is cooperate with it. The 30 Infantry Division is a Group Trained by the u. S. Congress and train necessary turkey. They entered syria a few days ago. Its a National Army that america is trying to create in syria in order to fight terrorism. As you know america classified the terrorist group. The infantrys main goal is to fight news are a. Little information has been made public about division 30 until its men entered syria a few days ago. This new group received training from the u. S. In turkey as part of a program to whether a force to fight isil. It appears that they didnt want to be filmed because working with the u. S. Can easily create them enemies among the Syrian Opposition. Were ready to coordinate with anyone fighting for the syrian people. Im renouncing this through your channel right now. We will fight isil or anyone supporting them either state or regime, iran or hezbollah. But thats not what the u. S. Trained and equip group is about. Its about creating a force to fight isil not the syrian government. The program has faced many difficulties since it was announced. After months of delay it was launched in may, and the pentagon was planning to train more than 5,000 fighters in a year. But so far it trained 54 in turkey. It wasnt the first time news are a targeted opposition groups that have received support from the u. S. It has a movement in the Syrian Revolutionary front who were forced to disband. It was a direct challenge to the u. S. And the attack on division 30 is a setback. Both are enemies of isil but the u. S. Considered news are a a terrorist organization while it is not a target of the u. S. Led coalition against isil, it has hit the group which is believed to be under news are as protection. News are a feels it is a target and seems to be taking preemptive measures to protect itself. At the same time it has complicated the coalitions plans to fight isil in syria. Al jazeera, southern turkey. Al jazeera has learned jordanian government has sent weapons and other military qui equipment to groups living along the borders. This is a town northwestern jordan where most of the countrys 25,000 citizens live. It is south of the syrian city that is predominately drus. Its a sect of islam which are spread along israel, jordan, lebanon. Because of their shared faith the cities have had strong links with each other for generations. Which is why so many here are worried about the intensifying violence just over the border. The mayor tells us following the killings of 20 drus residents appear to jordans leaders to help sway them. We called to support our people. We promised that he would give us support and so now we hope that the drus in this area will be safe. Jordan has announced it will support syrian communities along its borders including the drus while the jordanian government has not said specifically what that support will be, al jazeera has learned that it includes deliveries of military equipment and weapons. [ gunfire ] the threat to the communities near jordans border with syria is growing. This video is thought to show rebel groups targeting sites just outside of the city in june. Syrias drus are facing increasing attacks partially because of their religious beliefs, but also for being loyal to president bashar alassad. Thim told that jordan has long resisted involvement in syrias internal conflict but after its military began to carry out airstrikes against isil late last year protecting the border has become a top priority. If isil were to capture the areas near our border it would be a major security issue for jordan, so the government decided to provide arms to the cities so they can defend themselves and act as our first line of defense. A decision which marks a major shift in policy as jordan finds itself increasingly drawn into the syrian conflict. Al jazeera, northwestern jordan. Talks in what would have been the biggest trade deal in history have now broken down. Disappointment from the 1 countries involved in the Transpacific Partnership, but not everyone is upset as Andrew Thomas reports from maui in hawaii. This was supposed to be the moment to announce the biggest trade deal in history. The summit in hawaii lasted four days but over all Transpacific Partnership negotiations have been going on for more than five years. The ministers claims of meaningfumeaning progress rang holy. This was to be a make or break summit for these talks. But youre not allowe aable to announce a deal in principle. At the end of the day there are a a limited number of difficult issues that require to be resolved. I feel gratified by the progress that has been made. Each country has its own priorities. For australia and new zealand it was access to markets for agriculture. Vietnam, clothing. Japan and mexico, industries. Im sure youre aware that the industry in mexico is the seventh largest in the world and fourth largest exporter. So obviously mexico has a deep interest i. So probably you can accuse me putting myself to the front to really push the interest of my country. With a deal as complex as the tpp deadlock in one area prevented progress in others. Productions for specific industries exporting from specific countries were in play along general discussions in common regulations not just trade but production. And thats where critics were concerned. The ministers would concede on other regulation it is they got their way on productions. The copyright periods for medicines banning generic drugs competing for brand names for longer concerned those that the worlds poorest would not be able to pay higher costs. With no deal campaigners are celebrating. For us this is a victory. What weve seen are several countries, australia comes to mind. Standing up and saying were not going to trade away health this week no matter how hard you lean on us. That makes a big drinks. The staff of the u. S. President ial campaign effectively january is unofficial deadline. Any principle deal needs to be readified by national government. Without president iawithout president obama pushing it, a deal may not appear. There is no date set yet for further talks. But the ministers say that they will go on. Andrew thomas, al jazeera, maui. Well, Harry Fawcett reports on japans interest in the negotiations. Japans Prime Minister shinzo abe is keen to get this deal done on a visit earlier this year he said that the tpp represented an awesome opportunity in terms of progress in japans neighborhood but hes not in the position to bet the entire farm on it because the farming industry in japan is extremely protected very powerful theyre worried about the impact of 12 countries suddenly having these liberalized trading relationships, and what that might have on their livelihoods. The hint coming from the minister in hawaii is