Honesdale National Bank cashing in on history with old checks A bank in Wayne County received a pleasant surprise when a customer brought in pieces of the bank s financial history. Author: Courtney Harrison Updated: 7:38 PM EDT July 26, 2021 HONESDALE, Pa. Honesdale National Bank along Main Street is used to customers coming in to cash checks or make other transactions. Elizabeth Nagy is the vice president and director of marketing for the bank. Nagy says last week a customer came in with a stack of checks that surprised bank employees. These weren t just any checks; these had historical significance. We were blown away by the sheer number of checks that they still had in their possession and the fact that they dated back to 1893, Nagy said.

$10,000 Donation will Support Families Helping Families Program

Tri-County Independent The Honesdale National Bank Foundation supports the community with a $10,000 contribution to the Clearbrook Foundation. The funds will specifically support the organization’s Families Helping Families Program offerings in the Clarks Summit, Scranton and Tunkhannock communities.
