COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — A 23-year-old man is in serious condition after he fell while trail running in Ferguson Canyon on Thursday, Unified police said. According to Unified police detective Ken Hansen, the man called and told police that he had "tumbled" pretty far and had significant injuries. Two search and rescue teams responded to search for the man, having to navigate the difficult terrain to find him. Unified Fire Authority spokesman Patrick Costin said a medical helicopter and Department of Public Safety helicopters searched while firefighters and paramedics hiked to the man's approximate location. 23 year old man who fell while trail running in Ferguson canyon this afternoon is now off the mountain and is being flown to the hospital.
