KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was critically injured in a shooting Wednesday near East 40th Street and South Benton Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri.
Officers were in the area about 5:50 p.m. when they heard gunshots, police said.
The officers saw the shooting victim fall.
A vehicle sped north on Benton Boulevard from the shooting scene, police said.
The victim was transferred to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
