With that, the A’s first game before a live crowd in nearly a year got under way. In front of 1,998 fans at Hohokam Stadium — a sellout under safety limits this spring — the A’s played their Cactus League opener Sunday afternoon, losing 2-1 to the 2020 World Series-champion Dodgers in a seven-inning game.
