QCDC organises webinar series to raise awareness of ASD  18 Apr 2021 - 10:17 Samantha Campion Gibson (left) and Sabika Shaban The Peninsula The Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has organized a webinar series to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to coincide with April - Autism Awareness Month. QCDC will hold the next live webinar via Zoom in English, titled ‘Autism Awareness Month: Ordinary Heroes – Nurturing People with Autism’. Taking place on Monday, April 19, at 8 30pm, it targets parents and young men and women with autism.  Special guests  Sara Coleman, Special Education Teacher at Awsaj Academy; Samantha Campion-Gibson, Autism Specialist at the Learning Center; and   Sabika Shaban, a parent of two neurodiverse children, will speak at the webinar. 602 children enrolled to EAA’s Second Assalam School  14 Apr 2021 - 8:52 Students during a lesson in a classroom of Second Assalam School. The Peninsula The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation’s Second Assalam School, established in partnership with Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has made a successful transition from the academic year 2019-20 to 2020-21, during the fiscal year 2020, with 602 children enrolled. Established under EAA’s Together Project in partnership with MOEHE, and funded by Qatar Charity (QC) and Afif Charity, the Second Assalam School provides tuition-free schooling to Arabic-speaking children that were previously not enrolled in school. Following the COVID-19 outbreak, the school promptly adopted alternative measures to ensure all students had continued access to education. World Economic Forum names Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad Al-Thani as Young Global Leader