that theyre worried about new zealands demands that its Dairy Products be give freer rein to be imported in places like japan. Well, so far arabs largest economy china has not been part of the talks. Rob mcbride talks about about why china will be happy that the talks have been stalled. For china this deal has been about far more than just trade. Its a pact fashioned by the United States with their allies on this side of the pacific seemingly to stifle the ambition of the worlds second largest economy in what it considers to be its own backyard. As america struggles with its grand plans, china struggles with its agreements, agreements that have been signed and put in affect with south korea and australia. As tpp is further delayed it seems that its relevance is brought into question. Coming up in this news hour, sweltering heatwave with no power or running water. These iraqis say theyve had enough. Very few are very prosecuted, the Human Rights Group said that 7 of cases end with an indictment. Journalists ben hartman is course upon debt for the jerusalem post. Its only achieved when you have enough people arrested and stiff enough penalties. I think the burden is on the court. In terms of the political establishment in israel you have walltowail condemnation of these actions especially the one yesterday, which every single israeli politician condemned, although obviously it is not enough. You need concrete steps on the ground and from a policing standpoint, from an intelligence standpoint. The problem is when you have people, extremist who is are not going to cooperate with authorities, who are not going to testify with their miners. I think where there is a will there is a way. And there is more resources than presently that would be the case. I would say that they take it serious, and were talking about the wave of jewish attacks on palestinians in the last few years and youre at the same time there has been a very large wave of palestinian attacks against israelis and theyre responsible. They have to stop those attacks also. Theyve got their hands full. Yemens Vice President has arrived in aden. This is the French Ministry of defense establishment where the investigation is taking place now some of the buildings behind me similar investigations have taken place in recent years were in basically the hub of the European Aviation industry here. The focus of the investigation is really going to start to look at what is reported as a serial number on this piece of debris. The malaysian authorities are saying this is conclusive proof that it does come from a boeing 777. If thats the case then logically one has to think that it does come from mh 370 because there simply hasnt been any disasters of that plane over oceans since the plane that came in to circulation. We hear that theyre going to be looking at how long the debris has been in the water. Oceanographers are saying that its not unlikely that this may have floated around 4,000 kilometers from the area where it is believed the plane went down to the coast of the island of reunion. Whatever happens here there is a lot of hope that this piece of debris could begin seriously to answer questions for the hundreds if not thousands of friends and families of the victims of mh 370 as to exactly what happened on that night march 8th last year. Well, activists begin their journey for justice in the United States. Actually before we get to that story, lets take you back to our top story, the leader of iraqs kurdish region asking the kurdish pkk fighters to leave the area. We go to a turkey analyst who joins me now live from london. Good to have you with us. What is at play here . Is the Kurdistan Regional government worried about civilians being targeted or are they worried about the pkk might becoming too powerful in the area . Traditionalcally the pkk is a competitor to the regional government. They have different backgrounds. The pkk has an antifeudal marxist leaning, so both have been competing with each other for actually quite a number of decades. Where might the pkk go if theyre told to leave their bases in Northern Iraq . I doubt if the pkk will leave their bases in Northern Iraq. Theyre situated in some of the very inhospitallal mountainous environment. It will be difficult for any group, army or militia to remove them from their bases. They have been situated there since the mid 1990s. If theyre unlikely to move, might we see conflict between the pkk and some of the krg forces . I think the krg is trying to placate some of the hard line feelings in turkey towards the pkk. But i think that at the end of the day both the krg and the pkk share a common enemy that is combating the Islamic State. I doubt at this stage theyll try to enter into conflict against each other. Ultimately what you have is turkey trying to. The u. S. And turkey agreement combating the Islamic State is riddled can disagreement with conflicting objectives. One of the few credible allies it has on the ground they want to contain and limit aspiration to try to establish autonomous zone. I think this will provide other opportunities to exploit those divisions and taken the staying power in syria. Thanks for your analysis on that. The u. S. Secretary john kerry is on the way to talk with cairo leaders. Two years ago the u. S. Cut off military aid in protest to the overthrow of democratically elected president Mohamed Morsi. This is the symbol of power and prestige the egyptians have been seeking. New f16s like these have just been delivered by the u. S. Two years ago the Obama Administration suspended defense aid after the Egyptian Military led by then general elsisi kicked Mohamed Morsi out of office. It was surprising because of the u. S. long and close ties with egypt, but it felt it was a violation of political freedom. Every year since 1987 washington has given cairo 1. 