Outline planning permission has been granted by Carlisle City Council for the construction of three homes on the northern edge of Faugh, close to Heads Nook and Hayton. Because the approval is for outline permission only, a further more detailed planning application would be required before any final go-ahead to build the new homes could be given. Upon reviewing the application, Hayton Parish Council expressed concerns over the prospect that allowing residential development at the edge of Faugh would invite much more significant development of large detached houses on the edge of the village in future.
