Maximus Julian, 22, of Little Compton, died Tuesday after being critically injured during a felony assault early Sunday morning. Newport police said in a press release that Julian was injured during an altercation at a house party at 548 Thames Street. A GoFundMe started for the Julian family said the University of Rhode Island student was about to graduate with a business degree. He worked on a commercial fishing boat out of Sakonnet Point in his hometown of Little Compton.
