WEST VALLEY CITY — Officials on Saturday identified the man who died Friday morning after two cars collided at a Mountain View Corridor intersection. Alonzo Ahlstrom, 74, of Herriman, was killed in the crash and another driver was seriously injured after officials say one driver likely ran a red light. Emergency crews responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Mountain View Corridor and 5400 South about 9:30 a.m., according to West Valley Police Sgt. Jason Johnson. Johnson said investigators believe one of the vehicles was southbound on the highway and the other was westbound on 5400 South when one of the vehicles ran a red light, causing a collision.
