COVID-19 immunity in S.C. estimated to be 65%, according to MUSC research

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WMBF) – Research from the
Medical University of South Carolina estimates that statewide immunity to the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 has hit about 65%.
For Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties, the research estimates that more than two-thirds of residents have immunity to COVID-19, a press release from Tidelands Health states.
MUSC’s date estimates 74% percent of Georgetown County is immune either through COVID-19 vaccination or from antibodies after recovering from the virus, according to Tidelands Health officials.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) â Georgetown County now leads South Carolina in its of COVID-19 vaccination of eligible residents, according to officials with Tidelands Health.
More than 50% of eligible Georgetown County residents â approximately 26,784 of the 52,625 included in the eligible population â have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, making the county No. 1 in the state, according to the
Horry County ranks fourth, with 133,359 of 281,915 residents aged 15 and older having received at least one vaccine dose, a press release stated.
Tidelands Health accepting walk-ins at regional COVID-19 vaccination sites this week

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) – Tidelands Health will offer the COVID-19 vaccine on a walk-in basis at three regional vaccination sites this week.
According to information from Tidelands Health, those 16 and older can stop by a vaccination site during select hours to receive the vaccine without an appointment.
Walk-in locations, days and hours are as follows:
· Howard Gymnasium, 1610 Hawkins St., Georgetown: Wednesday, April 14, through Friday, April 16, 1 to 3 p.m.
