MATAWAN, NJ An elderly Matawan woman whose family was searching for her, and who fell down an embankment, was found by Hazlet s Police canine last Tuesday, May 25, said Hazlet Police.
The woman, who has dementia, went missing in the evening of Tuesday, May 25. When she went missing from her home, her family called police. Shortly after 11 p.m., Matawan Police contacted Hazlet Police and asked if they could use Hazlet s police K-9, Rico, directed by Patrolman Cody Sachs.
When Sachs and Rico got to the woman s home in Matawan, her family directed them in the direction they believe she walked in and Rico quickly located her scent trail, said police.
Location of the attack is near Middle Road In Hazlet
HAZLET, NJ - UPDATED 11PM: The Monmouth County Prosecutor s Office and Hazlet police responded to an attack near Middle Road. A stabbing victim with multiple wounds was reported on March 15. The incident occurred around 1:30AM on Monday.

HAZLET, NJ - The Hazlet Township Committee selected a new mayor this month, a committee member since 2019 with a background in finance and education. Tara Clark, who served as deputy mayor in 2020, was appointed to a one-year term during Hazlet s annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 5.
Each year, members of the five-person committee select a new mayor and deputy mayor at the reorganization meeting. Clark takes over for Mike Glackin, who served as Hazlet s mayor in 2020.
