2 months ago in Local jsalzone Photo: WHCU ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A $1 million grant will help prevent evictions and housing displacement in Ithaca. The public-private collaboration includes the City of Ithaca, Cornell Law School, the Human Services Coalition of Tompkins County and Legal Assistance of Western New York. Funds will be used to provide no-cost legal representation and information for tenants in the City. Some possible uses include financial support for to cover last-resort rental arrears, along with the establishment of a housing stability supplement program with monthly stipends and additional support for tenants.
