HYDERABAD: A double murder case has created sensation in Telangana.
An advocate couple were killed by unknown persons who attacked them with a sickle in Telangana s Peddapalli district on Wednesday afternoon.
The couple Vamana Rao and his wife Nagamani are known for filing public interest litigation petitions in Telangana high court on various public issues.
The incident took place when the victims were returning to Hyderabad from Manthani.
The car in which they were travelling was first intercepted and then stopped by the accused.
Later, the accused started to attack Vamana with a sickle.
When his wife Nagamani intervened, she too was attacked.
Hyderabad: Forgotten crops have to be readdressed and cultivated to tackle the problem of climate change, speakers at the 21st Mobile Biodiversity Festival of Deccan Development Society (DDS) said at the closing event on Monday at Machnoor in Jharasangam mandal on Sangareddy district. Co-director of DDS Jayasri Cherukuri said the festival of the women farmers was being celebrated for the last 20 years. Three women farmers were honoured for their contribution towards ecological agriculture and climate. Maisannagari Ratnamma, Moligeri Chandramma and Begari Sangamma have been cultivating millets for several years.

Hyderabad: A nursing student injected an elderly couple with an unknown chemical, saying it was Covid vaccine, and whipped away eight tola gold ornaments. Police arrested the student and recovered the stolen jewellery from her possession. The incident happened at Lalitha Nagar in Meerpet on the evening of February 13. The couple was identified as K. Laxman, 80 and his wife Kasturi, 70.
