Academy Award Nominated Short Film Features First Deaf-Blind Actor “Feeling Through” is a great feel-good movie and the documentary of the making of the film is even better — view both!
I’m haunted by the way I behaved the first time I came into close proximity with a Deaf-Blind person. It was in the lobby of the student union building at Gallaudet University — the famous liberal arts school for the Deaf in Washington, DC. At the time, my Deaf daughter Miranda was a student there. It was a Saturday night and I was killing time, waiting for a nearby campus theatre to open its doors. Miranda was playing the role of Puck in the drama department’s production of “A Midsummer’s Night Dream.”