3 billion in military aid. That money pays for American Made fighter jets, helicopter, tanks, ammunition and training. Every other year they would hold a Training Exercise called bright star, but that has not happened since the arab stringy erupted in 2011. When sisi now president attended the United Nations assembly, he met with u. S. President barack obama and said they had reason to work together. Everything from the palestinian situation in gaza, libya, to the issues of isil, iraq, and syria. Even so, it wasnt until the end of march that the white house decided to resume most of the aid for what it calls National Security reasons. Including egypts efforts to deal with isil fighters who have been attacking its troops in the sinai peninsula. The u. S. Aid now comes with conditions. Washington decides what cairo can have. Analysts say this is how the u. S. Will pressure eye coon political and human rights. If they do not take these steps, then it will have a fundamental mexico on fixing problems. Theyre meetings during sundays Strategic Dialogue will be dominated by the regions security challenges, but this will be a public demonstration of how the Obama Administration is recalibrating its ties to a country to a country that it considers an essential ally. Lobby groups in the u. S. Is spending millions ever dollars debating the recent nuclear deal with iran. Congress has 60 days to review the agreement before sanctions on iran can be lifted. Patty culhane returns from washington. U. S. Secretary of energy has often considered the Obama Administrations secret weapon one of the four more Nuclear Scientists in the u. S. And helped to negotiate the iran deal. The negotiation put him in front of the media on friday but only al jazeera was given an extended interview. Hes painting a dire picture if congress does not vote to support sanctions. Is there any weapon that they have a weaponnization program . Well, as you know in the past the iaea has put out reports that identified activities that were undeclared that they reported up to 2003 that there was a structured program in iran and looking at various technologies of relevance to a potential weapon. So obviously thats why we have all these angels. Thats why we have a tremendous amount of distrust. Thpresident obama joined a Conference Call with the same grassroots supporters that got them elected. You guys have to counter act that. In congress the Lower Chamber has gone home. The senate will leave next week for extended recess where they and constituents will see a lot of this. The groups linked to the current Israeli Government has been spending millions of dollars on ad alone. Congress should reject a bad deal. Apec is threatening these democrats with the cut off of jewish money, cut off of proisrael money from other sources, possibly a primary opponent. Theyre going to make a lot of trouble. And supporters of apec have a lot of money and a lot of influence. There are some groups running as in support of the deal, but theyre significantly outspent. The president does have some star power showing up on the internet. We could be forced into a war with iran. There is a twoprong plan. The iaea will try to sell the deal with members of the senate. The plan is t to put pressure on the public to put pressure on the president. To the state of alabama with the aim of highlighting civil rights we have reports from selma. In the history of civil rights few places are as iconic as its Edmund Pettus bridge. It was here that foot soldiers marched for Voting Rights and were met with clubs and tear gas. That name became known as bloody sunday. But it led to the Voting Rights acts of 1965 allowing africanamerican toss cast their ballots for the first time in u. S. History. Your vote matters. As we visit selma and understand how the people fought hard. Today selma remains as a living testament to those monumental achievements, but many feel the battle is far from over. Its painful to release that racism is still alive and so many people spend time still trying to keep people of color from voting and strategies that theyre doing to make that happen its disheartening. A student when he marched with dr. King in 1965. He said this latest march to washington, d. C. Will raise awareness of a wide range of issues. Not only in Voting Rights, but in equal jobs, in equal education, and in all across the field. And so thats why this march is so necessary. 50 years afterwards. What theyre trying to do is bring civil rights issues back into sharp focus to make sure that the satisfies and achievements made here were not for nothing. These protesters helped to bring about what is widely considered an important piece of legislation in u. S. History. Now legislation seen as targeting minorities and their votes is emerging as a new battleground. We have this modern day slavery that wantsthat wants to treat us in many ways the same way. Thats not what i thought would be happening. In 2014, 15, 16, or 17. The Civil Rights Era is one of the most important chapters in u. S. History, but for the next generation there will still be battles to win. Well, there has been rioting and looting in venezuela as People Struggle with shortages of basic food and supplies. We have reports. Dozens of people looted this supermarket wear louis and Others Stores on friday. A 21yearold was shot in the chest and died. Demonstrators say that he was killed by the police. But the government says it was an armed protester who pulled the trigger. The situation is now totally under control but its clear that this looting was politically motivated. One of the looters viciously shot one of the workers in the store. He died. We arrested 27 people and were investigating further. Venezuela is a major oil producer, but it is suffering shortages in triple digit inflation due to a currency crisis which critics say is the result of failed socialistic policies. The way these arms are moving, cooking dinner behind me really do seem to respect the way a normal chef would cook dinner. This is a protokeep installations. It will go o on the market at 75,000, but that price could come down substantially if the idea catchessen. As futuristic as it seems the company imagines one day all kitchens will come fitted with robotic arms and the instructions of how to make each dish will be bought online much like books are sold today. When you have that limited library which is selec is intellectual property, in this case you can enjoy this dish if you have the same ingredients that they use. Much of the robot chefs skills come from its hands produced by a leading robotics company. We said lets replicate the capability in a machine. So where we need to copy the human hand down to the last detail we have done, and then in other areas weve taken engineering compromise without the complications of things like knuckles. Theyre looking at how the robot arms can be used at the food preparation stage beyond serving meals to those who can afford its hefty price it can also be put to other uses. This could have huge impact as you think about elderly or infirmed people in their own homes. We have a crisis of not having enough careers in this country and having a system like this who can prepare fresh and quality meals for people in their own homes would be fantastic. The creating of the crab bisque goes on without a hitch, and were told its close to the real dish. Years of development are still needed but if widely adapted it has the tension to change how millions around the world prepare their dinner. Well, the first in every ditch is in the tasting. Very nice. So thats the end of al jazeera. We have another full bulletin of news coming up in just a couple of minutes.
