The city has long been weighing how to pay for improvements and paving of part of LeGrand Pierre, an important collector route in the Driggs transportation plan that will eventually connect Highway 33 and Ski Hill Road. The construction of the new elementary school on an unimproved gravel road gave the city further impetus to pave the half mile of LeGrand Pierre between 5th Street and Booshway, with a turn lane in front of the school, and build an adjacent pathway.Â

My name is Cara Curren. I have been a resident of Driggs for three years. I am ten years old and I live in Buffalo Junction loop. One of the many things I love about Driggs is that everybody is friendly and supportive.
Our family owns a delightful and energetic cockapoo puppy. He needs a great deal of exercise, so I think we should build a dog park. The closest dog park is in Victor which means everybody who wants to play with their dog has to drive to a different town. I feel that if we build a dog park in Driggs, there would be less traffic between our two local cities. We could have also have a dog farmers market selling dog equipment near the park. I think that it would strengthen our community even more!

Silver Star Communications is announcing the end of its 2020 construction season for the CARES Act funded Fiberhood as awarded by the Idaho Department of Commerce to the City of Driggs back in August.
Using its own employees and several construction companies from other states, Silver Star has put over 150,000 feet of conduit and fiber into the ground over the past few months. The fiber main cable now passes 690 locations, 368 of which previously had speeds under 25 MB/3 MB. âAs a result of this project, the citizens and businesses of Driggs now have access to world-class internet speeds. This has been a hard year for our community, but brighter days are ahead including the opportunities that come with fiber-optic internet,â said Driggs Mayor Hyrum Johnson.
