It is close to a two hour drive from Newtown’s landmark flagpole to the waterfront flagpole at the tip of Stonington Point.
But this past week, a pair of Connecticut homes at opposite ends of the state were otherwise pretty close in one respect as their owners hiked the price tags for the 2021 selling season.
As expected amid the coronavirus pandemic, Connecticut home sales shot out of the gate in 2021. Transactions were up 27 percent from January 2020 to more than 3,500 in total according to early data posted by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties.

El Paso County commissioners approve 2021 road improvement list
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) Nearly 377 miles of roads will be improved as part of the annual maintenance program recently approved by county commissioners.
The road work will be allocated to dust reduction (227 lane miles), gravel road repair (29 miles), paving (53 miles) and chip sealing (66 miles).
Chip sealing is a process in which a loosely-compacted layer of aggregate (small particles containing sand, gravel, crushed stone, recycled concrete, etc.) is spread on a layer of asphalt.
Chip sealing is a less expensive way to maintain roads that are in good condition, and is often used on rural roads having lower traffic volumes.
