A Huntsville, Ala., police officer found guilty of murder for fatally shooting a man in 2018 has been placed on leave but will continue to be paid, according to the city.
William “Ben” Darby, 28, was convicted Friday for the murder of Jeffrey Parker, who had a gun to his own head and was threatening suicide.
Darby was released on $100,000 bail Friday and was placed on paid administrative leave Monday while he awaits sentencing.
