A Pontardawe pub has been fined for breaking coronavirus regulations. A Pontardawe sports bar has been fined £1,000 for breaching coronavirus restrictions by serving drinks after the then 6pm curfew. Sports Bar 98, on Herbert Street, has been issued with a fixed penalty notice (FPN) for breaching Covid-19 restrictions on December 4. According to Neath Port Talbot council, "seven to eight people were found drinking at the bar after 9pm" - on the day Welsh Government rules came in restricting alcohol sales and shutting pubs early. A council spokesperson said: "The £1,000 fixed penalty notice was issued to the responsible person at the premises after a visit by the Joint Enforcement Team consisting of Neath Port Talbot Council licensing officers and colleagues from South Wales Police."
