“The total grants to South Western Railway in the budget for 2021-22 has increased by ₹ 536 crore, which is 20% more compared to the grants allocated in the previous budget (2020-21),” Chief Public Relations Officer of South Western Railway E. Vijaya said here on Thursday.

Train services restored as work at Hubballi yard is postponed

With the postponement of non interlocking work to facilitate remodelling of Hubballi Railway Station Yard, South Western Railway has restored train services that were scheduled to be cancelled either partially or fully.
Accordingly, the services of Train No 06581 Hubballi-Mysuru Express Special commencing journey on January 22 to January 29, which were notified for partial cancellation between Hubballi and Hosapete, have been restored.
The services of Train No 06582 Mysuru-Hubballi Express Special commencing journey on January 21 to January 28, which were notified for partial cancellation between Hosapete and Hubballi, have been restored.

Pavan Kumar Malapati, a 2012 batch Indian Administrative Service officer, took charge as Deputy Commissioner of Ballari on Sunday. Outgoing Deputy Commissioner S.S. Nakul, who was designated private secretary to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, has handed over charge.
Mr. Malapati was working as Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement) before being posted to Ballari. He had earlier worked as Assistant Commissioner in Sirsi and Hosapete and also Chief Executive Officer of Bidar Zilla Panchayat.

BENGALURU: After denials of a change of guard in Karnataka and assurances on the impending cabinet expansion happening ‘soon’ by several state and central BJP leaders, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s official two-day visit to Karnataka in the second week of January is expected to clear the air on several such prickly issues.
Shah is likely to visit Karnataka after Sankranti festival. He will visit Bengaluru and hold a meeting with party leaders and head to Bhadravathi in Shivamogga district and Hosapete in Ballari district to inaugurate Central Reservation Police Force training centres. He is also expected to visit the world heritage site Hampi. The local administration is expected to begin ground work on beefing up securit
