THE Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine is now available for children 12 to 15 years old, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. announced Thursday.
CHCC spokesman Guillermo Lifoifoi said the healthcare corporation, with guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, will offer the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the Medical Care and Treatment Site starting Friday, May 14, 2021.
Walk-ins are accepted but parental consent forms are required for minors who are unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parental consent forms are available at www.vaccinatecnmi.com. It is requested that a valid government-issued ID or birth certificate be presented at the time of registration.

Photo by: Nassau County Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced that she is seeking $85 million in federal infrastructure funding to expand healthcare and housing for veterans. The funding would assist Nassau Health Care Corporation (NHCC) renovate facilities to include veteran’s in patient services and specialized care, as well as establish a Veteran’s Adult Day Health Care Program and make upgrades to unoccupied apartment buildings located on NHCC’s East Meadow Campus to house veterans suffering from housing insecurity. The funding would preserve NHCC’s role as the region’s only public safety net healthcare system and establish an important satellite to the Northport VA Hospital for thousands of veterans who require treatment but find it out-of-reach due to distance constraints.
(CHCC) â In March, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.- Environmental Health Disease Prevention conducted sanitary inspections at retail, eating and drinking establishments.
CHCC-EHDP also launched inspections for the BIBA Healthy Restaurant Program last month. CHCC, in partnership with the CNMI Nutrition Council, manages the Biba Healthy Restaurant Program. The program aims to increase the availability of clearly marked, nutritious food at local restaurants. The programâs mission is to make the healthy choice the easy choice at CNMI restaurants. Nutrition guidelines have been developed for restaurants and caterers to ensure healthy choices are available for CNMI families when eating outside the home.
The individual was identified through travel screening and confirmed diagnosis through fifth-day testing, CHCC said.
It added that the individual has been safely in quarantine and was moved to the designated isolation area for close monitoring.
CHCC said it has already initiated contact tracing for the most immediate contacts of the new confirmed case, including passengers on the same flight.
As of Wednesday, the CNMI Covid-19 dashboard showed that two individuals had to undergo a 14-day incubation period since the last community transmission.
The dashboard also indicates that 125 of the CNMIâs total cases were identified through travel testing, 11 through community screening and 25 through contact tracing.
