A WATERFRONT pub could be sporting a new retractable canopy should plans be approved. The Jolly Sailor in on Lands End Road in Bursledon has applied for planning permission to allow them to replace an existing canvas canopy structure on the jetty with an updated and modernised retractable canopy for their outdoor seating and dining area. The retractable canopy will prove shelter outside when needed on grey, drizzly days but can be pulled back to allow punters to enjoy the sunshine and clear nights throughout the spring, summer and early autumn. The current structure has been in place for several years and is due a major upgrade.
