Warped Cigars owner Kyle Gellis, who is known for working with factories such as Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua and El Titan de Bronze in Miami, is going off the beaten path by adding his first Dominican-made cigar. The new smoke, called Chinchalle, is expected to ship in late summer as a single vitola, Robusto.
“We wanted to progress forward with Warped in challenging ourselves to keep providing unique blends to our customers, so heading to a place we have not produced cigars before was the immediate first choice,” Gellis said.
Chinchalle, which is Cuban slang for a very small factory, is made in Santiago, Dominican Republic, at the newly-opened Tabacalera Isla factory owned by Hostos Fernandez Quesada.
