State police are investigating a spate of thefts in Saltsburg, just over the border from Westmoreland County.
Trooper Clifford Greenfield said items were taken overnight during the weekend. Unlocked vehicles were targeted in some of the thefts on Hemlock Way and Salt, Walnut and Washington streets.
Police were looking at surveillance video to compile a list of stolen property, which includes cash, $3,000 worth of Milwaukee tools, a black mountain bicycle and a red Taotao ATV. Residents were advised to secure their vehicles and property and report suspicious activity.
Greenfield said troopers do not believe the thefts are related to a stolen vehicle investigation spanning three counties, including Westmoreland. Police are still working to determine who was behind those thefts, which police believe are connected, he said.

Pennsylvania State Police in Indiana are investigating a string of weekend thefts in Saltsburg Borough.
According to a news release, troopers report at least six incidents of theft, primarily from motor vehicles, since 9 a.m. Saturday. They say these thefts happened in the overnight hours along the streets of Hemlock Way and Salt, Walnut and Washington Streets.
Among the items stolen were a black mountain-style bicycle and a red TaoTao all-terrain vehicle (ATV), but state police say up to $3,000 in total items were stolen.
Troopers are monitoring surveillance footage while compiling a list of all stolen property. Until more details become available, they advise Saltsburg residents to lock their homes and vehicles and to report any suspicious activity to (724) 357-1960.
