After failed attempts to set up the Poor Clare Monastery in New York, Cincinnati and Philadelphia, they were received in Omaha by the goodwill and generosity of Bishop James O’Connor who understood and appreciated the value of the contemplative life and mission of religious.
It was with the support of Count John Creighton that the establishment was made possible.
