999 New COVID-19 Cases, 24 Deaths in Past 24 Hours 999 people, out of 3,627 tested in the last 24 hours, were positive on COVID-19, among them Alliance for Albanians leader Ziadin Sela. 24 patients passed away. According Public Healthcare Institute, the number of new COVID-19 cases increased by 7.3 % in the past week, and today 1,082 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised at clinics around the country. Due to the full capacities at Skopje Infectious Diseases Clinic, patients are now being admitted to COVID Centres located at the University Clinics for Ophthalmology, for Otorhinolaryngology, for Surgical Diseases, and also on Tuesday, the first COVID patients were admitted to the University Clinic for Traumatology, Orthopaedic Diseases, Anaesthesia, Reanimation, Intensive Care and Emergency Centre, which resulted in delays of regular check-ups and interventions over patients with orthopaedic conditions. The facility at the former clinic Mala Bogorodica, provided by several private clinics, even though specifically prepared, is yet to accept COVID patients. Health Authorities also confirmed that so far 116 patients that were initially cured from COVID-19 contracted the virus once again. The Infectious Diseases Committee is to hold an urgent meeting on Wednesday over the latest situation with the COVID-19 pandemic and will discuss whether to demand introduction of stricter measures to limit the spreading of the disease. So far in Macedonia, 113,929 cases of COVID-19 were registered, of which 11,889 remain active, while 3,364 have passed away.
