Argent has opened the doors of a luxury flats scheme at its redevelopment in King’s Cross.
The Squire & Partners-designed job was completed last year by main contractor McLaren and a project team including structural engineer Ramboll, QS Gardiner & Theobald and interior designer Conran and Partners.
The 11-storey block features 61 homes and has been called Luma, a name which the architect said was chosen because of the emphasis on light in its design.
Facing onto Lewis Cubitt Park, homes range from studio flats on its lower floors to a pair of 2,200sq ft penthouses, known as ‘Dawn’ and ‘Dusk’, split across three levels on its upper storeys, while its middle levels house one and a half storey apartments featuring mezzanine living spaces.

A 92,000 sq ft secondary school is to be constructed on the site of the former cinema on Hyde Road after Manchester City Council gave the scheme the green light.
The Gorton school is to be operated by the Co-Op Academies’ Trust, which runs 25 education facilities in the North of England.
Contractor Sir Robert McAlpine is to build the 1,200-place facility, designed by Space Architects, and the school is due to open in time for the 2022/23 academic year.
Under plans lodged in January, there is to be a three-storey main school building linked to a sports hall block of two-storeys.

Project being masterminded by Phones4U founder John Caudwell
Another package of work on a super-prime residential scheme in Mayfair masterminded by billionaire John Caudwell has been awarded.
The Audley Square development from Caudwell – best known as founder of the retailer Phones4U – will include five townhouses, three penthouses, a mews home and 21 flats. It has been drawn up by Robert AM Stern Architects, the New York architect behind 15 Central Park West, which is considered one of Manhattan’s most desirable addresses. Technical architect on the job is EPR.
The site, which was once home to a petrol station, car park and aparthotel, was cleared by Cantillon with Careys set to finish the substructure and superstructure work, thought to be worth around £60m, next month.
