Bagdad, Jan 21 (Prensa Latina) No group so far has claimed the twin suicide bombing that killed 28 people and wounded 73 in a commercial market in downtown Bagdad, Brigadier General Hazem al-Azzawi, the director of the capital s Operations Command confirmed.
The toll might surely rise as many of the wounded are seriously injured, the Ministry of Health has foreseen. The health ministry said it had mobilised medics across the capital to respond to the deadly attack.
Two suicide bombers detonated their charges in a busy day in the Bab al-Sharji clothing market in Tayaran Square, rupturing months of relative calm, the military reported. The last deadly suicide attack in the city was in January 2018, when 35 people were killed in the same square.
