The implementation of a multi-million-shilling project launched by Dr Ida Odinga in Homa Bay County could delay because of a stalemate between the contractor and Kenya Power.
The project christened Dr Ida Odinga Library, Research, Innovation and Resource Centre is under construction at Ogande Girls High School in Homa Bay Town Constituency and is expected to cost over Sh300 million.
The project started in December last year after a groundbreaking ceremony presided over by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, his education counterpart Prof George Magoha and Dr Ida.

Pupils of Simbi Primary School in Rachuonyo North, Homa Bay County failed to attend classes after part of their school was flooded. The flooding was as a result of River Awach breaking its banks following the heavy rains pounding the area. A number of pupils who went to school yesterday had to return home when they found all their classrooms flooded.
School headteacher Washington Akuno said only 108 out of 386 pupils reported to the school that morning, but the floods adversely affected their school opening programme for the third term.

STATEMENT ON THE HBC ASSEMBLY AND 2022 POLITICS.
Ladies and gentlemen, great people of Homa Bay County;
Today, as a representative of the people in our County Legislature, I choose to add my voice to the perrenial assembly woes.
1. Homa Bay County Assembly has been destabilized by the 2022 politics. This began soon after the 2017 elections where some aspirants made it a cash cow for oiling their 2022 campaigns.
2. You all know the relationship between the speaker and one of the candidates, and the fact that she sits in the CASB.
3. You all know that the power struggles within our assembly have been about money for 2022. The speaker and the Clerk are all partisan and allied to a particular gubernatorial candidate.
