From Staff Reports View Comments Caddo Schools celebrated on Wednesday the commitment of five high school seniors to area colleges with aspirations to be future educators. The seniors have completed an enriched Teaching Professions course through the Caddo Career and Technology Center. The course allows them to gain insight into teaching while studying child development theory, the foundation of education and different learning styles. Students also participate in a teaching internship in various classrooms across the district. Completion of the CCTC courses can earn up to six dual-enrollment credits through LSUS. “We need good teachers now more than ever,” said Laci Stokes, teaching professions instructor at Caddo Career and Technology Center. “These students grew an elective into a passion and we were able to solidify their future goals by testing the waters first through their internship. They are now graduating high school already having the experience and knowledge of what it takes to be a teacher. We could not be more proud.”
