YEAR two pupils have drawn posters and written poems to explore ways they can be kind to their peers who are facing adversity. Ysgol San Sior was invited to take part in the ACE Support Hub's 'Time to be Kind' campaign, funded by the Welsh Government to prevent and mitigate adverse childhood experiences by raising awareness and changing policies. Pupils talked regularly about appropriate actions and behaviours at home, using daily affirmations for positivity, sharing their concerns on a 'worry wall' and even started writing poems of support. Some of the messages included “I will hold the door open for the next person” and “I will ask someone to play if they are sad".
